Makes sense because I've always read/heard Olokun was a woman, but I think thats because of the way we understand gender, not because of what their force actually is. Olokun is probably just the divine balance of both masc and fem energies.

I was going to name my baby Yemaya but he was a boy. We struggled with fertility with my second child after my husband had chemotherapy and I freaked about fish and one of the fish in my dream was blue and had a mermaid tale and she said "for my baby to have a baby she needs to clear her mind and drink the waters" ... I was pregnant that following week.

When I was deep into Christianity. Yemaya or Yemoja came to me and asked why I left her. I told her I would never come back and she simply said "You will come back." Years later I found myself being trained in afro brazillian dance and the goddess or orisha being honored in the dance was Yemaya! I felt so at home dancing under Yemoja and even brought on the rain during the dance. It was beautiful. She appeared in our Pacific ocean as a celestial blue but brown. She was so gorgeous, glowy and feminine. She had a gorgeous crown, along with adornments . She also had a tail that was hidden under the water. The moon shined on her greatness

Lovely vid, my godfather is priest of yemoja for 73 yrs, he taught me that yemoja lives both on land and sea and she has only been called yemaya for 400yrs and in african some houses burn red candlez for her due to the symbolism of the placenta, and she can come in the form of a bat which is the animal that traveled at night to follow the slave ships and a also as a crocodile. Efun are sacred to her because its made out of fish fossils and the white foam of her waters represents innocence and the dark blue represents her mystery. She is a protectress of the home, I can go on and on about omio yemoja but everyone has there stories , peace and bliss

She is infinitely kind and i'm so grateful to her and all of the other Orishas for all they have done for me and my loved ones and for the world in general. I'm grateful to be accepted here and to be a part of this. Stay safe guys whatever you're going through I believe in you I know it's hard but you are strong!!! Ashe!

Ive only heard of Yemaya as a child but long forgot. Ive recently had an awakening and entered the craft n have now been practicing for less than a year. Rn is a hard time for me so I’ve been asking ancestors and deities for help. I kept having dreams of mermaids and the sea. Searched n the first thing to come up was her and just the presence I felt when I said her name. Chills 😳 I may not know much of African deities but I have so much respect and appreciation for the history, culture, and people behind it. It feels weird being called to her and I don’t wanna seem offensive but watching your video was a lot of help. Hopefully I know what I’m doing and that she guides me to do it right. Many blessings!🌛🌕🌜

Yes! Eso! this is the best story of Yemeya I have heard in awhile. For AfroLatinos the syncretic version of her through folk Catholicism is La virgen de San Juan del Valle for Yemeya and La Virgen Del Caridad for Oshun. In the Texas-Mexico region the shores of Boca Chica is where they meet and AfroLatino children of Yemeya and Oshun go cleanse.

Asé! Message received.Orí has called into me and I’ve been touched by my ancestors and my Orishas. I decided to call upon the ancestors when I needed support so I lit a few candles and spoke to them at my ancestral alter. For about 3 days and the flames are still lit. I lit two white one candles, 1 blue, 1 red, and 1 yellow candle in hope to invite them into my space using my intuition but I think this ritual has helped me unlock who my Orí is and I believe based off this video it is Yemaya! I haven’t did an “official” Orisha reading yet but when I studied abroad in Cuba My santería friend told me they think Oshun is my Orí. My friend who practices Candomblé thinks my Ori is Oya. Pero after hearing this story and the fact the Blue candle is the candle that is burning the slowest feels like I am Yemaya and she lives with me thanks to this video. And all them other Orishas are within me to bc I gave birth to them! Many other things in common like the fact that I’ve only Lived in Coastal states bc I had to live close to the beach. I always felt like the water called me and like my ancestors were in the sea. And on top of that I have seashells tatted on me and I love the color blue. Asé message received! Thank you for this channel! Divine Timing! And I love you! Asé

I recently took a step back from my spiritual journey and focused a little more on getting closer to faith. Things have drastically changed and today feeling very drained and unworthy I just so happened to run into your videos. So, now I want to thank you for giving me the inspiration to try again and do both never stop seriously!!

New subbie and i enjoy your content. Just recently finished watching your Oshun (I know a very similar and yet additional version to both of these Goddesses with all do respect) which led to Mama Yemaya. I am her child. I appreciate you speaking on the The Orishas. I was in a really dark place at a point and recently (last year) was introduced to them through signs and synchronicities and spirituality. Going down the rabbit hole of anything can be very overwhelming and confusing especially when dealing with major Depression and anxiety. i paused on it for a while, but Mamas Yemaya , Oshun and Oya stuck with me. Oshun stuck with me heavy but, Yemaya was and is on me something different. She sends me so many signs and times i feel overwhelmed to figure out what they are. She is teaching me and telling me something and I'm gonna figure our blessed relationship out some day soon. Thank you again!

😯 After hearing this, I know exactly why I've always been called to any body of water and am always the nurturer. My sign is the water bearer. ♒ I take a lot before I "pop off". Lol I basically live off of seafood and am very easygoing. 🤯🤯 I also often feel that masculine energy that pops out even tho I am a very soft woman.
