- Here is a short edit featuring the exotic 1991 Factory TT-F1 Honda RVF750 racebike, during the 1991 Suzuka 8 Hours.
Machine Specs are listed at the end..
These prototype Tourist Trophy Formula One (TT-F1) machines bore little resemblance to the road bikes they were based on. Retaining only a handful of parts to comply with the regulations. One off frames, prototype bodywork, exotic chassis / engine materials with strong power and weighing almost the same as a 500cc GP bike of the time. Raced by some of the best riders, all vying to win the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race.
After 1993 a regulation change to "Superbike" class was introduced. The Formula One class was removed alltogether, as manufacturers focused their attentions at racing more street based motorcycles at the event, from 1994 onwards.
The Suzuka 8 hours Endurance Road Race is a motorcycle endurance race held at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan each year. The race runs for eight hours consecutively and entrants are composed of two or more riders who alternate during pitstops.
It began in 1978 as a race for prototype Tourist Trophy Formula One (TT-F1) motorcycles which meant the big four Japanese companies (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha), who had unlimited engineering resources, could use them on the track.
A main attraction of the race is that it normally features star riders from MotoGP and Superbike racing factions from around the world and it is not uncommon for a rider to have the 8 Hours race written into their contracts when they acquire a factory ride in MotoGP or Superbike.
Those early 90s Hondas were gorgeous machines.
Can't deny you about that.
The very pinnacle of race bike exotica that HRC could create at that time.
In the same year at the 1991 Isle of Man TT races Hislop and Fogarty rode 2 of these factory specials at a blistering race speed.....they carried the Silkolene lubricants logo on the fairings at the TT.
The Most Beautiful Motorcycle ever built on planet earth... still today ! 😌
What a wonderful time with those very special machines. Thanks for your comment Luke
Totally agree 😊
It is so cool seeing this old footage. I absolutely loved the 90’s for racing.
Doohan always had an unmistakable riding style....
what a great machine well ahead of its time, wish Honda had stuck with their geared cams, just for the noise alone it would have been worth it
Had a 87 VFR 700. Loved that bike. (actually still have it, but after 267,000 miles, it has valve damage. )
Great vid!! No electronics just pure Badass
Thanks!
LA MEJOR MOTO DE RESISTENCIA JAMÁS CREADA.....

Damn good job on this video! I love this stuff. 🇯🇵🏁
Thanks Mike.. Much appreciated and glad you enjoyed 🤙
I used to have a poster of this bike with Doohan on board on my bedroom wall as a young teen.. Bikes became my life 🤙🏽
Cool! That’s great to hear. Awesome machines and amazing how hard they rode and raced them 🤟
Mick and Wayne best mates ever LOL
これぞ8耐エキゾーストサウンド‼︎
OKI bike, Nankai leathers, Doohan Arai, is this the best looking bike rider combo ever?
RVFのプラモ欲しい‼️
😍❤️
Amazing. Where have you got this footage from?
Thanks! I can't remember.. It was a while ago I did this 😅
😋 2nd fav to my Kwacker KH400
Swiss watch 👍
👌👍
Where these the bikes that Hizzy ,Foggy and Joey campaigned at the TT in 91 ?
Think they used 1989 Spec RVF’s at the 91 TT. Similar or possibly the same as Hizzy & Foggy used to finish 3rd in this race, 1991 Suzuka 8 Hours.
@@dazmos_65 Were they the 2 RVFs with Silkolene sponsorship on the fairings? The colour scheme was a sort of hot pink/orange.
@@howardosborne8647 Yes.
Nick Jefferies stated in a forum that those 91 Rvf bikes were the most exotic bikes to race the island
Never heard an RVF like that before. That race was rigged: mere mortals were never going to compete with the Aussie dream team 😉
Great machines and riders.. 😀
Lights of lights on give it to me 1:29 1:29 1:29 🎉🎉❤❤
Dr mr Honda, why don’t you make good looking bikes anymore? If the RVF 750 or the NSR500 were in the show room’s for sale you would be struggling to keep up with demand , I’d have both even thought I couldn’t afford to ..I’d still have them
本田最高、好きだよ、ガンバレ、👍👍🌟🌟🌟
Don't know if this is true or just an urban myth. I heard that these RVFs were the best racing bikes that Honda ever made. None survive because they were all crushed on the orders of the factory. Why that was done (if it's true) I'll never know.
Good point! I think the culture then was never really to preserve much. Just focus on developing newer / faster machinery. Thankfully this version is kept at Honda Collection Hall, in running condition ua-cam.com/video/vKOdW7vhcpI/v-deo.html
