Welcome to this Nothing Else Matters Guitar Tutorial by Metallica!
This one has been heavily requested and it's been a long time coming but I just wanted to make sure I got the lesson right. It's an amazing song for guitarists at any beginner level to learn and covers a whole wide range of techniques. This was actually one of the first songs I tried to learn when I started to play guitar so it brings back a lot of memories.
In this lesson I'll teach you all the fingerpicking parts as well as the guitar solo.

There are a few top tier instructional guitar resources on UA-cam, but this is perfection. The tab overlay, the highlights of which bar and note is being discussed, the perfect amount of recap/review without being tedious, the succinct references to which string and fret without being overwhelming, the organized links and bookmarks to specific sections in the description...

I watch a lot of videos like this. This and all of your videos within the last few years are are the best tutorial channel I have seen. The instruction combined with the tabs along with the fretboard diagram are really something special. For songs like this that come with double stops, hammer ons and pull offs, without your deep instruction I would continue to be lost when learning this song. Well done mate.

Ive had a guitar lesson than 2 days ive got it up to where u hammer on the 8th fret in the intro and i want to rip my face off
Still havent learned shit 2 weeks later but i bought an ibanez cuz i felt like it

This was such a great lesson from an editing stand point as well as thoughtfully explained without overly dwelling on parts, nor moving along too fast. Having the tablature + a guitar neck graphic were extremely helpful, and an underrated aspect of a tutorial - but most underrated of all is your technique! I can’t think of how many tutorials where the teachers fingerings are so ganked-out in muscle cramped looking positions that the view of what they are doing is totally obscured! Very clean(legible?) guitar playing from this guitar teacher! Clean enough, I mostly do not need the tabs - although if they are there, why not use ‘em? 10/10! Bravo sir!
Dave, your tutorials are crystal clear. There are three or four guys out there that really really nailed it and you are definitely one of them. Surely the most didactic from the visual point of view. Excellent work!

Mate i genuinely appreciate you so much, the first song i learnt from your channel was wonderwall when i was a very beginner, and i've used nobody elses guides since about a year and a half on, i still consider myself a beginner (especially when you think about how much there is to truly master guitar) but i can now play songs like under the bridge (sort of only 90% learned it a year ago i struggled with the hammer ons etc) and soul to squeeze and hopefully soon nothing else matters. just appreciate all your time and effort mate so much

Your tutorial is the best! Although sometimes I look for easier way of playing most songs, I believe if I want to learn to play good, your tutorials are the best and most accurate ones available. The tabs, the chords, the timing, the strumming/plucking, it's hard most of the time but if I stick to how you play it I will get there, for real! Can I request a song ? It’s crazy how easy you make it look. I would say it’s probably going to take me about 6 months-1 year to learn this song. Given I have been only playing for 3 months now though. As others have already echoed what a fantastic tutorial video. I've been playing on an off for many years and enjoy finger picking. I learnt the intro to this song a long time ago as it's one of my favourite songs but then I stop learning and lose all that I've learnt. My father passed away a year ago and he gifted me his lovely guitar collection and said how he always loved hearing me play so I've made a conscious effort to get back into it and well I'm so glad I found your channel.
