i wish the 2011 hxh version showed the fillers from the 1999 version. The 1999 fillers may have been fillers, but they were really awesome ones. Like where they were on that boat and the storm came up in the hunter exam arc. Along with the yorknew fillers / heavens arena / when gon and killua were at whale island visiting Aunt Mito, and where they were with that little bear cub, we saw apart of killua :)
The feels. I'm going to watch the old one just because of all the extra scenes that weren't in the 2011 version. The animation is much more fluid as well.

Allow me to fangirl over them for a bit: 1) it told a good story. 2) it had sweet and rare leopika and Killugon moments 3) it showed us a side of the characters we weren’t always acquainted with, particularly when Kurapika was VERY visibly upset when he was sure Leorio was hurt and he couldn’t do anything about it. 4) it made us hate tonpa a little less.
I've watched a bunch of hxh AMVs trying to find one that matches up, but this is by far STILL the best one I've found and the only one that captures the essence of the story and the atmosphere of the plotlines rather than just the action sequences...
This has made me want to watch the 1999 series now. I've seen the new one and loved it, but this definitely makes me think I missed out on something :)))
I know this is old, but I just wanna say that you definitely did if you haven't yet tried to watch the 1999 ver I highly recommend you do as much as I love the 2011 ver, there is a total different theme and feel to the both ver Its kind of amazing how the directors and the team behind the show can do that, even though both of them are adapting the same events and dialogues and all in all the same source material ( with some VERY good fillers in the 1999, I'd at least recommend watching those if you don't feel like watching the whole show ) as you've seen the 2011 has your more typical upbeat shounen show but the 1999 , as you can see in the amv, has a more somber dark feel to it I'm sad I am not good in English enough to be able to explain everything I want to express about the show's feel alone T^T But anyways both 1999 and 2011 are GREAT and they are both their own experience which you just MUST try for yourself

Its nothing crazy technically. Theres a decent amount of raw footage in there. There are a couple really cool sequences especially the opening and effects that I feel like I hadn't seen done before.
