    good review of the zippo always good to have more than one way to start a fire, compact and not that expensive to buy

    I really like this. To bad they didn't make it where the cap after being unscrewed is still attached to the main body. That way the cap won't get lost.
    I'm sure a piece of paracord maybe 4 inches could be tied to the cap and then superglue or epoxy a ranger band around the main body and tie the other end of the paracord to the ranger band or glue it.
    Anyway I think it's a good product to own and the fact that it doesn't require any lighter fluid is a plus.

    Regardless of if you use this product or not it's always a good idea to have multiple ways to start a fire for a variety of needs. I purchased several of the $1 plastic soap boxes at Walmart and put my fire kits in those. You can put a lot of stuff in those boxes, survival matches, lighter, small ferro rod an striker and a variety of fire starter items such as a stick of fat wood or cotton balls saturated in Vaseline.

    This will be a cool addition to add to my car get home bag. I may doust the cubes inside with a little zippo fluid to keep them moist.( although maybe not needed) cause the chemicals may dry out inside like a lighter, in the car over time. Just a thought. Thanks for the review, enjoyed as always.

    It looked to good to be true. You should have tried to light off 2-3 of those pads. 1 strike & boom its lit, never in my life :-)

    I've tried to help you out a time or two but have noticed the past week they pop up with an Amazon Smile charity I chose many years ago, and I do mean many, to try and get me to change it to that. Amazon never did that before or any other time I go to buy something. Letting you know what they're doing in case you see it change.

    Great video. I can’t for the life of me get the sparks from this starter to light the tinder. What’s the secret? What might be going wrong for me?

  • @lyndabuchholz1216
    @lyndabuchholz1216 4 роки тому +1

    I would love to find a lighter that had a different way to make a spark. I have arthritis in my thumb and can't turn those flint wheels. I would sure love links to something that worked different.

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  4 роки тому

      I will check around and see if I can find anything, also too you can roll that wheel and get a spark just roll it to the tinder on the ground.

    • @lyndabuchholz1216
      @lyndabuchholz1216 4 роки тому +1

      @@Iridium242 I had not thought about rolling it I will try that. I tried to start my burn barrel and that is when I found couldn't turn that wheel. Maybe I could roll it down the side of the barrel! Thank you!!

  • @uberjimindc613
    @uberjimindc613 4 роки тому

    Hack it! Don’t use zippo flints. Replace flints with Bic flints out of an old Bic lighter. Bic flints last damn near forever compared to zippo flints. You may have to use Bic mini flints. I can’t remember which one actually fits.

    @4:52 LOL when the dog started barking, it sounded so realistic that I paused the video and checked my security system!
    I'm not a fan of the wheel striker kits like this, but this one looks pretty good. My only concern is the number of fires you can get out of this kit. Do you think the tinder spools (or whatever they're called) could be cut into pieces to allow for multiple fires? Thanks! I'm loving your fire and stove vids.

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  4 роки тому +3

      oh yeah you could easily cut them in half or even just use a few rolls off the larger roll. They catch easy and burn well so you dont need to use a whole one every time. I may even make my own to stick in there instead of these rolls
