I'm not much on words when I'm playing! But it was a lot of fun to get to play with the great people in Knoxville.

I love music when there is only one instrument the best. This was fabulous.
Wow. You turn a bluegrass standard into danceable jazz! A true magician!
Bravo! That's fantastic!
Well Stephen, you truly rock!
AWESOME!!! I play the Dulcimer, and that is my all time favorite tune to play on it! Great Job!
Woooo! This is some inspired playing. Thanks Stephen! Amazing. I was boppin' right along with ya.
I was lucky enough to see Stephen Seifert yesterday evening

Fantastic
Very nice
Professional!!
Sweet! Love the HD - you can actually see your strum, as opposed to a blur. : )
Way Cool! Mind sharing the tuning you used here? Do you have the blues fret added in ….besides the regular Dulcimer scale? Forget what it's called right now…… Thanks
The tuning is definitely DAD. As regards the scale, I'd imagine there's a 6 1/2 fret, as well as a flattened 3rd fret, were the second long fret is split in half to get a second fret and 2 1/2 fret if you get me.
I'm in DAD here with string gauges 26, 16, and 12. That instrument has a 1½ fret which is probably the blues fret you're talking about. I MOSTLY play a diatonic with the 6 ½ fret added. (and the octave 13 ½) I also enjoy chromatically fretted dulcimers, but my festival work is almost always on the diatonic with 6 ½.
Is this on one of your lessons? We play this all the time at my mixed breed (HD/MD) jams, and if you taught it, I might switch! :D Cheers
I'm pretty sure this is just a video from one of my concerts. I think this was Knoxville, TN.
Is this in DAD tuning? Great tune on Dulcimer!
Yes. This particular instrument has a 1 ½ fret.
Is there any tune that you have made unrecognizable?
I make MANY unrecognizable. It's a way of life. Music is the best.
Stephen, are you playing a chromatic dulcimer?
I believe this dulcimer is a diatonic with the added 6.5 and 1.5 frets.
I can't see but is that diatonic?
Looks to be a diatonic with some add ons (1and 1/2 and 6 and 1/2). At least that's what it looked like to me.
Yes, but in addition to the added 6 ½ fret, this one has a 1 ½ fret. I typically don't use a 1 ½, but I do SOMETIMES play a fully chromatic. Mostly I'm diatonic with the 6 ½.
Knoxville? As in TN?
