So cool that you've covered this game! I know Ivan, the solo dev behind it, we had some great chats about his game and game dev in general, he is very open and friendly guy. Also, he learned everything from scratch by himself, pixel art, Unity, coding. I'm learning game dev too, so his story is very important and inspirational to me. Also, he's Russian too, so his example shows that even today it's possible for a Russian to get a nice publisher abroad and take our game to the next level.
That this was made entirely by a solo, is simply incredible. Very inspiring. Kudos to Ivan for showing us what can be achieved with passion and dedication
Kudos, good to see you play a game you really enjoy and where your inspiration comes from 🎉 Merry Christmas and hope to see more great game dev in the New Year
It was great seeing you review this game, it looks awesome! If I may suggest another brutal indie game, it would be Ultrakill. You should give it a buy if you haven't already
Nice ! I saw that game on reddit like 3 years ago and it made me make a run n gun a la contra for a gamejam (and did pretty well, finished 3rd out of 400+) but could never find the game again. Glad to see it kept going and reached a release.
That was great. Ticked so many classic Contra boxes and brought a lot of new things to it as well. I remember playing Contra with my bro as kids. We'd beat it often, but we were never able to do it with 3 lives
@@LostRelicGames they timed it so that its hard to hit them all, you get up to taking them all out but they always pull up and atleast 1-2 letters are left. Try it next time, its much fun
one thing i want to ask you has nothing to do with this video is, i have been watching a video where a guy is playing the orgeon trail game. I have an ok understanding of how to make the flat part of the land but i have been thinking about (not tryed) how they would make the dips in the ground with the horse and cart follow it. I am thinking maybe it has something to do with the image and the 2d collider but for the life of me in my head i can not figure it out. if you or someone else could explain it to me that would be great. one other thing i have been struggling with as well when i do, do projects is understanding data as well like the interaction with the player and the inventory. like i need to understand why it is done the way it is because atm i struggle everytime i get to it because i don't know why or how the data is used that way. anyone with a website or willing to explain please do this one has been holding me back for ages i have look for so long trying to figure this one out not found anything yet explaining it well enough for me.

Btw, good to see you again!
I feel the “sometime you want to jump in and charge”
The game art is very inspiring!
Had this on my wishlist for quite some time, this is probably a sign to buy it 😁
Looks like the lightning power up increase your shooting speed for the current equipped weapon.
Man, after you get to the first boss the game just goes "OK, enough baby games, here's the real deal". It looks amazing.
I love this game. it's my favorite game of 2024
You know that you can shoot "Level Clear" and each letter you hit will break? That's a nice touch :D
I had no idea! Slicker than I thought!

Grest looking game. Tried my hand at pixel art years ago and it requires a lot of knowledge and patience to end up with results like that.
This looks awesome.
Thanks for not notifying me youtube...
This is an incredible game!
contra meets robocop
Definitely channeling stranger things! What a beautiful work of art
I love this one too, its great
It's super fun. I'm keen to jump in again without a camera in my face hehe
