Nah Kingdom Hearts is like Bleach. Just change the wording: Heart with Soul, Heartless with Hollow, Nobody with Arrancar, and Replica with Artificial Soul. With the exception of KH lore that the Soul/Heart can split off to form other beings. Its like if Ichigo's soul split off to form: White Zangetsu as a Hollow/then Arrancar and Alternate SoulReaper Ichigo (not Dark Zangetsu since he's a different person). Sora's original soul is a reincarnation of Ventus, Sora's Heart/Soul splits off, Roxas as Sora's Nobody/Arrancar, Xion an Artificial Soul/Replica, and Vanitas as Heartless/Hollow.
Tell that to Zexal and Arc-V. VRAINS is the only one where nothing besides (some of) the summon mechanics continues. Arc-V is likely a far future version of the 5Ds era (original dimension/pendulum dimension), and Zexal is possibly the continuation of Darkside of Dimensions aftermath.

There is a theory that it's all one timeline. Zexal actually take place after 5D. Arc-V actually take place after Zexal. In the far future Zarc manage to destroy the world. When the hero defeated Zarc, he/she split him into four Zarc beings which includes the main character in Arc-V, since Zarc as a whole couldn't be destroyed. Since he is so evil, he/she embedded the beings of Zarc with goodness, souls of the four heroes. He/she then sent the four split Zarc to the four dimensions (worlds) created, each resembling the four timelines when each of the four original protagonist heroes lived. Coincidence? I think not. He/she the hero also erased certain things such dueling methods so no strong duelist can emerge. That's why you don't see powerful equipment or such as the millennium items, crimson dragon, etc. ever existing. Then when you see some old characters in the original series in Arc-V series they aren't the same people in the original. The hero he/she who beat Zarc basically re-wrote history. If you also paid special attention in the Arc-V series each of the Zarc characters that includes the MC has striking personality, characteristics or dueling style similar to each of the four heroes in Yugioh, GX, 5D and Zexal.
Actually there are many references of 5DS throughout Zexal. It's directly indicated that it takes place at the same time as 5DS just at a different region.
Or DM-GX-Zexal(5ds doesn't exist in this world) DM-ArcV another timeline which splits into 3 dimension. They're all canon but in the alternate timeline lol
Fun Fact: In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s episode, ‘The Synchro Solution’, if you look carefully, you can see a sign the reads '2021'. That said, we have an idea as to when 5D’s takes place.
I previously had a Endymion spell counter deck so I upgraded it with the new Endymion structure deck and pendulum cards. I'm currently making a salamangreat deck.
I always loved how the backstory of Mahad/DM explains Atem's affinity with and fondness of the Dark Magician. In Atem's case, the purple Dark Magician is literally Atem's friend (similarly with the Dark Magician Girl, whom also is a friend merged with the KA; also with Seto and the BEWD KA - later reflected with Kaiba and the BEWD).
@@rickurena6076 in my eyes the rest are such a waste really. They have good starting points, but due to real life situations or for the sake of putting out more card designs, alot of the plot and stuff are all shelved. (i mean cmon the whole anime is basically advertisement for the card game at this point lol) The original is best cus they have the creator's support behind it after all even for the anime.
Some things I feel compelled to mention... Zero-Reverse happened at 2002~2003(meaning Domino City was destroyed before 2005 when Judai saw it, making this one of the biggest mysteries in Yugioh canon) It was never actually clarified that Judai traveled back in time to duel Yugi. There are some factors that suggest that it was just a vision Yugi created. Finally, what do you mean, Blue-Eyes Dragon was a dude. Did you completely miss out on Kisara?
He hasn’t actually seen the series. He’s just reading a script someone at Crunchyroll wrote for him after reading some summaries on Wikipedia. Notice how he calls Ishizu “Ishtar” when anyone who has seen the episodes would know Ishtar is the family name of both Marik and Ishizu. Some CR intern probably just saw “Ish” at the start of both parts of her name and got confused. Also, “Walking the Dragons” lol. Come on CR, maybe pay your writers to spell check the scripts before your “quirky” hosts expose themselves as frauds.
Zexal is in the same continuity as the first three. The only reason 5d's isn't mentioned is because Konami was trying to bury synchros and sell xyz. There was this 2 year period where Konami just stopped printing synchros altogether outside of one structure deck and a few unique promos.
@@crystalbreaker947 They're just different worlds in Digimon. They're not actually timelines, unless you count Adventure. The rest are different worlds, with different versions of Digimon. The video games basically prove this.
19:00 in the Japanese anime and manga it's made quite clear that it's a tabletop RPG based on the past but the moment Atem, Bakura and Yugi and the gang start making choices they are basically making events happen that never happened in the past (or at least not in that exact way) Imagine finishing reading lord of the rings and then starting a pen and paper RPG session halfway into the setting/story, there's a set chain of events that happened up to this point and if the players make the exact same choices as the characters in the books did the events will play out the same way. More likely though your players will be making slight if not entirely different choices at this point. Atem was an entirely different person at the time then he is when we see him go back to the past, because Yugi and friends taught him compassion Don't forget that Bakura/Zorc has a specific goal: To break the spell Atem placed upon him that sealed him away, for which he needs the Millennium items and needs to know Atem's true name, for which he has to search the Pharaoh's memory, who doesn't remember either. Whereas in the past Zorc was basically waiting around for Thief king Bakura (and by extension Akhenadin and Seto) to release him
I thought it was like the dragon ball z where future trunks comes back in time and caused a spilt and make a separate timelines and creating a new world
38:16 It might be that Yusei and Jaden went back a little before Yugi dueled Jaden to begin with. So, in Jaden's view he saw Yugi and was given Winged Kuriboh before starting Duel Academy, his duel with Yugi, then his meetup with Yusei and Yugi to duel Paradox, whereas in Yugi's view, He encounters Jaden and Yusei, then his duel against Jaden, then giving Jaden the Winged Kuriboh in Yu-gi-oh! GX episode 1. So, it wouldn't be out of the question for Yugi to not know who Jaden is when he met Jaden and Yusei.

Just as a note, Bonds Beyond Time takes place after the Battle City Tournament and after Jaden and Yugi’s duel. Also, in an episode in the second season of 5ds, there is a hologram that says 2021, meaning that the WRGP takes place in the year 2021, meaning that 5ds starts in late 2020. I don't remember the exact episode, but its during the semifinals, so during the battle against Team Taiyo or Team Ragnorak. With that said, I think the OG Yugioh takes place in 1996 and the fifth season ends in 1998, 1999. But that whole thing about Jaden's graduation in 2007 throws my timeline theory for a loop. On a different note, the Crimson Devil, the Team Taiyo episodes, and the final episodes of the WRGP aftermath should have been in the English Dub. They were so good. And while I am on the subject, GX season 4 should have been dubbed. GX is my favorite in the franchise (I still have to watch ARC-V and Vrains though).
I love Yugioh. I'm so happy I was reminded of this and I'm building 2 decks right now. I stopped playing around 2006 but this game is so fun. Love the Anime. YUGIOH
I think the card academy could be a renovated academy, originally built before 1996. In the "mystery time period" Kaiba would have bought an old academy and renovated it for the card game.
You tried, but I'll some clear things up: The Yugioh manga starts in 1996 (Yugi and co. are 16) and ends in October 1998. Duelist Kingdom to the end of the story takes place in 1998. At the start of Otogi arc, Honda or Anzu mention that the new school year has begun (April). Battle City takes place in August around Anzu's 18th birthday. The King's Memories arc (actual title, but you can say Pharaoh's Memories arc as well) takes place in September. They wait 1 month before going to Egypt in October. The Dark Side of Dimensions, a manga canon movie, takes place 6 months later, hence why Yugi and co. are graduating. In the Duel Monsters anime, Yugi and co. are 16 years old. It takes place in 1 year, but in 1996. (Penguin guy read Anzu's age during the Virtual World arc). Yugioh GX begins in 2004. Ryo's graduation year was shown as 2004-2005 in one of the episodes and Judai is his graduation (March) opponent. Season 2 takes place in Judai's 2nd year (05-06) and the last 2 arc (Dimension and Final arc) take place in his last year (06-07) and the story ends at his graduation (March). Source: Reading the manga where dates are actually mentioned and watching the anime.
The Pharaoh's Memories also isn't the history of what happened. It's a Shadow Game that uses his memories as a base, but it differs based on the actions of Bakura and Yami Yugi. It's not time travel.

Q: Why is fusion summmoning the primary summoning method in Yugioh GX? & A: An interview with Hikokubo Masahiro showed that originally that was not supposed to be the case but he and the staff (not Konami) thought that fusion Summoning was such an underrated Summoning method at the time and brought the idea to Yugioh's creator who loved the idea.
Season 0 does take part in the time line. The Manga is pretty different from the anime in certain aspects but if you only read the Manga it all connects just fine xd
The way I see Season 0 - everything is canon to Duel Monsters that isn't directly contradicted by Duel Monsters itself. I refuse to believe Atem didn't make a guy see himself getting swallowed by a fire dragon.

Ok so hear me out but what if the timeline split you know the one everyone talks about in zexal and arc v, what if when bonds beyond time happens and Yusei and Jaden went back they had to have talked some about their lives right so what if Yusei told Yugi about the zero reverse and yugi told kiba causing the split timeline where it didn’t happen?

I guess im too much of an original Yu gi Oh fan but the blue-eyes white dragon was Kisara in the memory world not Aknadin as mentioned at 6:50 . Aknadin became the Great Shadow Magus with the evil power of bandit king Bakura. Kisara also became Seto's servant because he rescued her from bandits when he was a child.
19:34 DSOD follows the manga though, not the anime. Which is also why Kaiba was obsessed to duel Atem again as he never saw him duel Yugi in the manga, and didn't recognize Yugi as a true duelist until the end of the movie.
While this journey dont forget your card Pot of greed, or your emergency provisions, in case you get hungry and for the last time pick up all this "Junk".
I think the whole point of the memory world arc, was for both Atem and Yami Bakura to regain their lost memories by re-living imagery illusion of their past lives. This would help Atem remeber his purpose through his past life to lock away the millienum items forever and finally pass over to the afterlife. Yugi and the gang never truly time traveled, they were just sent into Yami Yugi's mind and were experiencing events Yami had previously lived through. The only odd thing about the memory world arc was that Yugi and the gang could interact with the people Yami had memory of in his former life.
Just found this. I watched the original series back in the day, but fell out of it for reasons I don't quite remember. Then all these new series started popping up, and I had no idea how they all connected, and after searching, I finally found this. Now I've got some rough idea of how it all connects, more or less. ...except the motorcycle dueling. What's that all about?
This frustrates me so much whenever someone makes a video for a yugioh timelines everyone ignores they give solid dates for graduation and enrollment for gx students on ep 156 gx in the sub. The Chancellor is reviewing the case files for all the kids that didn’t come back from the yubel incident and you see jaden enrolled in 2004 and Zane graduates the same year.

Actually, in 2016 we got a Manga special about all characters and important events of each, drawn by the original author celebrating its 20th anniversary (PLUS THEIR AGE) Yugi's grandfather is 72 during Duelist Kingdom and in his 30s when he went to Egypt. As we know he got the Millenium Puzzle in the 60s, it is easy to prove that it really does take place in the end of the 90s ;) Kaiba is the same age as Yugi Greets from Tokyo
@@bigfish5544 Yes, it was. But it only contained all characters, most of their ages, relations to other characters, when they first appeared and a short outline about each arc. The author Takahashi Kazuki drew it by himself. It is different from the anime book. There are an anime and a manga special
You can put the pyramid of light somewhere after Battle City. As far as yugi not recognizing jaden is concerned, I think that jaden travelled back in time when the battle city tournament had already finished (yugi had the 3 egyptian gods) but jaden and yusei in bonds between time, might have visited yugi before the jaden visit so yugi didn't know jaden then. About 5d's there is another connection to the previous series because akiza was a slifer red student in a duel academy (probably the same as GX but in the future) as it is said in the duel with the detective in Fortune Cup (the detective was obelisk blue who lost from akiza), also blister says something about going to pro dueling league, and then refers to 3 last names, Atlas, Truesdale and Phoenix. So the characters know about the gx era.!
Kuningatartuutti Official GX is awesome and Zane is my favorite character, I have a Cyber Dragon deck I play at locals. I love all of the first 3 series but 5DS was just overall better. The graphics, the realistic environment of Satellite, poverty, the good story/plot, a lot humor, new mechanics, and actually dueling with a brain. This is all just my opinion though : )
Yeah, this part was very confusing to me, since there was no connection between Bakura and the Blue Eyes. The anime added scenes of a young Priest Seto rescuing a young Kisara from slavers, but doing so caused the destruction of his hometown (because of the slavers), but Kisara escaped during that time and that’s why Seto saw the Blue Eyes: it was her Ka protecting Kisara from the disaster around her. At least that’s how I remember it....
Great explanation , always loved watching yu gi oh growing up , haven't completely watched every season , arc and movie ....watching and understanding the timeline really helps getting to know the series even more ....grate job tim keep it up 🙌⭐
The yugioh timeline is actually pretty simple. DM-Zexal happen in order, then there's a time psradox caused by Zarc, creating 4 new timelines in arc V.
Yes, and the 4 new timelines in Arc V are all roughly based on said series "Standard" aka Pendulum = closest thing to the original timeline, as all 3 earlier mechanics exist, it's basically the DM timeline but Yugi and gang either don't exist or are in an entirely different part of Japan. Fusion = a new timeline where none of the newer mechanics exist - it's essentially a GX timeline except "what if Duel Academy was evil". Though it seems to be implied that the only reason this Duel Academy is evil is because of Leo Akiba's meddling. Synchro is a new timeline where only Synchro monsters exist - it's a 5Ds timeline that seems to take place in its version of right before 5Ds would actually take place. Jack is out of the satellite but hasn't been discovered by Goodwin just yet (it's implied that he would be after the events of Arc V). Signers exist but Jack seems to be the only one who has access to his Signer based "BS magical power" (to quote YGOTAS) up to this point. Just like Duel Academy's history being meddled with by Leo, an agent of Fusion whose name I'm forgetting atm meddled with Synchro's history, and seems to have replaced Goodwin's role in Jack Atlas's S1 5Ds story. XYZ is, again, a new timeline where only XYZ monsters exist and is loosely based on Zexal, with its home city being the same as Zexal's city (similar to New Domino and Duel Academy). I haven't watched Zexal, so I can't talk about what is or isn't different. I will say that whatever the main plot of Zexal was, the reason it either hasn't happened yet or there's very little evidence for it happening is most likely due to Heartland(?) City from Zexal being destroyed by Fusion Dimension, which would naturally kill any potential story that Yuma takes part in if it happened before Zexal S1 E1.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 Xyz takes place in the same city as Zexal but it was destroyed by Obelisk force, so it's barely recognizable. It's clear that the writers of arc V watched 5d's but didn't watch GX or Zexal so they altered those locations a lot
Should have ended with a Duck Dodgers gag... Something like: "Ok, everybody got that?" And the someone off screen screams: "Yes!" And the he just looks back to the board completely baffled and asks: "How the hell did you understood that?"
Yup, the episode where Judai (Jaden Yuki) duels Yugi Moto only aired in the japanese version of the anime. I wish they kept making the official English Dub of those Japanese GX episodes.
The reason why Yugi acts like he doesn't know Jaden, is because the Yugi in the Bonds Beyond Time, take place a bit further back in the timeline before Jaden's duel with him. So in a sense, in the movie this is Yugi's first meeting with Jaden and Yusei from his perspective. Don't forget that time travel is involved, so it's a case wibbly wobbly timey wimey.
@@toumabyakuya3498 he probably pretend that he doesn’t know, in order preserve the timeline, remember when time traveling is involved, you tend to meet someone in the wrong order.
"Season 0" is a fan made designation, it was offically just called "Yu-Gi-Oh!" (1998), whereas the series that followed was called "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters".
Dub version was better in my opinion but I don't blame you guys not liking it because it was censored and same op. jp op,Ed its ok but hyperdrive love it more
Jaden and Yusai went to meet Yugi before the Duelest Kingdom Tournament. The reason I say that is because during the Bond Before Time movie, Pegasus did not know Yugi Moto. I also believe that Pegasus still has his Millennium eye.

Let me get something straight. You feel the need to clarify the difference between the Japanese and English dubbed pronunciation of "Zexal" yet you pronounce "5Ds" as "five de es"?
For those who didn't get the "... his name was Atem all along...", Atem means Pharao. So yeah... I have to agree with the others. If you read the Manga, you can somehow understand the timeline. This vid contains so many errors >_>
I have been lost on the timeline since GX, to be honest. It threw me so bad when I began to binge 5Ds...and found a place utterly unlike what had officially just finished. Why was the city in such a bad state? Kaiba, Yugi and company, and Pegasus are dead/nowhere to be found, and then Ushio, fricken Ushio becomes a part of the show. This attempt at a time line is far better than any than I could think of, even if the gap between the OG Kaiba Corp and Moment seems way too fast. But hey what do I know? I am just here for lore. Part of me refuses to believe Kaiba didn't go out in a very Kaiba like way :) Personally I agree that it Judai vs Yugi was a vision (a very hype one, not going to lie). Listening to dub names is painful. :(

Actually, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was once just a girl. It wasn't a dude. It was a girl.
Yes, her name was Kisara. Maiden with eyes of blue is a card based on her.

Some things I feel compelled to mention...
Zero-Reverse happened at 2002~2003(meaning Domino City was destroyed before 2005 when Judai saw it, making this one of the biggest mysteries in Yugioh canon)
It was never actually clarified that Judai traveled back in time to duel Yugi.

19:00 in the Japanese anime and manga it's made quite clear that it's a tabletop RPG based on the past but the moment Atem, Bakura and Yugi and the gang start making choices they are basically making events happen that never happened in the past (or at least not in that exact way)
Imagine finishing reading lord of the rings and then starting a pen and paper RPG session halfway into the setting/story, there's a set chain of events that happened up to this point and if the players make the exact same choices as the characters in the books did the events will play out the same way. More likely though your players will be making slight if not entirely different choices at this point.
Atem was an entirely different person at the time then he is when we see him go back to the past, because Yugi and friends taught him compassion
Don't forget that Bakura/Zorc has a specific goal: To break the spell Atem placed upon him that sealed him away, for which he needs the Millennium items and needs to know Atem's true name, for which he has to search the Pharaoh's memory, who doesn't remember either.

You tried, but I'll some clear things up:
The Yugioh manga starts in 1996 (Yugi and co. are 16) and ends in October 1998.

I have never heard of this page and once I saw you sit down with a Yu-Gi-Oh mask I am now hooked
The yugioh timeline is actually pretty simple. DM-Zexal happen in order, then there's a time psradox caused by Zarc, creating 4 new timelines in arc V.
Yes, and the 4 new timelines in Arc V are all roughly based on said series
"Standard" aka Pendulum = closest thing to the original timeline, as all 3 earlier mechanics exist, it's basically the DM timeline but Yugi and gang either don't exist or are in an entirely different part of Japan.

Fun fact in Japan calling someone by their surname is normal (even multiple different people) so he technically was not incorrect.
Pyramid of Light Movie: Am I a joke to you? (Occurs in the timeline after the Battle City Arc but before the next season starts)
Remember that Yugi also shows that he doesn't know Judai when the later appears to fight him in the past at the end of GX.
@@toumabyakuya3498 he probably pretend that he doesn’t know, in order preserve the timeline, remember when time traveling is involved, you tend to meet someone in the wrong order.
@@kevintran5901 I mean, yeah, that is a good guess, however, there's no evidence that that is the case.

This is why the original YGO (DM) is the best. It actually made sense and had a solid story, not like the other ones after it.
Hey, he doesn't make the timelines, he summaries them.
@@rickurena6076 now it's just sad
i'm glad he mentioned yugioh everything he's great at everything.
12:46 ah yes. My favorite character. I s h t a r
Jaden and Yusai went to meet Yugi before the Duelest Kingdom Tournament. The reason I say that is because during the Bond Before Time movie, Pegasus did not know Yugi Moto. I also believe that Pegasus still has his Millennium eye.
No, they went to meet Yugi right before Battle City starts. That’s why YuGi didn’t play any God Cards in the movie

OMG YES! They talk about Trudge! for a few years i never realize he was that bully from OG Yu-Gi-Oh! when i found out it blow my mind XD When he was talking about how 5D's connect to the OG i was like besides the 3D movie you just need to mention Trudge but no one ever brings that up about him and i just always found his connection with both shows interesting

Part of me refuses to believe Kaiba didn't go out in a very Kaiba like way :)
Personally I agree that it Judai vs Yugi was a vision (a very hype one, not going to lie).
Listening to dub names is painful. :(
Thank you definitely subscribing
