I caught the biggest surf perch south by the rocks. Couldn't believe how big they were in August
We went there to razor clam before, but I didn't know there are surf perch too. Good rig tutorial with some nice fish.

Good fish. I use my steelhead rod for surf perch.
Nice catch dude! Lets go surf fishing sometime! In in the Eugene area.
That would be cool! But we're in Portland area.
That would be cool! But we're in Portland area.
Ive tried to do the same with multiple drop hooks on my leader but it got tangled every two to three casts.
Thanks for watching! I had the same.issue. I switched to the high low rig and made the hook loops shorter. I go as short as possible to allow the hook loops to go around the hooks. If I tangle,.I know to make the loops a little shorter. Good idea for a tutorial video. Tight lines!
Good video, great catch on that one. Ask your wife is she knows how to cook them up "Escabeche" - style? They are great in Filipino Sweet and Sour. 😉
Thanks for the tip! will do
WOW ! Nice fish !
Thanks for sharing your gear in the description too. Very helpful!
Is that the only beach in Seaside?
Del Rey Beach is just north of Seaside it's a very long Beach and you can drive you car on parts of it decent fishing too
@@Tesslabeachfishing Yeah, not sure about the crabbing up there. Guess there is the 12th street bridge.
@@theoldbankfisherman you can also have decent luck casting crab snares into the surf at seaside and Del Rey beach
@@Tesslabeachfishing Have you hit Cannon Beach for perch, crabs 🦀
@@theoldbankfisherman yes for perch. Fish down by Mores restaurant ll, lots of structure these. You have stay 1000 feet from haystack rock. I ha e not crabbed at cannon yet. ...now I want to try 😁
