I never thought Deftones would top White Pony, but every time I listen to Koi No Yokan it just gets better and better, this is definitely their best album in a while, if not ever. And I wouldn't hesitate to say it's the best album of 2012
White Pony was an instant hit for me but you are definitely right in saying Koi No Yokan gets better with each listen. Thing grew on me insanely at the 3rd listen.

Abe almost never follows a symmetrical pattern. He changes something every verse/bridge/etc. For a drummer, he pushes the boundary, there's only one other that I can think that does; Danny Carey. They have immensely different styles, though.

You just have White Pony? You were sounding like a loyal fan until I got to that part. I've been a Deftones fan since I was in HS and I have all albums in my iPOD. I listen to these guys every time I go running and it's always a pleasant experience to listen.

He did say in an interview a while ago that after the download thing exploded Deftones lost roughly half the revenue they'd had previously. But then they've always focused on touring, so it shouldn't hit them too hard.

I know what you mean. I'm 40 in a few months time. I do like to download music (legally of course) but I tend to do it more so now to save space as I have a pretty small house.
Hopefully when the wife and I can afford a bigger house I'll get back to my CD's and my vinyl too. I have loads of old vinyl stored away just waiting for space and my ultimate dream sound system. Who says you should stop loving great music when you're getting towards your 40's? Turn it up and enjoy! Love this tune :)
