SPRING Social Prescribing in the Borders (Sam)

Health in Mind is one of 30 community-led organisations delivering the SPRING Social Prescribing Project. Over the last two years, we have empowered adults in the Scottish Borders to improve their health and wellbeing. We did this by facilitating a holistic health care experience by bridging the gap between medical and non-medical health care needs. The long-term goal of SPRING Social Prescribing is to support and enable the culture shift from the medical model to incorporate the social model because there is increased recognition and awareness that the social model of health can greatly reduce the pressure on frontline NHS services and have a long term and sustainable impact for the patient.
We have chosen to create this video to welcome you into the world of Social Prescribing in the Scottish borders and demonstrate how people are responding to it. We also want to share the Spring Social Prescribing vision to help you understand how effective this revolutionary model can be to how we approach health care. We are very excited to introduce you to Sam who has kindly shared his experience to offer you some insight into this.
