I am not broker. This video is for entertainment only.
In my defense of the title, possibly being misconstrued as Clickbait, the video was not performing well at all with a typical picture of a sailboat and a description saying look at this beautiful vessel so I changed the title and thumbnail and now the video is performing extremely well and if you pay attention, it’s not Clickbait either way thanks for watching.
A little history;
Edward Samuel Brewer (Ted)
January 15, 1933 - September 30, 2021
Ted popularized fin keels at a time when most cruisers had full keels. His efforts to cut away as much keel as possible resulted in the "Brewer Bite," one of his signature design features. He also pioneered a radius bilge method for building metal hulls in the 1970s.
In 1979 Ted moved to Washington state. Over the next 20 years, he produced 160 more designs including the Whitby 55 ketch, the 45' schooner Sophia Christina and the 70' schooner Tree of Life, winner of the 2000 Antigua Race Week and named the most beautiful yacht of her class by Cruising World Magazine.

Perfection! Would love to hear @ironlady tell the tales of his travels. If she were mine, not sure if I’d be able to let her go for any price. It’s got to be difficult to walk away. The next owner will have an amazing vessel for their adventures.
A proper yacht. The attention to detail with everything designed for maintenance, no rust traps or through-deck fastenings, is so impressive.
You obviously have taken care of boats before and water/ rust traps is the death of a metal boat- very observant on your part. Another big plus of a proper steel boat is NO BLISTERS!
In the 1890s, when Joshua Slocum sailed through the Strait of Magellan, he spread tacks on the deck of the Spray to keep from being boarded at night. The alarm system was the howling of the pirates as they scrambled to get back off the craft : )
Good stuff
@@HarborPilotYachtTours Thank you
Bazooka! Pirate deterrent!
Oh my, how heavenly. Whoever buys it will benefit from all his smart design. Absolutely beautiful. Love that the motor is near the center, just like a Sparkman & Stephens 34.
YOU ARE ONE COOL DUDE GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Bullet Proof off shore cruising. Nicely done mate.

I’ve never seen such a well thought out, practical boat before. I’m absolutely mind blown right now. Very intelligent man! Only if I had the money! 😅😮👍
I like the good old USA comments best place from someone who has been around the world. The boat is very practical and good looking.
Agreed
But as you know the good old USA is fading fast- the conundrum is there is only one “ America” thus there is no other place to go to.
What a fantastic boat. It's so clear that design has followed function directed by experience. Just outstanding.
I’m a New Zealander and I’m not particularly fond of the politics either. Lovely yacht, need politicians like her, solid, honest and dependable.
Good comment as we were there when “cradle grave “Helen Clark was defeated by John Key and they were trying to get rid of the “ negative tall poppy syndrome” with a campaign of “ be A tall Poppy”-
@@IronLady-ej3dpI've been here since 61 Robert Muldoon and his ' think big" projects were awesome, things got done with number 8 wire mentality, but it was no nonsense action without nuclear power. Now we have to steer a God fearing course but were on the right track for a welcome change of fresh air.

WOW ! What an Amazing Boat. Top notch workmanship and attention to detail !~ Love this !
I have heard many times that there is no such thing as a perfect boat. They were wrong. This is the perfect boat imo. Everything is been thought of. 💯
Incredibly beautifully built ship.
Thank you for sharing.
I’m not a boater sailer or even deep water lover. But I love craftsmanship, style and functionality. This has them all!
Congrats on the build sir.
What a gorgeous sailboat! Top her off and the world is yours. She's safe and strong too! Lovely sailboat!
What an incredible vessel. You can tell a lot of legitimate thought went into her. It’s really perfect. Wish I could call it my own…
I wish this man the best of luck. It sounds like he or his wife has a medical issue. I'm glad they got the experience of cruising the world.
This is how I want to spend my retirement!!! Perfect boat/home.
This owner is a highly competent man.
Thats a well cared for boat. One of a kind.I am from usa but dont care for the politics. My favorite places are fiji and indonesia. Currently in thailand.
Wow, this is better than a new boat because it has been tested at sea.
A fraction of the cost too.
Gorgeous! Classy. Thanks for the tour, guys!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic details in this meticulously maintained boat. Thank you for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it. This is one of a kind owner and boat. I wish I could find more like them.

I am not a sailor at all, though I've tried, but that in my eyes, is a beautiful boat
It really is most sailboats I’ve been on feel like a cave this is a special boat.
Very cool boat
Beautiful. I'll have to keep doing the lottery!

Wow, Great boat, Owner is a boss!
I am far too poor to ever
be able afford this, however my notable comments are:
Im 62, what you’ve done is still my dream, it is quickly turning into fading fantasy.
I am director of Fabrication for a company that designs and builds Museums throughout the USA. I’m involved with all disciplines from design, engineering and manage fabrication working with the finest skilled craftsmen in the world. I personally feel I am at the absolute top of the game in woodworking myself.
My fantasy of living aboard and sailing abroad now includes visions of that finely designed/constructed vessel “Iron Mistress”. A mistress ones wife cannot be jealous of.
How a Man can accomplish becoming a Doctor and living your life in the 4th quarter exemplifies success. I hope you are a humble man and right with God because if so my friend, you have lived a truly blessed life.
I implore you sir Please pay it forward somewhere, somehow and ….
Thanks for the upgrade in my fantasy!
Nice!
Selling what you lived your dream in must be the hardest thing you’ve ever done. I hope the next owner appreciates that fact.
This sailor would buy this boat in a heart beat if only I could afford it.
You can.
New digital system coming.
XRP is the new digital reserve currency.
Buy as much as possible
Wow..this is one impressive boat. Would love to own it.
That is a friggin cool lady!
It was impeccable
What an awesome sailboat the z good Doctor clearly knew what he was doing I mean a 38,000 mile circumnavigation is really a pass fail operation..he clear passed.
I am not a sailor but what is the boat listed for ???
I like his style.
Yes he knows his stuff.
@@HarborPilotYachtTours happily subscribed. Nice work.
@@anthonymaddison9588 Welcome aboard!
I'm in love, and would love to have her, but buying this boat would be like stealing this man's wife.
A buddy bought a 4 barrel 357 derringer for pirates. He figured he'd be still be dead but at least he could have a chance at sinking their boat first.
really nice boat!
We agree!
Lovely boat, greatings from Norway
Iron Mistress would love Norway!
@@IronLady-ej3dp As an earlier shipbuilder, you have done perfection. If I only had the money for it. I keep to the window shopping😀
We had other ways to deal with them but I'm not going to talk about that!
Best part of the video 👍
You got it
What goes to sea stays at sea- applies here
My boat is at the Marina where this boat came from in NH, but I'm just a poor guy with a 31' Bombay Clipper liveaboard. I don't need the hatches with bars because my subwooofer isn't top of the line and nobody will want it ...
That is a beautiful boat. Inside and out. Full or skeg/fin
Cutaway full keel- built that way for maneuvering and without the “ Brewer bite” so she has a bigger fuel tank which is in the aft section of the keel
@@IronLady-ej3dp Ok, thanks. That keeps the weight of the fuel down low too.
Good point- 150 gallons at 7 lbs per gallon is a whole lot of weight so nice to have it at the lowest point
@@IronLady-ej3dp Yes wonderful. My CAl ll-46 carried 270 gals. All low down. When you see a boat advertised as a Blue water cruiser and they only have 50-60 gals of diesel but 120-200= gals of water, I say that you can make water, but you cant make diesel.

No AC? the perfect? boat and no AC? Ok…. Looks really great & I love the sound of that perfect fan.
From NE - no need. Tradewind sailing also not necessary. I love a/c but need AC power to use it.Nice to have in a marina though. I have never noticed a cruising sailboat at anchor running a generator for a/c.I live in Florida now and we don’t use the boat in the summer- just to hot in general. She has a big air cooled a/c unit running from May to October to keep her dry inside.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for watching.
"Not a fan of the politics" - re New Zealand - Wise man, could not have said it better myself.
15:45 I think it is easier to diagnose the faults when the wires of Earthing are at one place, can trace easier and replace easier and also not confused if wire is elsewhere have to find it could be anywhere along the lines.

That is true however the real reason is to prevent electrolysis. How does the motor start without being grounded? There is a solenoid for the ground that grounds the motor just for the instance of starting. The second the key is let go the solenoid disengages the motor ground and goes back to the “floating” ground system. She even has two pole isolated Balmar alternators. A regular alternator( which is case grounded to the motor ) will not work. Hope that makes sense
I’ll take it! Whatever the cost! The perfect cruiser. OR I’ll stick the boat I have because honestly I can’t afford this amazing boat.
Nice to dream. I want a beaver tail skiff $70k but I’ll stick with my $7k Carolina skiff.
great boat, is she for sale again?
The aft wheel would drive me crazy.
the off center companionway is a safety hazard. knockdown on that side can severely flood cabin, and extended knockdown can be a sinking.
BTW there are many boats with offset companionways ( Rhodes Reliants, Mason 44 and 43 etc. it’s done for larger aft cabins. There is no record of that being a safety hazard and ABYC doesn’t even consider it. In addition she has a waterproof companionway hatch( no turtle) and I inch bulletproof lexan companionway boards- no way she can sink. They are always in place in nasty weather no different form any other yacht in heavy weather
Every chsndelry is full of pirates is my experience so far !
Cha ching $$$$
I'm a Kiwi and love New Zealand it is such a beautiful place, funny you mention the politics here, I'm building a boat to sail away from the day to day here
There's nothing more than I can say about this boat it is just fantastic there's one thing I need to know because I'm looking hard is how much is this boat please let me know I'm interested very interested
my bet is this owner is an engineer.(or farmer but I repeat myself) such attention to detail and ship shape. only wish I could buy it and sail away
He says he’s a retired doctor
Retired Doctor Who like the industrial arts.
An engineer wouldn’t have the common sense to learn how to sail, and that is taught by trial and error.

Was that a boom brake you showed for 2.3 ms? My nervous system could not record it. If it is, tell me the best one to get and where, thanks.
The brand is WALDER- however many other manufacturers make them today. Basic design but as mentioned really works. When you look at a boat and the gooseneck is bent- it’s because of a accidental gybe-dangerous
@@IronLady-ej3dp thanks a lot.. I am very conscious of this danger, I go out by myself in the Java Sea, sudden winds from who knows where are normal.
@@IronLady-ej3dp Have ordered the Walder 203 for my CN32, thanks again, and regards...
how much? first question, right
Greetings, What was the name of the marinea, the boat was built?
Mooney Marine in Deltaville Va USA- no longer in business as building steel boats is no longer profitable and the future “luxury” tax killed most small yards - until the idiots who imposed it had it repealed
603 baby!!
Beautiful boat. What is the asking price?
USD $175,000
That was posted by the broker and is incorrect- it is asking 185k - Thanks for pointing that out
Damn, you tricked me with the barely relevant title but also damn that is a nice boat. I just forgot what your channel was about!
Had to do it. The standard side profile pic was going nowhere so I used a (audience engaging title) aka clickbait to get people to see what a great boat this is and it worked. Thanks for watching
@@HarborPilotYachtTours Fair play!
Lol, one of the few times I didn't mind being scammed :)
How do you generate power when at anchor? I don't see any solar panels.
Rich people just start the main engine to charge. No need for solar panel. Just VISA/ AMEX
She has 1000 amp hours of deep cycle batteries/ motor is run 2 hours a day which charges them, makes water and bring down the holding plates. No need for a separate generator as she has 370 amps from her alternators. Solar panels could be added to help with electricity drain while passage making
No sailing any more? Cold turkey? Not even a sunfish? Hmmmm sounds interesting.
Must be already sold.
Holding plate refrigeration is ABSURD
I dont get the stove orientation, no gimbal?
No need as we use deep pots and the stove has securing braces for pots- gimbals are great but safer to have stove midline as nothing can spill on you when she rolls side to side beyond the end ranges of the gimbals. That’s a good question- you are very observant but I can honestly say after 150,000nm we have had no problems with that orientation.
Thanks for commenting
dosent the cooker gimble the wrong way???
Not gimbaled even though it is a gimbaled stove. We use deep pots at sea with holders that secure the pots- no problems, plus if boat rolls really badly nothing can spill on you this way opposed to a gimbaled stove( if it hit the end of its gimbaled range). Good question.
I wouldn’t say the politics in the US are that great either.
I agree now
I agree we are now the laughing stock of the world- my comments were made around 2006
I was just curious as to which waters were hostile and why is he not going to be sailing anymore?
Mostly third world countries you have to pass through where sailboats are floating ATMS to a lot of unscrupulous people. Not voyaging anymore due to aging- no health concerns involved- just have other things to do. We have friends who were stabbed, terrorized and sexually abused- that does not happen if you are prepared
@@IronLady-ej3dp Yes very alarming... I think Interpol has to intervene there and crack down on these people!.. Every port should have an office manned by international law enforcement to catch those who are up to no good and have a billboard advertising the office when they approach customs!. You should contact them and suggest that to them because these countries are turning people off from sailing around the world!.. I think they would help out there!.. Thanks!
@@J.Paul2023 Very optimistic I'm afraid. The crimes are generally too small and it is difficult to identify the person. If the crime is bigger and/or the person suspects they can be identified they will probably kill you to avoid hassles and scuttle the boat. As with any unsavory element your best bet is to avoid contact and if contact occurs stay out of direct reach which is why there are barred hatches and additional unspecified measures.
@@danielboughton3624 I disagree, it's always better to do something than to not do anything..
@@IronLady-ej3dp why not tell us the most important parts of self defense? Kind of makes this video "click-baity" withholding that part.
The only things you said was have bars on the hatches and infra red detectors on deck. That doesn't stop someone from shooting thru those hatches and taking a crowbar to your companionway hatch and getting in.
Must be nice to have braid unlimited.
Lots of hidey holes for those unmentionable other means of security.
