Not only urban heat island, but many of these temperature stations were at airports.
One of the CET stations (oldest temp data record in the world) was at Ringway (Manchester airport). It was located at a taxiway junction, and was merely recording the rise of big jets at Manchester airport. In 2010 it was moved to a Catholic college, but those temperature rises were already baked in to the data.

So during the daytime we are dangerously close to photosynthesis not happening. CO2 is only happening when the plants exhale at night, so it is natural? Far as I can see water vapour is more of a green house gas than CO2, and they aren't very good at modelling that. The journal Nature say the models run too hot.

Given the development of IOT (Internet of Things), solar and wind power off-grid systems, why on earth are we still relying on manually read weather stations in urban areas? Surely we could put temperature sensors out in remote areas and get a far more accurate temperature record that's uploaded in near real time to 'cloud reporting portals'. It seems like in this day and age of accurate data analysis and capture its very convenient for the global warming experts to select urban heat island samples instead of a more uniform network of monitoring.

AGW is based on manipulated data, the UoEA emails proved that. Data points which do not fit their models are deleted, and if you can manufacture temperatures from heat islands then so much the better.
I have no idea if AGW is right or not, I do know, however, that its proponents are scam artists.

We also had Met Office weather instruments and many of us were trained by the Met Office as weather observers and to report back to the Met Office every 4 hours. The problem with scientific research is the way it's funded. The funding body own the research they paid for so unfavourable results don't get published while favourable results do. Subsequently researchers who do find what they're paid to find get published, added to the tally of "scientists agree" and are rewarded with grants for more research. Who pays the piper calls the tune.

A lady with common sense. The part about temperature measuring instrument locations is very interesting and logical, particularly due to the urban sprawl now so apparent.
When I delved into claims about climate change, it became clear that the change in temperature claimed by the scientists included measurements well within the tolerances of the measuring instruments. This means that the measurements claimed couldn't be relied upon as a basis for the scaremongering our government throws at us. Temperature measuring devices need periodic calibration, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and there's always a tolerance involved. If it's claimed that the temperature rise is within that tolerance then there can be no certainty there is a real change.
One other issue which is obvious to the casual observer is clouds. Climatologists cannot model these anywhere near accurately, clearly because they are so random. I also believe that the impact of aircraft contrails has not been fully understood by far, research by a scientist studying temperature range at the time of 9/11 found an unprecedented significant effect on day and night temperature range due to the grounding of aircraft over the USA for a few days (an instantaneous effect).

I mean, it seems the only thing stopping me from conjuring snake oil and gaining government funding for the project are my principles.

How much is the Green agenda costing the UK?
Answer from the Institute for government
According to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) report, the £1.1 trillion in savings from reaching net zero by 2050 come from:
    • £240 billion from reduced greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution
    • £100 billion from carbon pricing
    • £150 billion from increased energy efficiency
    • £20 billion from reduced energy imports
    • £50 billion from jobs and economic growth
These savings are expected to offset the estimated costs of around £1.4 trillion associated with reaching net zero by 2050, resulting in a net cost of £321 billion, or £10 billion per year.
    My Question to AI was:?
So its all cost and no savings we wont be better off
    Answer from AI:
That's correct. According to the OBR's estimate, the total cost of reaching net zero by 2050 would be £1.4 trillion, while the savings would be £1.1 trillion, leaving a net cost of £321 billion. This means that, in this scenario, the UK would not be better off overall, and would actually be worse off by £321 billion.
The Green agenda is all cost with no benefits, in fact there are even bigger losses than indicated here in terms of jobs lost, not to be replaced by green jobs, no housing no food. Starvation would be a real thing and more.

Carbon dioxide is a heavy gas and drops from the mix as the altitude increases, this does not reflect in the infra red reflection to the Earth and what would be a warming event.
I have noticed that the greening of my woodland is becoming more and more pronounced , it it is growing faster and greener than I ever remember before., The more Carbon dioxide the less the pores in the leaves need to open and the less water is needed, although we seem to be doing rather well on that front too.😊

It is well known now that cities are much warmer than the countryside and here in Kent both June and July have been cool and windy. Which makes me wonder if they are “seeding” clouds to try and create wind for their failing wind factories…

Recalling my time as a self identified Green, it was a pleasant identity to have. Other Greens were generally pleasant, nice people, and inoffensive.
We had this common belief that we really cared, felt a responsibility and were prepared to make sacrifices for a greater good. But therein lay the danger.
We didn't regard ourselves as sanctimonious, but behind the facade of our niceness lurked a sanctimonious hubris, in that we regarded people other than ourselves as ignorant and in need of saving.
It began with a love of nature, not a bad thing to have, a dislike of pollution, desolation, and contamination. But contaminated we were, we took the CO2 global warming, climate crisis narrative, hook, line and sinker, with little question, or examination ! Yes the people selling the idea buried us in data, but we didn't choose to examine, or challenge them, we were the chosen, who were out to save the planet.
How many have rewatched Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth ? The first time I watched it I took it as truth, it spurred me on, confirming my belief and reinforcing my self image. Well it didn't stand the test of time, much like Greta's tweets, it's an embarrassment, the crisis failed to emerge.
CVD ! Thank you CVD for opening my eyes. You revealed yourself for what you are, ambitious totalitarian, authoritarian, Malthusians, who hate humanity ! There they all were, the philanthro capitalists who sold me “ Oil will make us boil “ pushing by every means bar physically holding me down, to put an experimental gene therapy into my body, into all our bodies ! You let the mask drop, and as a consequence, I rigorously examined everything you had ever told me and found it wanting !
There is always more than one way to approach a problem, so why not employ all of them ? The problem in your eyes is us, the useless eaters, so how do you reduce our numbers ? Well if you can get them to hate themselves, which a generation or more clearly does ! Get them to identify as a blight on the planet ? And then they might just volunteer, go quietly ? Slowly poisoned by novel “foods”, novel pharmaceuticals, particles sprayed into the air, starving as the politicians who claim to represent them attack the food supply, through austerity because the oil that fuels our prosperity is reduced and removed, or better still casualties to avoidable wars.
Well you misunderstood this former Green ! Yes I love nature, and I love the planet, but I love humanity too. And as for you Malthusians ? You are the problem seeking a solution, and people are starting to realise, so you’d better finish building your bunkers soon !

I know people who were in the original Green Party when it was called the Ecology Party and they tell me it was good and with people who genuinely wanted to do good. Like so many things it became co-opted. It's all too easy to prey on people's good intentions - isn't the road to hell paved with them!
I came across a great quote the other day “The banality of evil refers to the fact that evil can be committed by ordinary, unremarkable people who are not driven by a desire for evil, but rather by a lack of moral imagination and a failure to think critically about the consequences of their actions.”
We've got to hope more people start to think critically than we currently have!

      @farmerjowett3736 Місяць тому

This ‘sanctimonious hubris’ that you describe is exactly correct. I often wonder about where it comes from. My conclusion is that the ego is at play here along with a general preponderance to going along with the current group think ( which is also partly the effect of the sanctimonious hubris). In addition most folks seem to have not fully grasped how the big corporations have literally melded with the State in the west and the resulting political-corporate/media complex is in near total control. Therefore the info ( propaganda?) coming out of this complex has the feel of ‘officialdom’ written all over it, hypnotising those who depend upon it and ultimately short circuiting the critical thinking capacity. This hubris is often accompanied by a tendency to be derogatory to those questioning the authority bureaucracy cascade as mere ‘conspiracy theorists’ . This how ‘the banility of evil’ can take hold. As Rachel points out here somewhere’ we need more critical thinkers’!

12/13 January 2022 the Hunga Tonga eruption N.E of New Zealand ejected an estimated one trillion tons of water vapor into the ionosphere... some even went into space. The water vapor in the ionosphere does NOT fall as rain very quickly. Climatologists (real ones) studying the impact of that eruption on GLOBAL weather systems estimate conservatively that global weather systems will be effected for a min of ten years. It was a massive eruption, images caught on satellite at the time. The eruption was heard in Alaska. Since then the water vapor has been carried by weather systems all around the globe... bound to impact weather pretty well everywhere to some degree I would think, but not a word about it by MM in the past 12 months...nooo, blame co2 and phony thermometer readings...
