I loved him with the Eagles. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert on the Hell Freezes Tour. I have all his Solo CD's I miss his Voice. He was a Great Musician and Songwriter
Rest in piece Glenn! I think that your music memory will live forever! Such a great musician givin' one hell of jazz performances with this beautiful song. Every time I listen to it, I think that I'm covered by the "shadow of his smile", right up from the music Heaven he composed and sung for us all!
Love it, always loved this song. Way back when Johnny Mathis sang it. The Sax turns it into a true love song. I listen to it over and over again. ❤️❤️❤️
Glenn Frey has once again shown just how much of a master of the song he is. He has repackaged these After Hours classics and brought them to a whole new Generation. And he has done a superb job in it! Classic nostalgia fused with modern arrangements and intricate chord patterns. Only a maestro could do it! Thanks for the music Glenn.
No matter how many times I listen to this I'm still amazed. Until I accidentally came across this I had no idea Glen Frey did this style of music. It's so beautiful and haunting. I just love it.
I've been sitting around for the past couple of days not believing Frey is gone...it dawned on me that this is what my generation has to look forward to over the next 10 to 20 years...I've seen the Eagles 18 times..it weighs on me that I'll never get to see them again..it just wouldn't be the same..Rest In Peace, Glenn...you made the word a better place to live in...
I saw the Eagles in Dallas last year. I had seen then 7 times prior starting in 96 and listened to them for years. I was a LITTLE different but Don is still Don, Tim still hits those high parts like always, Joe still plays as well as ever and Stu can play any Eagles song better than Don Felder ever thought about doing it. Vince Gill does those songs where Glenn would have had the lead quite well. It was WELL WORTH the Trip, if you get the chance GO
This is one of the most romantic and sweet songs ever created but only Glenn Frey does it justice. This is exactly the way this should be sung. I searched other singers to see how they interpreted it but not Perry Como or Frank SInatra could put so much meaning in to it. This song haunts you especially when sung in this way.
I grew up listening to these songs, watching my Dad sing this on stage at the high class restaurants in Del Mar. Thanks for the memories Glenn. Great music
His voice was meant for this style of music, which suited him beautifully. RIP Glenn. We'll miss the shadow of your own smile, and all the beautiful songs that you left behind for us to love and always cherish.
I think he could have made any song sound better, great singer when you dont compare technicalities, only listen to a good sound. Really cool how he pulled this album off, what a genius.
It's been almost 6 weeks since Glenn passed away...and the tears still come. Beautiful, golden voice, supreme talent....ah, the world is so much more a poorer place without you, Glenn Frey. Thank God we will always have your music!
what Glenn was able to do as a Midwest boy is just amazing that's why I respect him so much. This song is a master piece and I have read some very jealous responses.Glenn did a lot in his lifetime so my hat is off to him and I thank him for recording this amazing album that touched me in a profound way at just the perfect time in my life .Cause after 32 years of marriage my wife left me alone .God bless Glenn Frey!!!!
Wow, I almost did not tap on this. Very impressed with a rockin singing with such tenderness and its Jazz. Some people can do it well regardless of their genre. Listening those pipes as he ades out of the song.
Thank you Glenn for this masterpiece, there will always be the haters who are jealous that you trampled on there territory of pop standards and excelled! You was a true artist and I enjoyed the whole journey as I aged right along with you through all your musical changes with great interest. May you rest in peace and see the face of Christ in his glory my friend.
Glenn really shows his chops here. This is such a perfect performance. We truly miss this talent here in this world, but hopefully on the other side, we'll get one heck of a concert...
This is lovely! My parents used to play this song sung by Andy Williams back in the day at their dinner parties. Words can’t describe how I feel about hearing this.
I can hear that YOUNG 26 yr old Glenn singing........Man i am really going to miss this guy...I missed him from the day he left us. thinking about him makes my shoulders droop and a sad feeling overwhelms me. Glad he was able to make this album for his parents while they were here to enjoy it.
Having seen The Eagles in my town back in 2010 and 2013 they were incredible concerts with the guys performing Eagles music along with all their individual solo hits!!! Glenn's After Hours came out in 2012 and I immediately bought it because the songs were what I heard as a kid and from my parent's generation... This CD is exceptional because of the music and Glenn's incredible voice! I would urge anyone who is a fan of these love songs go buy the CD or download from itunes, it's that good.....
Thank you Glenn for leaving us this wonderful album and so masterfully done,it has become my favorite as an older man at 65.My wish is that you are happy and at peace my friend in the here after, you used the talent the Creator gave you right up to the end so I will always listen and and have a glass of wine and think of you.
I love Glenn Frey rendition of the Shadow of your Smile, it's mellow, gentle, and very romantic! I can listen to it every night before I sleep, very inspirational to me.
A true musician to the core. Glen Frey lived the life a lot of us wish we could. Making music and having fun doing it. A full life indeed. My he long be remembered.
No one can ever say this man couldn't sing. And for all you who thumbs downed this, maybe this particular song isn't to your liking, but you gotta admit his voice is beautiful & he did a wonderful jog. RIP Glenn Frye. You are so very missed.
....This kind of Music ... Classic and lovely, what a treat that he did these beautiful songs .. and superbly done. I believe his voice is suited so well to this and bringing these songs to a Generation to listen to and appreciate. Glenn, you are missed, ...however, the Angels are entertained and your legacy on the Earthly Plane lives on. 🙏🏻✨️💫🎤💗
another great example of how those who can pick a good song are drawn to this song. it has been recorded by so many great musicians. each does it his own way but the beauty just wells up and out. then there are these lyrics. they trace what comes from the soul and says this is how i love you, life and myself. frey is a classical performer backed by a great combo.
I never thought I'd want to hear anyone besides Sinatra sing this, but...wow. Love that he tackles the great American Songbook with so much respect and sincerity. Awesome. Rest in peace, Glenn.
This guy's a born legend. Have heard this song so many times/covers over the last 5 decades and this is the best ever. Still vibrates my mind and tingles my spine. Transporting back to memory lane, simply magical.
Damn, he was so talented. It just ain't the same with him gone. He did a beautiful job on this old standard, not an easy accomplishment for a pop rocker to pull off. RIP old buddy!!
Well, I never thought I'd hear an Eagle doing The Shadow of Your Smile. Mr. Frey does a credible job with the song. He doesn't quite wrest it away from Tony Bennett, but it's a beautiful arrangement and a sensitive vocal performance. Along with Don Henley, Glenn Frey wrote Lyin' Eyes, and Mr. Frey sang lead vocal on that song, which is my all-time favorite Eagles song.
I love that Glenn ventured into this style of music... Its the music my Mom would listen to and make me dance with her in the kitchen..... Glenn sounds wonderful... Still missing you GF... RIP sweet man xo
Glenn Frey was a class act. He could rock with the Best, And do classy Standards like this one. He may be gone but his music will never stop being heard. God Bless Mr. Frey
This is the first time I've ever seen or heard this! It's not what I'm used to hearing from him. But the more I listened to it .... Wow that's my Glenn! He felt his music and got into it! That's why I love him still! ❤️
Pure loveliness. Makes me think of my mom, she so loved music like this. I have this album, all the songs are "gorgeous" Glenn Frey sings all these song so beautifully. Thank you Glenn Frey and thanks to all you beautiful musicians. Thanks for posting.
Frey reached a stage in life where he could attack this song, hold his own and put an edge on it you seldom hear. You want to know what to do ? Try to write something like this That is, music/lyrics and arrangement. Then you can say you created magic.
Wow, I've always liked Mr. Frey with the Eagles, but, I've never heard him sing like this. Lovely. Rest in peace.
I loved him with the Eagles. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert on the Hell Freezes Tour.
I have all his Solo CD's
I miss his Voice. He was a Great Musician and Songwriter
Somebody here, 2024? ❤ Such a beautiful voice and such a magical song!❤
well I am surprised and delighted by this performance! I had no idea he could sing like that.
Oh, yes. You're right. Quite magical.
Here I'm...magic voice, a great singer...all his life ❤❤❤❤❤
He saved the best for last!!

Oh man, his voice and that sax just make this piece. Glad there are still people keeping music like this alive. God, it's amazing.
I agree! What a captivating rendition of this classic! I love the piano 😋accompaniment
Love it, always loved this song. Way back when Johnny Mathis sang it. The Sax turns it into a true love song. I listen to it over and over again. ❤️❤️❤️

Ever hear Steven Tyler ( Aerosmith ) sing Charlie Chaplins SMILE. To his Dad in the Audience ?

His voice was meant for this style of music, which suited him beautifully.
RIP Glenn. We'll miss the shadow of your own smile, and all the beautiful songs that you left behind for us to love and always cherish.

Hi
the sound on this is not the quality he deserves.

What a beautiful version of an old classic!
He nailed it. Great album of standard and pop classics. His version of Brian Wilson's "Caroline No" is so heartfelt. RIP sir.
Absolutely beautiful , Glenn ! One of my absolute favorite standards , gorgeously rendered and emotionally charged gem. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glenn really shows his chops here. This is such a perfect performance. We truly miss this talent here in this world, but hopefully on the other side, we'll get one heck of a concert...

Different and an older and more sophisticated side of Glenn Frey. This album is so wonderful. This video makes me want to hug him. 👼
Hey
Beautiful and soothing voice by a wonderful artist Glenn.
Will remember you, Glenn Frey. Beautiful song! Rest in peace!
Perhaps the greatest solo performance and band accompaniment ever.
Great job. I've played this song many times (as a guitarist), but I love the lyrics as well. I never watched the original movie but I should.
No one can ever say this man couldn't sing. And for all you who thumbs downed this, maybe this particular song isn't to your liking, but you gotta admit his voice is beautiful & he did a wonderful jog. RIP Glenn Frye. You are so very missed.
Precious soul.
Always heard Nat King Cole sing this, but wow, Glenn really delivers.

Bravo! Glen brought it all with his heartfelt version of one of my favorite songs.
I don't know what ever compelled Glenn to do this album, but I am so grateful! What a voice! What a loss.😥
He said he did these standards for his Mom.
God how I miss this guy! Beautiful rendition...
Outside of Eagles, this is by far Glenn at his best. Great album. Wish we could've had more.
This was my Mothers favorite song. Everytime I hear it, I think of her.
I never thought I'd want to hear anyone besides Sinatra sing this, but...wow. Love that he tackles the great American Songbook with so much respect and sincerity. Awesome. Rest in peace, Glenn.
Might want to check out the Tony Bennett version. I think it's considered the quintessential recording of this song, but Glenn really nailed it too.
Engelbert Humperdink's version is the one I grew up on. Lovely. 🥀
Glen Frey could sing anything. ANYthing. This is the first time I've listened to this. Love it.
The echoes of your songs - when you are gone.
Perfecto. Te restaura los chakras. Música, voz, cámaras, edición… Maravilloso👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This guy's a born legend. Have heard this song so many times/covers over the last 5 decades and this is the best ever. Still vibrates my mind and tingles my spine. Transporting back to memory lane, simply magical.
I've watched this a hundred times... never realized glen could nail such a classic.
This is such a beautiful song. He does it so very well. It's wonderful, and not the music he was known for. God be with him.

This song is the greatest for those that loved shared and departed.
