    so inside is only light through window, no supplemental led/uv lightining? Also, how long do you keep them inside before transitioning to outdoors?

      Yea just whatever reflective light comes in through window . Well if I could of I would have had both of them outside in shade as it would have been better. But if you are talking about having under lights and when to put in partial sun I would say when they get some decent spines on them maybe 6 months. It really depends on many factors. You can grow them from seed all the way to full grown plants all outside. As long as your in summer just adjust the position of how much sun they get

      @@CurtsCactus what temp would you say is too hot for seedlings outdoors (in your experience)?

      @@Cactusjonny well we get up to 40celcius and past that sometimes, they seem fine. It depends if they have a heat mat that's getting to 40 Celsius. And if they are in direct sun on these hot days. Any day when it is hot regardless of the actual temp but if you think it's too hot and sunny just move them to shade and they will be right and make sure they are hydrated on those days

      @@CurtsCactus I believe it is the UV. I grow my.cacti under LED with complementary UV, IR and deep red. They grow fast and healthy.

    What type of light are they under?

    • @CurtsCactus
      @CurtsCactus  5 місяців тому +3

      On the left outside in complete shade don't actually get any sun. The right was inside by the window which also didn't actually get direct light.

    Yes!..
    Cactus will grow 5 times faster indoors than outdoors.
    (FYI)

      Well the indoors have grown a lot slower than the outdoor seedlings. Almost every time my outdoor seedlings will grow faster and more mature.

      @CurtsCactus Oh.
      My apologies.
      I guess it's a different experience for everybody.
      I have a cactus greenhouse and all of the cactus that I have inside grow much faster and greener than the ones outside.
      They actually just started flowering this month...

      @@jd-ld7in oh that's excellent. I should of clarified that the ones and the right were grown indoors. No artificial light just what light they get from the window. Also no temperature control. So no greenhouse for me. I would agree if they were in a greenhouse they probably would grow faster.
