I'm actually a much bigger fan of a 737 + powerstow combo. I find I can stack at least 5 additional bags without a magic carpet, especially in the front due to all the space it takes up.
I remember doing this work whilst at Uni in my holidays. Your strength and energy reminds me of me aged 18! Such hard work and under so much pressure. The 737, 1-11 and MD-80s didn’t have a conveyor belt back then, I was surprised to see it! Un or Loading an A320 or 757 was so easy with the containers. They were fun days, but it’s desk job for me these days - haven’t got the stamina anyway! Thanks for posting these videos, really interesting and brings back memories. 👍😉 You seem to be doing a lot of the work alone? When I did this work we’d have several guys working the holds (in the 90’s).
Ryan, when is it actually okay to not chuck the ground equipment? I notice the baggage loader wasn't chucked when you folks were unloading the flight that just landed, and loading the flight all set for takeoff on the same aircraft.
So TIL that some planes have conveyor belts in them and that if your luggage is the right shape and texture, it might get used as a landing pad for other people's luggage. 😅
After working at Bristol airport for over 2 years and doing many 737 rear holds the more I watch that magic floor the more annoyed I'm becoming 😂 that's so unfair 😂
Its airlines choice wether they want that system installed on the aircraft. Most choose not too as its added weight to the plane. But it makes it so easy and quick to turnaround
I'm guessing airport's are doing away with manual Marshalling and switching to a high-tech electronic system to direct aircrafts into their gate , Marshalling with light wands is more interactive than having a bunch of lights and arrows on a light tower do the work....eventually airports will replace all ramp agents with robotics and the aircrafts will go high-tech below deck where all of the luggage is loaded with robotic arms.
Me parece de vergüenza como tratan las maletas de las personas que viajamos en avión y todo por tener de ir rápido se puede hacer las cosa bien y sin maltratar las pertenencias de los viajeros
It’s not really embarrassing. You work in the hold of a plane. It’s back breaking work. I can’t see any evidence of mishandling here. If you want cheap fares, things have to be done quickly. Buy a stronger luggage case.
i wish all the 737s still had the magic carpet
I hate magic carpets and power stows. Alright for offloads but a pain in the arse for loading.

@@oogdiver having a power stow is beneficial for a long plane. Instead of having a regular belt loader and having someone else push the bags to you.

It’s really cool to see what it’s like working on the tarmac & what it’s like to load the belly of the airplane ✈️😊.
12:27 the rainbow luggage straps! They've only sold 2 billion lol....really unique ID feature! Is it just me that finds them hilarious?!
Great videos! And thank you for handling people luggage so respectfully and not tossing it!
Really good content on this channel, do you think you can film more POV's on the ramp?
great video
great vid new to channel and from what i have seen you seem to be doing most of the work.
Great stuff
Thank you
Great video. Good job
Nice catch!
Really hard work
Nice job I’m thinking of doing that when I grow up I’m not really sure yet. What did you do for GCSE
I don’t think you need any qualifications

pretty neat the luggage is on a big conveyor belt in the belly of the plane and he must kick but at tetris lol
13:57 why the hell they put the small bag sticker (bingo note on our ends) to the bottom of the bag? oh god, why? :D

A lot of cases for one person to move ! are you still there
I know people looking at this like this is a hard job is really not you just have to be in shape that's about it it's so simple what he's doing
This guy is right, I'm in shape and I can stack like a bagmason.
The shape is *R O U N D*
Therr baby prams baby prams
Knees 😭😭😭
I have knee pads. Their fine
I was wondering is it all 737 bulk compartment have electric belt?! i know 320 dose not have it .... or is it from the airline design ?

@@ramperryanthey also have to pay the ground handling companies more cash
less*
@@koala1702 actually makes no difference. They pay what ever they get quoted and they get to choice who they give the ground contract too
Delta is doesn’t have one
Do you not wear gloves when handling the cases
yeah a good pair of gloves will definitely save the wear on your hands in the long run
Yeah, you do not need a gym membership. Wow!
Im 100th like
Wow 🏆
You should have said NORWEGIAN 737

A good ramper would be spacing out the bags, not on top of each other no matter what speed the belt is going!
we have a moving floor system and theirs loads of guys on a minimum soon so that's normal speed for us
