    I was so excited when you announced that you would be doing this video. I need to hand bind a queen size quilt and have been procrastinating because the last small wall hanging I hand bound my fingers were sore for a month. I am a staff floor nurse and having sore fingers is not fun when I have to open pills. I need to get a set of good needles for hand binding.

    Thanks, Cindy, for an excellent needle tutorial. I also watched your border tutorial and am so grateful you talked about the math involved in the coping strips. So thank you for that as well.

    Thanks! Back in my cross stitch days only nickel needles were available. I had peeling fingers all the time. Then gold needles came out, I think the '80's? Game changer for me! Now that I would like to big stitch some of my bindings, nice to know my skin will stay intact!

    You learn something new everyday. I thought a needle was just a needle. Thank you. For quilting is better to use safety pins or straight pins.

    Thank you so very much for your information on sewing machine needles and hand sewing needles. I have a question to ask.Can you tell me what kind of needle to use with what fabric and also what thread to use. I'm a beginner sewer and I just learning technique and what kind of hand sewing needle to use on different fabric. I was hemming a pair of pants for someone, and I think they said it was polyester fabric and and I didn't know what hand needle size to use or type. So I tried one kind that I thought would work but it wound not go through the fabric so Prayerfully the Lord guided me to use a sharp and I was able to sew it. I also would like a guide or video on the different types of fabrics, and how do you can tell in shopping for them what they are. I do better with the video instructions that reading instructions. If you can suggest any videos I would appreciate it. I tried asking in the search bar for videos on what hand needles do you use with what kind of fabric but I don't see any that can tell me. I have help from God but sometimes he guides me to look at videos or a certain website to answer my question, so he guided me to you. Here's yours in Christ. God Bless your work.

    Sorry, I am still confused.
    when I look at the package of needles I see 75/11 and 90/14 on a 130/705 H-Q quilting needle. When would I use the 11's and when the 14's? Thanks. I do a lot of piecing tops that our group donates to various organizations. The fabric is all donated to us.

    So I got one of the Clover desk needle threaders and it doesn't work with any needle I buy. The needle has to have an oval eye, but embroidery needles apparently have too long of an oval. I like a longer bigger needle and usually buy embroidery needles. I bought milliner needles and I couldn't get them threaded easily and then they were so small in circumference they pierced my fingers at the eye end. Which needles are going to fit my preferences and will also work with the needle threader?

    Thank you so much re the titanium needle. I have some that I bought a couple years ago. How long ago did they change the manufacturing?

  • @donnasample7216
    @donnasample7216 3 роки тому +1

    I heard the titanium needles for embroidery machines is bad because they get warm to hot. Fact or fiction?

    • @TheFabricPatch
      @TheFabricPatch  3 роки тому +2

      Yes. They used to make the needles out of the titanium metal and you’re right, they did have some issues. Now they just do the titanium coating over nickel and they’ve had no further issues. All good now. Also the needle would bend and not break. Which caused a lot of damage to machines.

    What size niddle for hand sewing t shirts

    • @TheFabricPatch
      @TheFabricPatch  2 роки тому +1

      It depends on what fits your hand. But I like a milliner size 7. Easy to thread, smooth and doesn’t bend.
