Thanks Iffy. I think this is the 3rd time I've had to re-subscribe to your channel. UA-cam is doing its best to kill us small guys off. Great info as always.
First Nokta came up with a beast mode that will only be used by a few and that everyone would have liked different with a M4 low freq high sens. Second they came up with a underperforming beta. Third we have the "everything is fine" again no matter what, starting to make obscure and incoherent video in real life to proove they know better. If you or other serious yt testers are not able to make them question their stuffs, nobody will can, no matter how much people comment on yt videos to tell the same. They trust no one, they consider no one. Everyone is trying to bash them freely. This is very disapointing, I'm still happy enought with 1.09 over the next, but that's it, I will not trust Nokta again to put a few hundred bucks in a detector. If I ever buy another one, the Versa is a on top of the list, they have prooved to be able to improve their machines over time. Shame on you Nokta
When I think about it, it still amazes me how people in our hobby allowed themselves to be divided by Nokta that as first started bashing other manufacturers so aggressively. They created the image of a company that is "the only one that listens to customers", "loves people", "does everything for its customers", " the only one that gives free updates", "gives the best product". Really, there are people so manipulated that they believe in such gibberish. Nokta do it all for their own profit, not for the people. Wake up folks, don't let yourself be fooled.
@@anotherbrick577 That is a relevant intake unfortunately, I like nokta because they make affordables quality machines, I had the Fors core I was happy with, since two years I have the Legend, I was hopping they push it to the next level but imho this is the opposite and they just don't listen. The TIDs of 1&2 will show on the deeper targets I have in my red dirt mineral test bed. Same as I showed on my first video. I still need to experiment more with BE mode but for me it would be only for low trash ground. Regular Field & Park with DT activated is a real step forward and much more usable both in low & higher mineral soils. Hopefully Nokta will continue to improve BE mode as it is a good concept as was Gen D mode & EUD on the Anfibio, it just needs to be more real world usable. DT activation, on the other hand, is a a clear advancement to be praised.
👍. Saw the NM vid. I've always manually GB'd (ground permitting), I manually GB periodically as I go, too. VDI means zilch, for me, when trying to locate deeper. They need to fix that update , at least they did say it’s a beta version so I’m hoping before they release that actual update they fix these problems because according to nokta beast mode can perform in all soils , I’m not even bothering with beast mode yet , the DT feature helps a little but I don’t see a big difference
I’m probably going to wait to update mine. I’m not that proficient at testing these new machines, way too many adjustments for me. I see the benefits but the legend is just hard for me navigate, from day one. I’m sure if I can get out more and just practice I’m sure I’ll get it figured out? Maybe ask Nokta where their ground balanced numbers were, that would tell if it was lower/higher than your soil?, thanks
Soils are so much different around the world and metal detectors will react different everywhere. That's why you don't ask what settings they are using if in Europe. Ask yourself, did they GB and what other settings they used. I myself say, "if it's not broken, don't fix it". I like the way I have set my settings on my Legend and it has proven to me it can go deep. I have different profiles for different situation hunts. Plus you have to think maybe, "ghosting" signal due to mineralization or even a "Halo" effect from metal that has saturated the ground after all those years. Deep signals I stick my shovel and open the ground up and break halo then recheck signal. Good hard signal, get to diggin!!
Hey mate, to be honest, in our soil it never happens that the good targets drop to 1 or 2. Maybe it's the soil, I don't know. The set filter reminds me of that Nomad video. I downgraded mine back to 1.13. The problem I see is, even when experienced users can't figure it out, how should a beginner understand it? Maybe they should redo the test with all programs in all metals and target depths so we get more information on how to reproduce that test to get a better understanding.
Thanks for the feedback. Im sure they are sorting through the emails, and if something if wrong will fix it. I cannot replicate there demo here but if it is unique soil conditions someone will.

@@IffySignals Thanks for your reply, I’ll stick with 1:13 for now then, as like you I didn’t like the way it impacted on the other modes. I understand Beast mode is there as an unmasking tool and not about depth but I think they have a way to go before they’ve perfected it. 👍
I just want your opinion. I have been hunting with the Deus 2 for over two years with great success. I am wanting to buy a Nokta Legend or a Minelab Manticore. Which would you go for? Been detecting for 52 years and have owned just about everything out there. Thanks Terry in Tennessee.
Right! You ever get a 1,2 ID locked on like they showed that was a deep coin, only 1 vdi off from a mid conductor to a high conductor, with a great audio response? The legend has never plummeted an ID like that. At depth the Legend up averages the ID. Never seen anything like it. It would be bouncy, high/low ect not lock on to a 1,2.
Nokta did not recognize the error with 1.11, I went for half a year without any finds, installed 1.09 and there were a lot of them, it’s a pity the beast marketing mode, increasing the depth is impossible without additional interference
I haven’t run into any issues with certain versions like others have had or performance issues after updating but as for BE mode, its a pretty frustrating mode to use being all metal. Going to try the Beta 2 on a field today.
Thanks Mase! I would go Manticore if you can swing it. No pun intended. Legend is good but the manticore gives you many more adjustments with ferrous limits which is really helpful when making custom programs.
Park 1 sounds much better. I usually get around 25 on nickels not 50. That up averaging that’s going on in beast isn’t gonna cut it for me. Interesting observation.
I ONLY get low single IDs on deep iron targets most of the time. Not every time the odd mixed metal nail or fastner may fool me. Everything else non ferrous comes in with an up averaged VDI. Which as I said in a previous comment I still found useful for checking for deep iron in field mode which would often give me sketchier higher numbers for iron. Running Beast mode full time however is not productive IMO.
Same Bill, never a consistent two way (with good audio response) hit 1,2 on a deep coin. Maybe that is part of the program, but i cannot replicate it here. I would not want to use that anyway with nails giving a 5ID, how are nails going to give a ferrous tone of 5 and a coin a non ferrous at 1,2?
