ARE YOU KIDDING?! HOW CAN CAMPING IN TASMANIA BE THIS GOOD?! BEACH, LAKE AND COUNTRY IN ONE WEEK!

  • What a ripping couple of weeks! Our plans changed three times within this video I think. . .We just moved on the fly, switched things up as we went and basically just responded to the weather. Which we've found is pretty much what camping in Tassie needs to be. . .when it's good, it's unmatched. When it's bad. . .it's pretty much the worst thing ever. Hahahah!
Starting in Ansons Bay, the white sand and the water. . .honestly, it's like a little mini Whitehaven Beach. So beautiful and such an experience.
From there we hit the Little Blue Lake and then stay for a couple of days at a little known freecamp that's right off the radar at Pioneer Lake. No shops in town, a total in between destination that you'd never normally hit, that proved to be absolutely awesome and just what we needed.
A brief interlude in Launceston again which was always welcome and then onto Coleman Park - a Lakestay that delivered hugely in the visuals, but massively didn't in the weather stakes. Man!
Richmond after that and we did love that town. Started our love affair with Spiced Apple Mead and bumped into long time Instagram friends from the Sunny Coast, the Vaggabonds.
I hope you like this one. . . when we watched it, it definitely felt like it's a family holiday episode, more family moments and all that. Don't know if our valued subs and people that follow enjoy that stuff. . .but I hope you do. . .This is the journey, this is the life. . .unfiltered. I guess that means sometimes you get travel vibes and wanky UA-cam stuff. . .sometimes you feel like part of our family and get to live it as we did. . .We have no idea what we're really doing with this content, but regardless, if you're going to do us the honour of spending your time with us, we hope you enjoy. 🙏
    Thanks for watching. ❤️

Thanks Phil. 🙏 Really appreciate it mate. Glad you're enjoying it so far. Not sure how much more from Tassie there is as I kind of just edit as I go and suss it out once I start chucking the footage into the timeline. Maybe a couple more episodes before we get back to Victoria...But there's been some cool stuff since then.
Glad you think they're getting better - hard to know from this side of the fence. . .If anything I was feeling this one was a bit more random and might not be well received. So it's cool to know you liked it. 🙂

Once again, I am late to the party. My phone pinged a few days ago letting me know that you guys dropped another ep and I have just managed to watch this 4 days later. Seriously, my job just gets in the way of everything!!!
Another gorgeous episode. Your music selections are silkily sublime and gently drape in the background of your videos seamlessly sewing the two fabrics of visuals and audio together. Love it.
Again, your story telling is just so lovely, a beautiful vignette of a burning fire, with a log sparking as it falls down in the dwindling light and with Kate in the background with a fishing rod. Or walking as family across a white sandy beach with the moving tides shifting the sands and collecting water to create another visfest.
Kate, your poor little herb garden, but also, there is nothing like a good pruning to encourage some serious growth. I hope the poor marauding herb stealer did not experience an upset stomach, though and that your herbery staged a Lazarus and a good home prior to leaving Tasmania.
Again, Katie and Christian, you are not afraid to keep those little human activities, that we all do without thinking about them, from falling on the cutting room floor when editing. (A little wedgie pick, or blowing of the nose after swimming - where was the surround sound for that little horn blow?) This just keeps things even more real, relatable, and charming.
Videography...just amazing. This may be what you do for a living and your work is breathtaking, but also having you all in the front of that camera just makes it even more enjoyable to watch.
Stay safe, continue to have amazing food, travel and family experiences. Thank you again.

Awesome videos love your quality filming. Just a quick question what was the name or place you stayed last on the video - the farm stay area? Near Richmond. Thx

Thanks Shaana! Appreciate that a lot! 🙏 I think it's in the video, unless it was taken out by mistake, but it's called Churchill. 👍 And it was on a working horse property.

As there has been some really horrible people at our Pioneer Lake it looks as if only day visits may be allowed here.

That's sad - but also becoming increasingly common. People don't have a great deal of respect for their surroundings these days and it just sucks. There are 3 times as many people on the road travelling now than there were when we went. It's harder to find spots and that also means 3 x as many drongos. 🤦‍♂️

Hahaha YES! That's awesome! I was about to cancel it as I didn't think anything was working, so thanks bro! :) Much appreciated.
Appreciate you taking the time to comment and let us know.
I've been shooting and editing for a long time, close to 20 years. We run a production company back home, so it is something we're used to doing, just not used to being in it ourselves. 😂

New Zealand is a bigger, warmer version. Salt Earth and Sun Simulator would be more correct😮 More scenery and less children would be better😊
