This may be super late to the game but, this thought combined with the model showing the idea that there is always a bigger fish, and the pure gluttony is a very interesting idea indeed
I’m glad someone is bringing attention to all of the creepy weirdness that these medieval texts have! You’re super entertaining and I can’t wait to see more from you!
As both a medieval lit scholar and artist, it brings me a lot of joy to see medieval and renaissance illustrations brought to life in such a unique way. Well done!
It seems I just found my niche -sculptures of little weird medieval creatures- and I love every second of it. Btw, I kinda dig the unpainted eyes, the super sculpey being off-white/ pink made the whole thing look kinda dead and rotten for a sec.
there should be a game, maybe a souls-like rpg or something else that has models like this, based on the weird drawings monks made in the margins of books.
I was drawing this one yesterday on paper and just discovered your channel. Hope youll make some more sculptures from drolatic dreams, because this one is awesome!
YES i was thinking the same. The amount of detail and time he puts into these deserves waaaay more views. Its criminal how nowdays low effort gets high views and great talents get left out.
More more more more please! I love the weird historical stuff, the alchemical references, strange little mythical characters. Very well made, funny narration. Only just discovered your channel and I binged it all in one go. More please 😊
I love your channel ! European countries, asian, African and others have a lot of wild folk lore creatures that you might be interested in btw if you want to get inspired by some medieval art. No need to listen to me man tho you are amazing 😅 Keep doing what you are doing, I know you will get famous ! ❤
Love the historical monster focus So much stuff like that is kinda lost to time and we only really remember the things greeks came up with Yet we have so many beautiful fascinating monsters everywhere
This is the type of art I’ve been looking for. Making models of historical grotesques and curiosities is exactly what we need. Bravo sir! Your skill is exquisite. 🔥❤️🔥🔥
LOVE this content :) It's like you've taken several of my favourite things and rolled them into a single video. Painting? Sculpting? Creepy medieval art? Alchemy? phwoa! So stoked :) Thank you! keep it up!
I absolutely LOVE this content! The history, the weirdness, and of course the painting. Great job dude! I can't wait to see more weird medieval beasts come to life!
all that effort on the frog skin was totally worth it, it came out great! also money shot seems like an overly appropriate term given that codpiece lol
Oh god, the treasure trove of nightmare fuel from the medieval paintings and manuscripts! Great little sculpture, looking forward to the next Boschian horror!
Those hands 😍 The money shots are great, don't hesitate to linger on those, the work diserves it. Love the Berserk vibe. Challenge: pick the most horrid creature in Berserk and try it
As a history buff and artist I must say that you are the coolest person ever! As soon as I clicked on the video I knew I had to subscribe! Your talent, humor, and knowledge is amazing. Please keep up the sick work!!
Just watched your videos in reverse order (unintentionally) and i love all your creepy little things 💕 The sculpts, the paint, and most of all your commentary. Thoroughly delightful. Obviously i’ve subscribed, but also i have to use one of my rare clicks on the notifications icon. I look forward to your future nightmares 😄
Loving this channel! Your narration is great, your artistic ability is top notch, and I absolutely love your subject matter! There is so much material at your disposal here, I'm truly excited about what you have in store!
Oh.. these creatures were not created with the intent to give anyone “The Willies”….these characters are actually “METAPHORS OF NARRATIVES” that basically tell the story of “A CONDITION “ It’s a progressive story of a very important person captured in a sketch
Best channel I've come across in a long time. Love the time and skill you take with them and that you don't chase the algorithm. Medieval texts and art are bizarre so it's great to see you bringing them to life. Hope to see more
@@SomethingWkd when I first watched your videos on laptop it said Bristol as the location under the video (I think it's a feature you can turn off). Now I'm on phone, and not seeing it on your videos. I live in St George and love finding cool local artists. Would be great to maybe see some local artifacts in the channel down the line.
This channel was in my recommendations and I've already subscribed in less an hour. I enjoyed watching this video and I'm excited to see what comes next! Love it!!
What a discovery! What a marvel! I've never commented on a UA-cam video before and I've been watching UA-cam for years. Please, keep doing this! I think I've never watched something that inspired me as much
You'll get to make so many new videos from all the creatures in this book. You can even make an entire channel based on those engravings. Can't wait to se the rest!
Wonderful and weird, maginalia and those strange bookplate illustrations and the bizarre beasts in paintings was part of my childhood obsession that blurred into my lifelong love of mythology. Subbed, I'd hate to miss more of your super sculpts.
so you went and toaded you some froggy. :) at least he knows decency, he's wearing pants. though if I recall right there has been a time where you were considered not naked if at least you were wearing a hat or cap... XD awesomely creepy and absurdly fantastic. :) great debut! ^^
I need moooorrre I love seeing your 3D versions of these pictures I’ve always wondered what they might look like standing before me and this is amazing

pretty insane watching a master like you work. I guess I am boring because my favorite aspect in all the crazyness of it is the pike. definitely would love to see you work some more classic fantasy designs one day as well!

Wicked good. love the production quality and of course your skills in sculpiting, painting, and of course coloring in the history and mythology behind it all. Your other video was equally fantastics and can't wait to see more. Also the chose topics are genius and properly curious.
I really love this sculptures. And seeing u doing them and talking about it, and the shots and music and pace, them it's a good experience. Thanks dude
Really enjoyed this video! Great job good sir! How long did the sculpture take uou to make and what's next? Never mind... just heard you say 3 months.. lol. Do you sell these?
I interpreted it as a satire commentary on the gluttony and greed of some nobles that he was slicing his own belly to be able to eat more.
Oh I like this. I think you're probably right. 💯🙏🏻
You're not wrong, but the Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel are most assuredly not medieval.
The book also no text lol.
As both a medieval lit scholar and artist, it brings me a lot of joy to see medieval and renaissance illustrations brought to life in such a unique way. Well done!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
I love that the fish he's eating are removable. He can have other snackies if he likes!
It seems I just found my niche -sculptures of little weird medieval creatures- and I love every second of it.
Btw, I kinda dig the unpainted eyes, the super sculpey being off-white/ pink made the whole thing look kinda dead and rotten for a sec.
god FINALLY someone is making content like this, weird historical is exactly what the clay youtube community needed
I was envisioning a codpiece, but good lord that one is just egregious.
Excellent presentation style and a refreshing new direction for sculpting yt channels. Great stuff, sir!
That means a lot coming from you! Really big fan of your channel and work 🙏🏻
@LoreCraft have you seen my latest build? Would love to get your take on it. Happy Christmas! 🫀

love this funky frog, i like to interpret him gutting himself as "making room for even MORE food" taken to the extreme
I was drawing this one yesterday on paper and just discovered your channel. Hope youll make some more sculptures from drolatic dreams, because this one is awesome!
Thanks so much! More to come but it's all happening pretty slow because of the old day job.
I've been trying to make an ancient inaccurate whale incense holder where the smoke comes out it's little Shrek ears and such.
Some of the best cod-piece painting I've seen in a long while.
😅
This channel is criminally underrated. Great work! I absolutely love your content

My horrible eyes desire all of the creepy little Medieval things. ❤
The cod-piece 'sparkle' is pure win... Great channel. I've seen DDoP scanned online, but never dreamed anyone would sculpt any of it!
The middle ages were magic😅 i love your attention to detail, your sculptures are amazing and the colors of the paint job are beautifully done 😄
Thank you so much, really appreciate your comment! 🫀
This book has the coolest art saw it long ago In my art studies. It was said to have been a dig at the upper crust elites.
I love your channel ! European countries, asian, African and others have a lot of wild folk lore creatures that you might be interested in btw if you want to get inspired by some medieval art. No need to listen to me man tho you are amazing 😅

there's something magical about this strange, goofy, satirical creature that was sketched up 500 years ago being resurrected as a beautiful sculpture.
Brilliant work…Do give us more…
Those hands 😍
The money shots are great, don't hesitate to linger on those, the work diserves it.
Love the Berserk vibe.

Fantastic. I'd really love to see more of the little guys from _The Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel._
There will definitely be more! 🫀
Just discovered your channel... love it... small suggestion, it would be nice to see the original picture next to the finished statue at the end.
Holy fish shit... thats amazing. Im not a sculptor, I paint miniatures and canvases... and people but that series inspired me to make them crazies.
Finally, something to go with my bardcore and tavern ale
So glad this popped up in my feed! You have a way of bringing these creatures to life, especially the details in the painting! Please keep it up
Yo the medieval people designed some awesome monsters.
It's rare to find a crafting youtuber with both a high level of sculpting AND informative and entertaining talk.
I definitely want to see more of these creations!!!
Loving this channel! Your narration is great, your artistic ability is top notch, and I absolutely love your subject matter! There is so much material at your disposal here, I'm truly excited about what you have in store!
I regret learning about cod pieces, but I don’t regret watching this video. Medieval stuff is always fascinating
Keep the creepy creatures coming and I’m all here for it! Great job, so we’ll executed! Thanks for creating the vid

I hate how society has made our craftsmen self conscious about having dirty hands. Candy Butts!
Thanks for the comment! In truth, I don't give a shit! 😂 Perfectly manicured hands would look wrong with this kind of content. 🫀
i cant believe it used to be a flex to look like u were bricked up 24/7 in broad daylight
Commenting on this video as well for engagement purposes. 😅
Keep up the great work!
Thank you!! 😁
Amazing! I would have loved some more context for this guy, in particular the commentary implicit in the whole self-mutilation/gluttony thing.
Can’t wait for the next video 👏👏👏 wonderfully narrated, crafted and presented 👍
Wonderful and weird, maginalia and those strange bookplate illustrations and the bizarre beasts in paintings was part of my childhood obsession that blurred into my lifelong love of mythology. Subbed, I'd hate to miss more of your super sculpts.
