Also, MC clearly cares a TON about Firefly, as when Firefly "died", MC was the only character in the room to break down in sadness. Furthermore, if you revisit the same place after she reveals her "secret" to you, the text instead describes the MC's doubting wherever the time she spent with them was genuine or not. And what do you get after finishing seeing that text string? You get a "Sad Gear" and a "Anger Gear", proving the MC's pains over Firefly. My reasoning for being attached to Firefly is not her cute looks, it's because she's suffering despite the "role" she was given. My heart cannot ignore those who suffer. That's where quite a few of my online friendships start. I see someone suffering online, I go to them to comfort them, and our friendship grows from there. It's not me manipulating them, nor giving falsehoods. Suffering is what can have me start a bond with someone. Gosh do I emotionally suffer every day. Regrets, grief, problematic memories of my mistakes of my past I cannot let go of, those are what hurts me emotionally each day
Otto is the type of guy that will destroy everyone's life for his selfish needs but he will do it in a way that everyone will benefit from it in the end. That's why he prepared everyone for the final descent of honkai. He may be a vilain and may all hate him for what he did, but deep down we know that without him we would all be dead... it's a strange feeling
@@oricallium Yup, that's what brought Otto on the path of villainy. His family was utterly horrible to him and were horrible people in general. Kallen was the only light Otto had, and when she died because of him, that broke him, then he spent 500 years, searching for an answer to bring her back, as she was the only light in the crushing darkness of his life. Because of all that, he was willing to sacrifice anyone and anything, if it meant he had hope to potentially reclaim that one glimmer of light that illuminated his life in the painful dark shroud of his life. He doesn't even care if he cannot be with her in the end, as seen in "Thus Spoke Apocalypse". If it meant that one light in the darkness of his life lived once more, that's all he wants. A side effect of this search to bring back that light, was giving humanity the strength needed to confront Honkai itself. His evil actions are unforgivable, don't get me wrong, but I still cannot help but feel sadness for him. He was the first antagonist in general, that I ever cried for. Not because of those he harmed, but because of what he lost that brought him on the path of evil. I dunno, I'm too kind. If anyone wants to hate Otto at all, you're completely valid for hating him, most of what went wrong and those who suffered, was his fault. He is the reason another Himeko died. Why I say another? Because no Himeko in MiHoYo history has ever gone through the stories of their home games, without dying. As much as I want the Himeko death cycle to end, it's very likely only a matter of time till eventually Star Rail's Himeko dies too, given the history of MiHoYo games so far. Based? Based on selfishness and being the exact kind of monster Kallen hated. In fact, the exact kind of monster that led to Kallen's death (since the entire thing was due to Otto's family being so selfishly evil they'd make Hannibal tell'em to chill out). We owe precisely nothing to Otto; he orchestrated a good chunk of the destruction of the human species and the ONLY reason he didn't let everyone die was because it just wouldn't serve his plans. May he rot in pain and agony, as he deserves. He'd even agree he does. Otto is a very well-written villain, but in no way someone to idealize or respect.

Despite it all, Otto chose the single most hardheaded and short-sighted way to help Kallen. Instead of going after his sister (which he could and even admits to), his first thought was "let's release an omnicidal monster in the middle of a residential area".

I really like this summarized story of each character in the Honkai verse. I've never played both HI3 and Star Rail but I'm quite interested in their lore.
Actually both didn't even cause the problems outside harming the casts mental faculties. Neither are simple enough to be heroes or villains. Otto was the more successful one though as Kevin was going for worst case scenario.
Half?! HALF?!?! Thats the biggest understatement i've ever heard!! At least 90% of the problems untill his death were caused by him or had his assistance, including the events caused by world serpent!! Puting the meme, "hate otto understand otto become otto", aside, the reason he is so liked is beacuse he didnt try to justifi his atrocities, he knew he would die as a villain and he wanted to be forgoten by the world, his last "good deed" was making sure the protagonists were mature and powerfull enough to save the world after he died. We hate him, then we understood him, he was not forgiven, but he earned the respect. One of the best writen characters in Hoyoverse

His family were terrible people too. So it's no wonder when the last light in his dark life was put out, that he fell on the path of evil. He knows what he's doing is evil, but he's willing to be the villain if it means bringing back the only light in his life he once had
Naw, Genshin is too happy for great tragedies, that won't happen. It's why I completely quit the game. It was far too happy that I grew bored of it. I don't like people suffering, but at the same time, a story without enough tragedy to make me feel anything, is too boring. fyi, I quit during the Sumeru arc of Genshin, so I at least completed the Inazuma arc that many Genshin players HATE
Hoyo has yet to create an antagonist that would surpass Otto. He's not like Genshin antagonists who lean towards morally gray of different shades. He's not like HSR antagonists who are currently limited by the concept of their paths. I think Aventurine is the most compelling post-Otto antagonist, but I still think that Otto is a better antagonist.
After seeing Firefly die in front of me, I think I get it now. Hell, I would have done worse. We didn't even get to carry her in our arms for one last time.

Save Current Humanity / Deceived the Enemy or God / Became a wall for heroes to surpass/ Graduates current hero and dies/save kallen / died smiling.

This marriage is fake, and it can always stay fake, as long as it can keep you alive... which is what really matters." it still was marriage in which Kallen knows Otto loves her, and Kallen while was not in love with him, did cherish him, can understand that by the way they talked as she was behind the cell's bars before her death. She called him 'my inventor' in one of her quotes, telling him to live for her or something like that. But yes she fell in love with Yae Sakura after everything. At least it makes things more understood, they weren't just close friends, but also not exactly lovers.

Yeah it was a pretty dumb plan. And if I recall, Otto's sister was the one who crammed that plan into his head. At first, he tried to get her out of prison by proposing for marriage but she said no. It'd have been a better move but his family would have had control over the Kaslana blood. In desperation, he released the Honkai so she could escape. But every Kaslana is a hero down to their core so...
That wasn't the only time Otto gave Kallen an out. He gave her plenty of chances before that event even started. This is what led Kallen to find out about his experiments.

Otto is the best villain I've ever seen (I have not seen much, but still), he somehow managed to make me feel bad for him at the end while wanting to rip his face out with my bare hands :)

Based? Based on selfishness and being the exact kind of monster Kallen hated. In fact, the exact kind of monster that led to Kallen's death (since the entire thing was due to Otto's family being so selfishly evil they'd make Hannibal tell'em to chill out).
We owe precisely nothing to Otto; he orchestrated a good chunk of the destruction of the human species and the ONLY reason he didn't let everyone die was because it just wouldn't serve his plans.

He knew it because, if you read the lore, she surrendered when they came to get her. She didn't because she didn't want Otto's sister to kill more people. Despite it all, Otto chose the single most hardheaded and short-sighted way to help Kallen. Instead of going after his sister (which he could and even admits to), his first thought was "let's release an omnicidal monster in the middle of a residential area".

Puting the meme, "hate otto understand otto become otto", aside, the reason he is so liked is beacuse he didnt try to justifi his atrocities, he knew he would die as a villain and he wanted to be forgoten by the world, his last "good deed" was making sure the protagonists were mature and powerfull enough to save the world after he died.

Naw, Genshin is too happy for great tragedies, that won't happen. It's why I completely quit the game. It was far too happy that I grew bored of it. I don't like people suffering, but at the same time, a story without enough tragedy to make me feel anything, is too boring. fyi, I quit during the Sumeru arc of Genshin, so I at least completed the Inazuma arc that many Genshin players HATE

Hoyo has yet to create an antagonist that would surpass Otto. He's not like Genshin antagonists who lean towards morally gray of different shades. He's not like HSR antagonists who are currently limited by the concept of their paths. I think Aventurine is the most compelling post-Otto antagonist, but I still think that Otto is a better antagonist.

This marriage is fake, and it can always stay fake, as long as it can keep you alive... which is what really matters." it still was marriage in which Kallen knows Otto loves her, and Kallen while was not in love with him, did cherish him, can understand that by the way they talked as she was behind the cell's bars before her death.
She called him 'my inventor' in one of her quotes, telling him to live for her or something like that.
But yes she fell in love with Yae Sakura after everything.

Yeah it was a pretty dumb plan. And if I recall, Otto's sister was the one who crammed that plan into his head.
At first, he tried to get her out of prison by proposing for marriage but she said no. It'd have been a better move but his family would have had control over the Kaslana blood.
In desperation, he released the Honkai so she could escape. But every Kaslana is a hero down to their core so...
That wasn't the only time Otto gave Kallen an out. He gave her plenty of chances before that event even started. This is what led Kallen to find out about his experiments.
