The Orishas Explained (Nigerian Spirituality)

  • This Video is about the Orishas of the Yoruba tribe.
    This is the Orishas explained
Just a disclaimer for you aunties and uncles that have your nose pointed up, this video is for educational purposes only. This isn’t me promoting or not promoting anything I’m simply talking about something that ancestors followed. And if you’re of Caribbean, African American or south American descent this may have been the religion of your ancestors followed too. The Yoruba tribe is probably the most influential African tribe in history, if you want a video about them alone just drop a like.
The orishas are a group of supernatural beings or sprits and they act as the mediators between the human and spiritual realm. They were first worshiped in the ancient Yorubaland which spans modern day Nigeria, Togo and Benin. The Yorubaland was essentially a massive country until colonisation.

It's cool how during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade many of our African ancestors found ways to keep their culture alive. For some of us, we may not have been taught about Voudon ( Benin/ Togo) or Ifa completely, but we are aware of other traditions from our true home. Those people were so smart, so that we could exist. What a FANTASTIC job u did to summarize such an ancient and very much ALIVE and ever changing African Spirituality among such a POWERFUL Tribe now so condensed and fractured by colonization. I carry the DNA of your neighboring Tribe, the IGBO. I don't know what my Ancestral tribe would have done without the shared YUROBA blessings of the Orisha tradition. I have come as a descendant of the horrors of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and still live within the brutality of our MAAFA here in America. My Nigerian (Biafrian) heritage is PRECIOUS to me, even though BOTH our Nation's names are a result of the barbaric terrorism of British invasion and their unforgivable and yet unamended human SLAVER industry. I KNOW I have the protection and guidance of the 7 AFRICAN POWERS as expressed through the 7 Orishas u have introduced in this incredibly concise video. I FEEL it. I have FELT it long before I was introduced to Ifa and the American Yuroba culture still very strong in New York City. I FEEL it in the Orisha music and drums...the blowing of the Conch shell...the DANCE of our People...When I combine my own experiences and knowledge with that of my Ancestors, it is a healing I can't even explain. My mind CLEARS of the LIES, suppression and TRAUMA I was born with and I BEGIN to understand who I truly am and WHY I am here. My Ancestors suffered unspeakable devastation under many WARS and human weaknesses...to me, the Orishas offer a way to RECOVER and STRENGTHEN under their ancient wisdom and unending compassion for humanity despite our constant destructive and sadistic nature. You have such a GIFT of language. You give simplicity to extremely complex concepts. You make LIGHT of what has triggered such generational rage. What a gift u are to this world, especially to ur generation who may never find interest in looking BACK before they move FORWARD. I send blessings to u, ur work, and ur family! A'she.

I am here because of my ancestry DNA results. It shows that I am 22% Nigerian and 22% west African Bantu. I’m just trying to learn more about my true culture.!!!! the other percentages came from places like Togo, benin ,Ivory Coast etc…

can give you the peace that you need!! Stop following lies of Satan!! Repent of your sin and seek the truth. Jesus is the only way!! Sad😢 seeing so many people deceived this us a demons repent and seek the lord Jesus Christ he loves! You that demons is real. Satan came to kill, steal and destroy
But Jesus came to give you life abundantly. John 3:16
