    These people just need some good leadership. You can't stop that many people from getting what they want( deserve). As long as they stick together. Unlike in the U.S. where everyone is divided.

      Going in the streets accomplishes nothing, I hate to say. Blockades like Mauna Kea, and strikes, are different. They put them over a barrel. But protests just go nowhere, and only cause more dissention. It's not socialism that's to blame for Venezuela. They were fine under Chavez. It was the oil prices collapse. The problem is, what do they do, now? I suggest they issue a new currency, start over with a Sweden-type economy that is less extreme. But they'll need a lot of investment capital from outside. They could use their huge oil reserves, seems like. Even with lower prices. And the world bank.

      Russia and China are allied with the Maduro regime. Russia armed the Venezuelan military when Trump threatened to step in. • @qus.9617
      @qus.9617 5 років тому +13

      They let in Russian shipments of medicine. It seems Venezuela is also basing this action from the Cuban USAID project, which Venezuela presumably followed closely. I am not sure but I'm guessing that they won't allow any aid come through as they also cut diplomatic ties with any nations (only Bolivia is anti-Guaido in South America, the majority are anti-Maduro, a select few are neutral) that recognised Guaido as the interim president and probably prefer they send the aid through Maduro's government.
      Venezuela is isolated diplomatically in South America so any such attempts of aid would be seen with hostile intent.

    Can someone give us the details of the US sanction and whether it impacted the food and medicine shortage in Venezuela.

    • @walden6272
      @walden6272 5 років тому

      In order to do international trades esp with oil, you need to use US Dollars. But the US sanctioned Venezuela so they block them from using Dollars so in effect they can't do business with the outside world. So since Venezuela relies on imports for supplies like food and medicine and they have no monetary means to purchase them since US sanction them, this causes shortages and prices to skyrocket and your currency hyper-inflates and becomes worthless as other nation's exporters don't want it since they can't use it. Only thing Venezuela could turn to was using their gold to purchase goods but the Bank of England decides they won't release Venezuela's gold. So now they are screwed.
