    Thank you. Simple straightforward video. Very helpful. I just bought a simrad cruise 5. Setting up the transducer and the echo screen says “paused”. No idea why as all brand new out of the box. Any hints much appreciated.

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video. That sometimes that "paused" screen can happen out of the box so don't think you have a defective unit. Just do a reset to factory settings and you should be good to go. Thanks.

    Will it work with any thru-hull transducers?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  5 місяців тому

      It will not work with any transducer. You can call the tech support number at 800-628-4487 to see if your transducer will work or could be adapted to work.

    • @brianweekley5700
      @brianweekley5700 5 місяців тому

      Wrong. First, it comes with a transom mount transducer. Simrad tech support recommended the thru-hull transducer that I bought (XSonic B150), but it does need an adapter plug to fit the Cruise.

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  5 місяців тому

      You are correct. I was not clear in my answer. I was trying to say that not all transducers (from Simrad and from other manufacturers) can be adapted to work with the Cruise. I'm Glad Simrad Tech support was able to get you the information you needed.

    Wondering if the maps include Alaska? Anyway to update the maps? Thanks for the help!!

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому

      If you get the 94sv it should have charts that cover coastal Alaska preloaded (covers all of US coastal waters according to their site). You can update and add cartography by going to the Garmin site and purchasing updates if desired.

      I believe the extension cable is part number 000-14414-001. You can find it here:

    Are the built in maps sufficient for coastal areas or would you recommend adding the Navionics+? Thanks

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому +2

      Most people find the pre-loaded charts work well for them and don't need to add other cartography. You could add the G-Chart Vision cards to give the chart plotter in unit dock- to-dock auto routing. My suggestion is to try out the charts that are preloaded and then decide if you want the added features of the Vision card. If you do decide to add cartography make sure they will work in your machine. There are a lot of varieties out there and only a few will work. Enjoy!

    Transducer mounting on inside of hull ?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  Рік тому

      The supplied transducer can be epoxied inside the hull if it is not foam core, over an inch thick, is not metal, and if there are no air pockets. It is a good idea to test the location with a ziplock bag filled with water and press the transducer into the bag while on the water to check for an accurate reading. If it works, then attach the transducer using epoxy and not a silicone or other "soft" sealant.

    What depth will the transducer register

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  2 роки тому

      From my experience with a properly mounted transducer you should get decent resolution down to about 200 feet in saltwater with readings going down to a max of about 400-600 feet.

    Does this unit come with the sd card for gulf coast of texas?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  2 роки тому

      These units come with all of the US Coastal mapping built in. It does have an SD card reader that can be used for optional mapping, but it has limitations. Large mapping cards can cause the processor to run slow, and it will not run a lot of the 3rd party enhanced mapping cards.
