I watched the gameplay for Wuthering Waves a few months ago and it looks like solid fun. It does remind me of Genshin Impact. Folks have got to remember that Twatter cancellations mean nothing in the real world.
I've been playing it for the past week and it's really really fun. The combat system is really good and fluid, the world (and tools for moving around) and characters look great. The only minus would be that it has a lot of talking during the first 30-60 minutes or so, but i didn't mind it much... it can also be skipped easily.

All the stuff you'd expect from GI, but then you got parries and dodges, which actually make the game a bit difficult to master. Far more forgiving than Elden Ring or any souls-like, but the elements are there regardless.

I'm playing WuWa, and it's quite fun. And yeah, Kuro has been handing out the goodies like they're that house at Halloween that's giving out the full size candy bars. Also, Yinlin is clearly the best waifu, but I got Encore as my first 5*, before Yinlin's banner was out. Encore is quite strong, and really adorable. I can't speak to the quality of the English VA, though, since I play with Japanese voice. I recommend WuWa for fans of open world action gachas for sure.
If you play wuthering, some tips!!! 1. If you sprint while climbing, you can parkour over the edges of some building roofs and cliff sides. 2. You can fight and collect boss echos without spending plates on getting the drops as well. 3. Databank has a function where you can search the current level of echos you have (if you can get 3 stars but only have 2 atm) you can get the 2's to 3's to level that, which is also stamina. 4. You can search for any echo, not just currently gotten. Do note a few are locked behind story boss questing but that is very rare. 4. There is a section to teach you character combos, try it out! 5. You can grapple once in mid air, without a set point in the sky without issue. 6. And final, you can switch characters when gliding, plunge attacking, and swimming. Oh, and I forgot. Events let you borrow higher level versions of characters if yours aren't maxed so, give all a shot!
HeroHei as a person who played Kuro's First Game PGR (Punishing Gray Raven), and I'm playing Wuthering Waves ofc. All i have to say is that the combat is way better than genshins, and they actually listen to feed and give out a good amount of rewards and compensation rewards. The story is also great, plus it's still only 1.0 wait till 1.1 releases. One thing Echo Grinding will take a while if ur aiming for perfect rolls. Also if u start playing dont merge the echos u get from killing mobs around the map till data bank lvl 17-19
I don't really care much for Wuthering Waves' combat, but that's partially because the game runs terribly on my rig. Besides that, the movement feels a lot floatier than in Genshin, which is something I very much don't like even if the game did run perfectly.

I play WuWa and am having so much fun! Still can't even get close to the endgame tower mode so it has a lot to offer imo. If you're gonna try it out: play who you like the most bc it's skill based game and meta doesn't matter as much as in other games, unless you like seeing biiig numbers of damage Also don't level up many characters in the start and you will need 3 teams in the endgame (3 characters each) and we don't have many supports in the game yet, so you can freely invest the most in 2 dmg dealers, a bit less into 2 sub dps that suits them and a healer (rn it's Verina or Baizhi but Verina gives so many buffs she's crazy good)

With the way Wuthering waves started the game every player can get up to three 5 star characters (one is random while the other two are the player's choice) not including the MC. It has 2 basic banners a character banner and weapon banner. For the weapon banner you can pick which 5 star weapon you want it to be. There's also 2 limited banners (each uses it's own currency) with the character banner being a 50/50 on the first 5 star pull but the weapon banner is a 100% chance guarantee for the signature weapon when you pull a 5 star on it. Pity is at 80 summons with soft pity being at 60-70 pulls. Instead of relics there's echoes. Each echo could be for a specific element and have any stat (for example heron could be electro or fire). Echoes are recorded in the data bank and you need to upgrade that to get higher rarity echoes (to upgrade them you need to get new echoes and higher rarity echoes you already have. There is of course the milestone rewards for account level, at the last milestone, 45, you get a free 5 star weapon of your choice.
Careena is precious, she's super into what she does and enjoys interacting with the community from her games. To be honest she probably had no idea to expect The Big Crazy from twitter so I can't be surprised that she folded quickly. What do you do when you're first presented with the batsh* insane? Also, Yinlin is clearly the best waifu, but I got Encore as my first 5*, before Yinlin's banner was out. Encore is quite strong, and really adorable. I can't speak to the quality of the English VA, though, since I play with Japanese voice. I recommend WuWa for fans of open world action gachas for sure.
If you play wuthering, some tips!!! 1. If you sprint while climbing, you can parkour over the edges of some building roofs and cliff sides. 2. You can fight and collect boss echos without spending plates on getting the drops as well. 3. Databank has a function where you can search the current level of echos you have (if you can get 3 stars but only have 2 atm) you can get the 2's to 3's to level that, which is also stamina. 4. You can search for any echo, not just currently gotten. Do note a few are locked behind story boss questing but that is very rare. 4. There is a section to teach you character combos, try it out! 5. You can grapple once in mid air, without a set point in the sky without issue. 6. And final, you can switch characters when gliding, plunge attacking, and swimming. Oh, and I forgot. Events let you borrow higher level versions of characters if yours aren't maxed so, give all a shot!

HeroHei as a person who played Kuro's First Game PGR (Punishing Gray Raven), and I'm playing Wuthering Waves ofc. All i have to say is that the combat is way better than genshins, and they actually listen to feed and give out a good amount of rewards and compensation rewards. The story is also great, plus it's still only 1.0 wait till 1.1 releases.
One thing Echo Grinding will take a while if ur aiming for perfect rolls. Also if u start playing dont merge the echos u get from killing mobs around the map till data bank lvl 17-19
I don't really care much for Wuthering Waves' combat, but that's partially because the game runs terribly on my rig. Besides that, the movement feels a lot floatier than in Genshin, which is something I very much don't like even if the game did run perfectly.

Wuthering waves community right now are overly wholesome and quite supportive, I'm rarely seeing any shenanigans by the cancel culture but most of the time they are defended and even better laughed on for how nonsensical and petty the drama gets. but so far this community are not afraid to say what they think should do better for the Devs and with a sprinkle of love and praise. and I'm all for it

I play WuWa and am having so much fun! Still can't even get close to the endgame tower mode so it has a lot to offer imo.
If you're gonna try it out: play who you like the most bc it's skill based game and meta doesn't matter as much as in other games, unless you like seeing biiig numbers of damage
Also don't level up many characters in the start and you will need 3 teams in the endgame (3 characters each) and we don't have many supports in the game yet, so you can freely invest the most in 2 dmg dealers, a bit less into 2 sub dps that suits them and a healer (rn it's Verina or Baizhi but Verina gives so many buffs she's crazy good)

I will say I have been playing Wuthering Waves and have been enjoying it, I have it set to English VA since the text don't completely show, so her voice of Encore is enjoyable. I would be annoyed if she was dropped over something as asinine as this. I'm tired of tourists, just many are as well. And my question is this, just like with every other media these tourists have invaded, how many of them are actually playing WuWa, let alone Genshin?
With the way Wuthering waves started the game every player can get up to three 5 star characters (one is random while the other two are the player's choice) not including the MC. It has 2 basic banners a character banner and weapon banner. For the weapon banner you can pick which 5 star weapon you want it to be. There's also 2 limited banners (each uses it's own currency) with the character banner being a 50/50 on the first 5 star pull but the weapon banner is a 100% chance guarantee for the signature weapon when you pull a 5 star on it. Pity is at 80 summons with soft pity being at 60-70 pulls. Instead of relics there's echoes. Each echo could be for a specific element and have any stat (for example heron could be electro or fire). Echoes are recorded in the data bank and you need to upgrade that to get higher rarity echoes (to upgrade them you need to get new echoes and higher rarity echoes you already have. There is of course the milestone rewards for account level, at the last milestone, 45, you get a free 5 star weapon of your choice.
