Hello from Tampa FL! New subscriber here. UA-cam recommended your videos when I did a search for Boston, Salem and Maine. Love your channel! Really enjoy your travel and concert vlogs. I'm about 1/3 way through your current videos, and I look forward to your new uploads! Take care, have fun and stay safe out there!
Hi K R! We're so glad you found our channel. :) Did you plan a trip up to New England yet or were you just researching the area? Either way...glad to have you following along with us. Cheers!
Very well done. I'm thinking about a road trip to Maine right now (April) good to know the pros and cons. Looks like more than enough still open to make the trip special. Less people always a priceless bonus :)
Thank you! Hope you make it there this month! April was definitely a great time to visit and I'm sure there will be lots more open and available now, post Covid.
I lived in Canaan for a short time. Loved Maine. Going back soon to see what I didnt have the chance to before. Loved this video brought back memories and showed more to see now!! Awesome!!
I have a big spreadsheet of things to do in Maine, and one column is the hours listed on the website and the next column is "is it actually open?" Got a few options just in case also
It’s a year later, but I watched you because I’m a local Maine girl. I’m not a girl because I was gone after 20 years, for 40 years, and then I came back, but of course I had relatives and friends and childhood, that I kept in touch with. So I think I know all about Maine, and I think you did a really nice job of presenting the honest truth about not knowing how to eat a clam, and not liking it, and about the good. I’m going to subscribe to you and see what else you have to say.
Awwww I L💜VED your video, I'm here in Old Orchard beach and it's so awesome to show other people who may not have been to Maine how many amazing places and people are here to visit! You hit soooo many great spots🏖😎🐚
We loved this video! Now we're off to watch your your Portland video - we lived there for 14 years (2003 -2017) and it's a great little city. Although we've never been to Red's Eats, scallops are ALWAYS a good choice in Maine.
I love the off season vibe ...... it’s like being a local ! How have I never been to Reds ??!! On my list . Your dentist loves the idea of you eating stale taffy 😂
You guys are adorable 🥰. I first saw you on my Instagram. You just popped up there and I literally spend less than 0% of my time there. Just love your covers of Be My Baby and I’m on Fire 🔥 if you guys ever come to the Jersey Shore, look me up 🆙
Ah, so fun! We actually got to go inside about 2 years ago on a different trip and snagged some delicious pie! Next time we are up there, we'd love to keep driving further north. Wild Blueberry Land is the furthest we've made it!
Looks like a great trip. We are a recently retired couple from Texas. We are planning a trip to Maine, and your videos are giving us some great ideas. I can't wait to try a lobster roll...we have never had one. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Hi guys! Glad you found our channel...when is your trip to Maine? We're excited for you to try your first Lobster Roll...you'll definitely be hooked after that! Happy Retirement :)
We made a huge mistake driving on I-95 lol the traffic made us lose a whole day of plans in Maine. Oh well. Still had a good time. We visited Bar Harbor and had the Lobster experience meal by the shore, Bangor and Stephen Kings house, Marshall point lighthouse, Portland lighthouse and lobster rolls at the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport. Maine is beautiful
Wow, you guys hit up some of the best spots. What month did you go? I know summer is so much crazier with tourists. We lucked out to sneak this trip in back in April (although the weather wasn't great, so there's positives and negatives to everything). Maine sure is beautiful...glad you guys had a great time!
@@TheEvergreens thanks! It was amazing. I fell in love with Maine. We went the first weekend of August 2021. Which we just missed Chef Ramsey because he was at Marshal point lighthouse cooking up a lobster roll for his TV series during that time 🙂
Maine is on my bucket list!! But would rather go when it's less crowded and I love little hole in the wall type shops. Would you suggest going right at the beginning of the season when more things are open or towards the end?
Hey! Thanks so much for watching the vlog. :) We haven’t been at the very beginning or end of the season, but late May would probably be a nice time to beat crowds but still have options! A lot of places we tried to go were opening mid-late May. Hope you can plan a trip there soon! 😍
What an awesome video! I just uploaded a maine trip video. It is absolutely stunning there especially now when the leaves are changing colors. I can’t wait to go back! I hope you guys get to go back once everything is open!
Hey Janet! Thanks for checking out our Maine trip. We'll have to head over to your channel and watch your vlog too. I've always wanted to see Maine in the fall...I bet the leaves were stunning.
I was bummed. I wanted to re-create the Forest Gump run at Marshall point lighthouse but there must of been 20 people on that thing posing for pictures for an hour straight. We left bummed lol
Oh damn! That is always frustrating when you have an idea in your mind and then you try to execute it and other people get in the way of the shot :P I guess we really lucked out on the day and time we went because we didn't see anyone else the entire time we were there. I guess that's travel for ya! Always impossible to predict.
Just so you know, you're supposed to pull the outer layer off the neck of a steamed clam, not the whole neck! You completely wasted half the clam, and missed out on a HUGE part of the experience. Skip to 35 seconds on this video: ua-cam.com/video/fiqt7VMzmf8/v-deo.html
I'm so sorry about your steamer experience, but you were done dirty. You gotta peel and eat the neck, too!! 😋 If you need better recs along the midcoat (gushing over Red's hurt the me...), I can give you a list.
My wife and I got a big kick out of your video great job! so were thinking on going this summer and even trying some of your stops and wondering what month you think would be best to go.
Thank you so much, Gary! I've been to Maine different times throughout the year and honestly can say there isn't a bad time to go. I would suggest maybe later in August if you have a choice, as many kids would be back in school by that time and the weather would still be great. Hope you guys make it and have a wonderful time! Cheers!
Sorry to burst your bubble but we ARE in fact married and I have a legal document to prove it. Keep your small minded comments to yourself and have a great day 🙂
Yes, for those who live here, we stay clear of Rte one in the Summer. The rest of the year it isn't too bad.
Understandable!

Love it! Much more prepared than we were. 😝
I live in Rockland and it has it's ups and downs but it's beautiful during summer
I’m sure it is!!

Hello from Md. when do you think is the best month to visit in the summer time.
Thanks so much for watching and for the sub, Deborah! ❤️

I love Old Orchard beach.I grew up there as a kid.

I live a couple miles away from Wild Blueberry Land, It's a bummer you missed out on it, but I hope you enjoyed your time here anyway!

@@TheEvergreens there are some amazing views as you travel past Wild Blueberry Land. I hope you get to enjoy your trip!
Darn making me hungry
Can't wait till Friday Fish Buffet at The Dugout
You both are amazing!
Aw...thanks so much, Sarah!

@@TheEvergreens very true. We will just have to come back and try again. I bought a Bubba gump shrimp hat for it next time 😄
omg we ran into the same issue with places not updating google!! its sooo annoying lol
Lesson learned! 😅

Clam strips are not what you want. They are the cheap alternative. If you want fried clams, do the whole belly clams.
Totally understand...but they were tasty nonetheless!

Thanks Gary!
Thank you for visiting and loving my state! And thank you for introducing me to Ryvoli I absolutely love them! Come back and visit soon!
Get salt water taffy in Atlantic City.
This is the best!
Omg because of you guys have to eating Maine fried clams
Mmmm...hope you enjoy :)
MY MOM TRESPASSED THERE TO TAKENA PHOTO 3 YEARS AGO HAHAHA
We totally trespassed too 😅😂 the gates were all locked but we had to sneak in for a photo. We love this place!
😂I don’t trust Google EVER!
Truer words have never been spoken!
You should have asked for a better lesson on separating the neck. looks like you missed a lot. Steamers are absolutely yummy!
We have some friends that really enjoy them, I just think they weren't for us! But we still had fun trying them out :)
What's with the masks?
This was during Covid
Married? I think not. Marriage is a relationship between a woman and a man. You two have a relationship but not a marriage.
Sorry to burst your bubble but we ARE in fact married and I have a legal document to prove it. Keep your small minded comments to yourself and have a great day 🙂
Regardless your personal beliefs why would you attack someone like that who’s just trying to give Maine travel advice? your life must suck
Who cares what you think! If they’re married, they’re married! Keep your opinion to yourself, no one is interested!
@richp6555 you are ignorant. I can't imagine being so close minded.
I agree with all comments - if neg keep option to self BUT - according to Bible, marriage is between a man & a woman
