That is the characteristic of iVtec.. valve opening will be small in low rpm so if driven sedately u will get good mileage and once u rev up the engine the valve opening timing will increase along with lift. Thus u get acceleration rush!

I was always curious about i-VTECH vs TSI, but never got an article/source to refer from.

Vtec kicks in at 4k rpms?
That's wild
I had to lower it to 4250 rpms using Ktuner
Low-key expected a “vtec kicked in yo” reference in there
Cyrus doing simplified is simply awesome 😍
Woo hoo! And he's working on more! Stay tuned!
Felt like I needed to do a prerequisite course on basic engine components and functionality to keep up with the pace of the video.
We hear ya! ;)
I know about the tech but just watched it fully for the love of PD.
Vtec is hitech ❤️🔥🌟💥
Thanks for doing this for cars! Very impressed
Yay! More to come!

My Civic has iVTEC but I’ve never noticed it before.
I don't think I understood the difference between VTEC and i-VTEC. The only difference is the number of camshafts?
Plz explain "Torque curve" in ur next video.

What is the Vetch threshold rpm for 5th gen city
4000 rpm
4300
If iVtec is performance driven then why is the economy of city not justified. I mean approximately 12-14 on city and 16-18 on highways
