This is one of the most shocking episodes for me. The fact that Alan stole his son's money and then sits there and wonders why he hates him still baffles me to this day.
I will never get over the irony of Alan literally writing the book on a father using/abusing their son for business purposes, yet turning around and doing the same and arguably much worse to his own son. Didn't even give him an ultimatum, basically enslaved him without asking by taking away his assets. I assume it was a $250,000 split from $500k given the first money put in, so it was probably all of it. Fucking hell
@@Sniperboy5551he was not on coke or meth. And no matter how immature or what his hat looks like you don’t steal his money. It was in a trust that the kid couldn’t access until he was an adult and when he went to access it he realized his dad stole from him.
So, first you go and steal 1/4 million dollars from your son’s inheritance WITHOUT even asking him…and yet you claim that you don’t freaking know why he resents you?! 🤬🤬🤯 Also, this episode only goes to show how abuse can often be a vicious cycle. Alan’s dad was abusive to him, so now he abuses his son. When will people ever stop hurting each other, and learn! 😥
When he puts his stupid, empty Ego waaaaay far away and gets out of his selfishness, He tries to compensate for what he lost and was deprived of by taking it from his son instead of striving for himself.
Update the place did close down in 2012 and Alan the owner passed away on April 19th of 2020 from a heart attack. Daniel and Wendy are still together and now married and have kids. Not sure If Daniel still talks to his mom Jen.
@@Corvette1658 normally I would want family to try again and again to be back together, but I would stop talking to Jen the second Alan died, if he was even close to Alan still. That was such an awesome off-the-cuff delivery. She definitely needs something. “Instead of putting sugar in your coffee, you need to put Prozac in it” 😂
Isn’t that every episode of Kitchen Nightmares in the US? You should check out the British version, I actually prefer it to this one. Gordon has more restraint, there’s a lot less yelling and drama and he does group-building activities with them.
The way the sun was treated is frankly a criminal matter. But what? I don't understand is why as a owner are you're actively working against your chef The woman really didn't like the fact his burger was good which makes absolutely no sense. Why wouldn't you love the fact your chef just made a great burger that could potentially make you money?
Not technically a crime if he was the guy who was meant to manage the trust, but definitely liable for civil action. The restaurant ultimately closed in 2012, his father died in 2020 and his son recouped his money. I will say that his son doesn’t seem very grown, so maybe this was ultimately the better option. Kid was definitely on some kind of stimulant throughout, his fedora doesn’t help.

I love how the mom starts fake coughing when she tastes dudes burger that Gordon endorsed.
The son sued his father for all the money back pluse extra and won after the places closed. thought yall would like o know that
His father STOLE his money!!
I am so glad you posted that because it was infuriating me what the POS did to his son
Did he even have money to pay back?

I still can't believe how the owner treated his son. Yeah, they're from a crime family. Notwithstanding, dude just abused his son's assets.
the first rule to thievery, you don't steal from family

This is not a crime family 🙄
Working on the spirit of being paid? Yeah I'd be out of there. That's free labour.

ikr that one was hideous. That's a disgusting excuse of a meat pie
its atrocious to think that he'd call that an australian meat pie when its clearly a fucking disgrace to australia

29 and balding that poor guy is stressed 😢
There is a difference between being an amateur and loving home cooking and being a chef and knowing how to apply recipes in reality.
So he left Australia bc he didn't want to be controlled, but also took his son's money and forced him into working? That is so hypocritical.
