Great video Mac. One thing I love is that no matter who you are or how you are dressed, you are welcome to all bars, restaurants and shopping malls. Whether they are cheap Charlie places or high class modern shopping malls, you will not be judged or frowned upon. This is certainly not the case in any western cities, especially the capital cities where you wouldn’t get within 10 meters of some restaurants or shops.
Think its more those countries that better to visit not to live...alot thai people complain to me and want to leave...also no retirement pension. Good for westerner with bit of money i guess
I know its obvious but its warm in Thailand all the time. F'ing freezing here in Europe. Just keep adding the layers till you feel like a Michelin man. T-shirt & shorts is a dream come true.
It's lads like yourself & Keis that have inspired me to leave Australia with a Suitcase of some clothes, my Sony Playstation & my Laptop. Paying 10,000thb for a resort Condo in Jomtien per month which is around $430aud, thats less than weekly rent in Australia! All valid points all legit, Thailand all the way! 🇹🇭👌
You can go way cheaper then 10k lol...bit of a waste imo. But how you will sustain yourself and gain visa for long term? I ask cuz i want to do the same
Thanks very much for your straight talk and very direct information in Pataya. I have been watching vids for years in P. I learned more direct info from you than 4 years of other vlogger vids. Great job thanks.
good channel. I started to follow this channel as I wanted to see some hangover freak from Pattaya, but you're really cool, mate. good content, good attitude
I went to a mall in Bangkok called the toku about 20 years ago. I was the biggest building on earth I'd ever walked in! It had about 8 floors and it was about miles wide each way.
Great story ! I would love my 24 year old son to move there. I will retire there in 6 years Now what’s up with the 2 beauties living with you ? Bravo !!
Hey Mac, and everyone else of course. Great video as per bloody usual Mac... good stuff, keep it up yeah. 💪👍 So, long time lurker, but I've come out of hiding now wanting to ask you what's the rock/metal scene like in Thailand in areas around Pattaya, Bangkok and/or elsewhere in Thailand. If I decided to go there, as a life long headbanger, which are the places to go, are there any good rock/metal festivals in Thailand worth visiting? Take care and all the best. 🍺🇸🇪🇷🇴🤘
I’m not sure about festivals but there is definitely a lot of bars that play live live rock music rock station on Soi buakhao and stones house in walking street are the 2 most popular in Pattaya hope this helps

I'm married to a thai woman from loei in the North East I'm looking forward to moving to Thailand 🇹🇭 in a couple of years time as my step children live there I'm so looking forward to going back home in North East Thailand 🇹🇭
Perfect Friday afternoon watch at home with a singha on the Gold Coast. Im already sold on Thailand just got to set the plan. For now, once a year gets me by. 55
@@VibrantLivingLists dude, love it, well done. I haven't been back for two years owing to work situation. I'm back to Phuket between may-july next year. Them I'll be back to once a year.
I went to Japan in the 90s to work and I still live there. I personally believe Thailand is a great place to retire or go for a short holiday, but in terms of work I'm going to say Tokyo wins hands down in terms of opportunities with so many global companies based there. I would say it's a lot harder to forge a career in Thai/Bangkok. Youtubing is not for everyone. My 2 storied, 4 bedroom house is also way cheaper than keysies "bargain". A lot of restaurants I go to are cheaper as well. Thailand isn't as cheap as it used to be. Need to be earning a decent wage there to live well. Some people can do that but opportunities are limited.
@mactvtravel working bars for nearly 10 years and barely seen the world, always wanted to visit Thailand, any advised on what bar work Is like over there, would you recommend that or not?
Although it mite be said that because of the situation in Europe it has changed the dynamics of the place... Been going Jomtien/Pattaya since 1999 but high season now I will avoid that place... After discovering Thailand a Lot of us realize we were born on the wrong continent 😢😂... Was lucky enough though to meet a beautiful Asian woman who I married and keep me warm in Europe 😂🎉.. After this video though it's only going to get more busy.. I don't blame you one little bit... Get there while u can🎉
I'm under 50 so I worry about the visa I can also claim a full pension in 10 years when I'm 52 so really torn but don't want to waste the next ten years here in England wishing my life away for a pension.
Look into the return to your home country requirements. If you end up needing to leave you may end up ending your dogs before you leave. I know Australia has closed a lot of loopholes to get pets back into aus from Asian countries. And these loopholes are upwards of 80k Aussie per dog and take like 2 years in quarantine in various countries before coming back
This is the first video I've seen where someone thinks getting a job in Thailand is a possibility. It's always seemed like you have to be retiring with a full stack because getting a job as an expat was impossible. Is it really that easy to find jobs as a foreigner?
What I need is advice on what jobs to take. I'm out of the West within 5 years, literally would rather live in a box and work as a dishwasher over there than staying in cold-ass Sweden for another 10 years.
@@mactvtravel Thanks for the reply! I'm dropping by in Pattaya in January, any chance we could meet up for a couple of hours so I could get a basic understanding and some tips? Would be awesome.
Yes, yes... I agree on many things BUT: a nice life, 2000 US Dollar minimum / month you need. Existence is for less. Life from 2k per month, including a good health insurance. If you are young and doing all that, you might ruin your pension. Most jobs you cannot do in Thailand. These things must nor be forgotten! So stay home, come on holydays and settle down here when you are 60+ with good savings, NOT before if you are not born really rich. Just my 2 cents.
Nike airmax are the same price in JDs bangkok and JDs Ireland 😂.Everything else rhough is so much better.Would love to move there but what to do for income when youve spent half your life working in construction .

Thailand is an awesome country, and I love it. I think about returning every day, but I'm working and raising kids in Taiwan, which in comparison can be rather boring besides surfing and some nature activities. Everything you said about Thailand is so true. But just for some perspective, it's not always safe. Traffic can be dangerous, and there are definitely homicides. Let's not forget scams and some rip-off taxi drivers. Especially in places like Samui, where I've had my life threatened. So, be safe and careful wherever you are. 🙏🧡😎
