    What I like about Lando is that he's just about every other teen/early 20s out there with the exception of being an F1 driver. Likes video games, streaming, memes, and the internet in general. Guy acts like the average shitposter on reddit.

      You can build a rig that's functionally identical to this for around £6,000. Average house price in UK is £240,000
      To be honest a G29 or t300 stuck on a desk with RF2 , AC , iracing , R3E lets you enjoy sim-racing and still learn tracks and that can be done for under £300.
      That's what's awsome with sim-racing unlike real racing it's really not about having money and expensive kit.
      The expensive kit is just nice for immersion and some specific training.

      To be fair, Codemasters is doing a good job in the latest games really, it's not a simulator but it has all the elements of realism just made easier by having more grip, unlike every other game dev who decides that not being a simulator means they must make the handling as easy as possible so you can win everything on the first go without much concentration... Plus they got the game pad assists just right; at least in the 2017 game, they have no controllability disadvantage vs wheel users so they can go just as fast without going so far that it would disadvantage wheel users and that's important for bringing more people into the racing genre, especially for the simulators.

    • @robkruger

      Codemaster has the license because F1 wants to earn money. A simcade is more accessible for casual players than a sim, so it gets more sales.

    For everyone thinking that the Autosport guy did good...It's a 44 second lap.Based on an average f1 track for example 1:28 that would mean this guy would be 2.8 seconds off lando per lap.Put that in context of an entire race he would be 3minutes behind lando.
    I raced with Lando before online and I'm usually 0.5 behind and I find that to be an eternity

    He did well on the sim. It's the real settings with almost no assists there. All those people who post videos "without" assists and with some astonishing records just lie through their teeth. They do use some assists you can feel it by the way the car behaves. Lando is spot on by saying "you will spin out". Of course, he will spin out. He is not used to not having no assists. The only thing which is not needed with real pedals is ABS. You can break more efficiently by braking without letting the wheels lock (not pushing the brake totally to the floor) rather than using the pulsing of the ABS system. All other assists mostly make you a much better driver. They usually SIGNIFICANTLY improve lap times. But the most important thing they do is help you out by correcting your mistakes, or even preventing you from spinning out. People literally push the throttle too hard in the corners and still don't lose the car. That was not an option here :))) So he kept losing the car.

    • @thebenevolentsun6575
      @thebenevolentsun6575 2 роки тому

      All assists other than abs and friction control make you slower. Traction control can cut power to wheels unnecessarily and stability control makes the car jittery in the corners.
