- The 1991 500cc Japanese Bike Grand Prix at Suzuka was an incredible race as the top contenders in the Championship, Wayne Rainey (Yamaha), Kevin Schwantz (Suzuki), Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan (Honda) and Eddie Lawson moved battled for victory.
In what was one of the best races from the 1990s, it was a furious encounter with the lead changing multiple times between Rainey, Schwantz and Doohan and it went right down to the final corner!

Que duelos nos dieron estos grandes pilotos, fue una bella época los ‘90
Those were the days!
Oh how I miss those
500cc beasts...
Absolutely right! That was just such an amazing time for motorcycle racing. It's definitely good now, but it was better then.
Yes it was an amazing time Joe. The racing is good now but I can’t get excited about it like I did the 500cc two strokes. I’m always reminded of the late great Barry Sheen when a journalist asked him “What’s the best thing about motogp?” He thought about it for a moment and then answered “The crumpet..”
Can you please tell me where I can watch 1991 full races?

Motorsport at his best f1, bike.... incredible!!
I don't care what anybody says, these are way way way harder to ride than today's bikes. And I promise you if you put these rides in their prime riding today's bikes they will whip any one of the rides today from here to Mars.
Doohan was on his way to being the maestro

How fast are they going???
Yes
In this era they were approaching, if not, surpassing 200mph however cornering speeds were a bit slower than todays motogp bikes meaning many of the corners shown here were 60-80 mph corners.
Shinichi Ito broke the 200mph barrier in the 1993 German Grand Prix with the first fuel injected NSR500@@sampizza463
