I was 17 when Steelheart put out their debut album, and it remains one of my favorites. .. This song came from their 2nd album, and you really should see the live performance video of it. Cheers from northeast Ohio.
Thanks for your dialog on this song. Been a Steelheart fan since they hit MTV w/ Ill never let you go. Didnt know this song ment this. Travis you are correct on how tough it is to people who have lost their mom. Unfortunately i did when I was 11 and it never goes away!
Well I understand what you guys are saying but the essence of the song is for her not to cry because of everything he's taught her everything that he's lived with her everything that is a part of her and his life is always going to be there always so don't cry Mama it's okay you know I think it's absolutely wonderful the most beautiful thought you could give to someone who's passed away is I'll be okay I went to the very same thing with my mother and father who passed and buried together at one waiting for the other I had to put away my feelings of hurt and pain that I was relieving their death again that I wasn't I was giving them birth of a new life and that's what I think this song is about as part of its okay mama don't be sad be happy with everything you've given me that's what I love about this song
If you want to hear probably their heaviest song, give a listen to the song titled Steelheart by Steelheart. I think he hits his highest note on this one. Don't know for sure, but definitely worth a listen.
I lost my mother a couple of years ago. The pain never really goes away.. The memory is always there.. I swear the other day I saw her face in the clouds... Cherish the moments of time you have with your parents.. I have lost both of my parents and would give anything to have them with us.. This song has been getting to me for years...
I lost my mom in 2016 to pancreatic cancer, which runs rampant in her side of the family. She was perfectly fine one day and within just a couple months she was gone. And it tore our family apart. And I thought of this song when she passed and I still listen to this song at times. Cause it's so right. She's always there in my heart, my dreams.
This is my personal favorite by them, the song before (Called Steelheart) is about an abusive father… his maybe? But this one was played at my mothers showing.. my wife knows to this day the effect that shit song has on me.. very personal. And speaking of my wife… 2 of our wedding songs is by them. The one we danced to was All your love (also on this album) the second is Lips of rain (released in 2017 a few months before her and I met) so check those 2 also.
Millie released his remake video of his sing We All Die Young with footage of the stage falling in him almost killing him. What a great comeback by him.Much respect
I lost my mum when i was 16 (1990). I was holding her when she passed. That night when the police told my 6 year old sister that her mum had died i can still hear her scream to this very day. This song always tears me up and i look at my 13 year old daughter and i remember back to 2014 when her mum got put into hospital with a really deadly lung infection and she turned to me and said “Mummy’s going to die isn’t she?”…..i can’t imagine my daughter growing up without her mum. She did recover. Scary. Love those who are close to you everyday. Tell them. Show them, because they can be ripped from you suddenly.
It's amazing Mike didn't cry singing this song. I understand how broken his heart creating this song. I've lost my sister. And I was broken. I can't imagine if I lost my mom
Please check Denden Gonzales from Indonesia, just check his sing steel heart song Its amazing cover bro and sis, check "shes gone" and "i Will never let you go" Denden Gonzales have unique voice and he smoking at the time he sing both that song
This song had my mom, sister, brother-in-law, niece (12), nephew (10), and I sobbing. My aunt on my mom's side passed away from cancer and we were all REALLY close and seen each other a lot, no one could control the pain we were all feeling the night we heard this song our first time, never will forget that experience. Truly so sad to never hear her voice again.. never have her dishes she would make for get togethers again.. never experience anything again with her really hurts.

yes as good as this is live there were so much better
The only thing about the live version is it's missing the children's choir.
Yep - the emotion in the likes of the live-acoustic Japan performance (that had _She's Gone_ and _Sheila)_ is top-notch.
Love this song..Hands down one of my favorite bands. I lost my mom at 4...I can 't believe it has been 46 years since she passed
His live piano version of this is beautiful!
Love that you did this one!!! Now do "Can't Stop Me Loving You, Eileen, Sheila, Gimme Gimme". You'll love them too!!!
