@Gamers Nexus There’s an error at 13:25. Cable management space is read out in millimetre instead of centimetres. Instead of saying there’s 1.5-1.9 centimetres of space you say there’s 1.5-1.9 millimetres of space. This error is also present on the website in the text portion but not in the specs list.
I pre-ordered mine and got it 3 weeks before the street date so i wouldn't be surprised especially with how these cases were hyped up (both positively and negatively mind you) back at CES when they were announced

@@crunch9876 and the H500 is indeed as good as they said it was - I was actually stuck between the H500 and the TD500 but only went for the H500 because there was a GN review on it lmao (and it is just better overall tbh)
Hand forged parts don't play well with tolerances. And as for the guy wanting to put in holes in it, forging hardens steel unless you temper it first, so either get a big ass oven or a lot of drill bits
Thank you for reminding everyone that closed loop radiators should be placed with the tubes down (although it looks way less cool). It's very hard to find this tiny but important bit of information anywhere on the web or user manuals for that matter. Speaking of user manuals, they never even touch in the subject of front mounted radiators which paradoxically make the most sense placementwise anyway.
For your last point: depends. If the GPU Temp is the "bottelneck" of your Performance a top mounted rad has its advantages. But as Jay concludes, the difference is very slim, soit doesn't mattet much.
Agree R.E. Steve promoting correct installation regarding tube positioning. However: Front mounting radiators is NOT the best placement assuming front intake. Just means you are carefully taking heat to the front of the case and then blowing it back inside! Radiators should /ideally/ be placed on exhausts. Unfortunately due to sunk costs in tooling as discussed in the video, the case market is very slow to adapt to trends such as AIO and so the case manufacturers love to point out how the fact their old internal design wastes loads of space at the front grants it great radiator support! It's pure marketing from case manufacturers whereas radiator manufacturers have nothing to gain from suggesting an intake installation.
@mister.T Jr I really don't know how you got the impression that I am defending case companies when my whole comment criticizes them for promoting poor practice and bodging support. I largely agree with you.
@@zig131 Conversely though, unless your AIO rad is in a completely separate compartment, exhausting the hot GPU air through the rad only spikes up CPU temps. And considering most good GPU coolers don't really get affected by hotter ambients too much, versus AIOs getting very affected by exhausting hot air through it, front mount for AIOs are typically better.
This case is such a beauty! Good enough airflow, balanced design elements, looks attractive yet subtle, has room for lot of upgrades and also priced reasonably. I got this one in black. 🖤 (glad I ditched nzxt h510 for this lol)
I always like reading stuff like this because it's so relatable. Back when I had time to watch a bunch of content creators, I always enjoyed using it as a break to relax. It's a high compliment!
I bought this case for child PC build at march for school (and gaming :) ). It was hard to get a white case for her that fit her taste and I felt should have a decent cooling. I am not a fan for top mesh as it feels flimsy. But we are both happy with our purchase. BTW she was the main PC builder at 8yo. :)

INS4NITY thank you for thinking! Of course this PC was ment for school stuff, and it was a great help during lockdown. Well, buying games was almost a waste of money, as she likes to play with dolls and go outside. We migh play rocket league together once a week for 30min.

Not really. Look at phanteks p600s. They have good removable front filter but also fabric in front of it which don't block any air but hides how dusty the filter gets. So even if You don't clean it for 2 months, then you take out the front fabric panel and the filter is all dusty. The airflow is Soo good that it takes only 2 or 3 weeks for mine to get all grey. Would hate this to be visible all the time
Dave's Unbranded No front cover is an overshoot, but I sure as hell wish every case had a mesh front panel instead of a plastic/metal/tempered glass slab.
I just bought this case this month for my 5600x+3060Ti build. It’s been pretty good so far and haven’t had any problems with its thermals. Keeping in mind that I only have the 3 Stock fans for intake and added 1 exhaust fan (from my old PC from 2013-2015???), and using the stock Wraith Cooler that my 5600X came with. I haven’t touched or adjusted any fan settings and yet it has been able to keep a good cool temp of 45-55C. It would occasionally go to up to 60-65 but only that’s when I’m running multiple apps all at the same time. I’m planning to add 2 more exhaust fans at the top or an AIO. I’d say it’s a good buy for the money spent. PS: I have my room AC at 23-24C whenever I’m there using my PC.
That HDD cage is an interesting design. Allows most of the benefits of removal without compromising on the structural integrity of having it support the shroud (and saves money). Good idea for most use cases.
The factory tours you guys took were such a good investment for the channel. Not only was the content great, but it seems to offer a perspective not seen in most other reviews.
Pretty solid case. This wasn't even on my radar when I was case shopping for my new build, I ended up going with the tried and true meshify C which this case looks HEAVILY inspired by, especially the front panel with that angular mesh grill. I agree. I don't really have any regrets as I love the meshify but this is an intriguing case too. Something to keep in mind for the future. I do like what they're calling a "crystalline" tempered glass panel, with the cuts in it. Pretty unique looking.
Bought this case on your recommendation for my first pc build. looks super sweet, everything is staying cool with stock coolers in stress tests, and I couldn't be happier. thanks for the info.
@@joelss420 i did install one exhaust fan. the ehxhaust is always running very low so i don't have to close off any other ports to keep positive pressure. so far it's running clean and the air is moving stright from the intake to exhaust at the back, very quickly. ive done the vapor flow test, and it runs in and out perfectly.
Personally, I like the uniformly faceted mesh more than randomly facets. The randomness of the low-poly look that facets can give can work, but only on a 3D shape, not a 2D sheet with random mountains and valleys put into it. Uniformly faceting a 2D surface gives it a much cleaner look, akin to how jewels are cut, which is important for how the jewel plays with light, which can also be seen with this case's mesh front panel. Even without the RGB fans, the mesh still looks nice. Also the idea of using pins for mounting could lead to something useful eventually. Imagine a single piece removable and reusable rivet, either metal or higher strength plastic. Simple in and out, and no repetitive screwing, might even be faster to use. If they made it strong enough for water cooling components, I could see the idea being used, a lot, especially between the ease of use and aesthetics of them.

I took this case recently and its rly great compared to other ones i used,i prefer it more than the Corsair 220T even tho that one is also good, this one easy to build in, has good room for upgrade almost anything, like any AIO size without compromise, good looking and good airflow, it has much space inside without being huge outside, i love it!
7:25 "And the mesh is flush with the frame around the edges, leaving no air gaps." Air gap visible at the top on the pan shot. It might have popped loose when you were taking the case on/off.
I picked up this case a few months ago. Loving it. Simple and effective. Ryzen 3700x and RTX 3070, CPU temps of 35 and full load of around 75. GPU idle's around 27 and full load around 60. Upgraded fans to the Cooler Master Halo's x 5. 3 intake and two exhaust while using the stock Wraith Prism on the CPU.

Got the Coolermaster MB511 mesh for 53€ (about $60) recently and airflow and temps are fine and it was really nice to build in it. strongly recommend that thing
Augh, why must they tease me with part of a 5-1/4" bay? I'd love to see them return at the bottom of a case, in place of the fan that blows air into the cable management shroud. EDIT: BRB going to Japan
I find an external drive (a full 5-1/4" mind not the bad quality thin ones) straight-up more convenient. I can place it in easy reach for sitting at my desk while having my PC positioned much higher. Just get a USB-SATA cable and you can have a proper solid DVD or Bluray drive conveniently on your desk for whenever you might need it while keeping great airflow to your CPU ;)

@@zig131 Thanks, but I don't want it for a disc drive. You can do way more with 5-1/4" bays than just disc drives. My current computer has a little drawer for flash drives and memory card readers as well as an expansion for front USB C. Plus one or two bays at the bottom wouldn't prevent great airflow to my CPU. It would prevent great airflow to **checks notes** the part of my power supply where the modular cables plug in. Yeah, don't need airflow there.

I'm an independent system builder as a side job and while business has been both booming and infuriating lately with the combination of stimulus checks and stock issues, I've managed to do 3 client builds in this case so far- specifically for clients who want a white-themed build with lots of RGB, which is a lot more common than said clients seem to realize. The reason I've recommended those clients snipe this case when it was in stock and build around it was the combination of aesthetics, airflow, and value. I simply refuse to build a hotbox, even with someone else's money. Those same clients generally want to populate all fan slots for aesthetics and they want CPU liquid cooling. A TD500 + ML360R accomplishes this with aplomb while still having matching fans and connectors. This means the customer only has to buy a single fan to fill out the fan slots. For ~$270 total for a case, 7 matching ARGB fans, and a pump/rad/tubes combo, this is a great starting point for more flashy value builds. The cable management isn't great, but it's plenty workable, especially if no 3.5" HDD's are being used. Honestly, I think Cooler Master has found a really good sweet spot with this case.
i have this case and i removed the mesh off the front to keep the trim complete and then i filled it up with a x570 tuf gaming wifi mobo, ryzen 5 3600, rtx 3070 tuf, 64gb g.skill trident z rgb ram, samsung 970 250gb m.2, corsair force mp600 500gb m.2, seagate barracuda 2tb hdd, thermaltake toughpower rgb 650w psu, lian-li galahad 240 white. and replaced all front fans and rear fan with white lian-li unifan sl 120's. and dressed with lian-li rgb strimer cables. its absolutely beautiful. one of my favorite builds ive done so far.
I finally received my wireframe mousepad and love it! I live in France so a bit of waiting but worth it : -the mousepad is sewd and lands flat on the desk (no twist to it) -sewing looks very neat -grips well on the desk -It's thinner than my razer gigantus but more ergonomic, it's good for gaming Also i love the wireframe design, rather than the previous gn "only logo" mousepad Overall good job guys!
If only another certain company could listen and put thought into the things they produce.... I like this case, definitely on my list for my next build.
I have the Cooler Master H500 with the two 200MM fans in front, and 3 of their MF120 Halo ARGB fans as rear and top exhaust. I love it, but if the TD500 had been available when I built this back in Jan/Feb 2020, I would have bought it instead solely for the slightly better looks. But seriously, between the H500 and the TD500, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Nice review, guys.
13:27 Regarding Cable Management space behind the motherboard tray; "CoolerMaster lists clearance as 1.9mm" ...that is not a lot of space. Are you sure its not 1.9cm / 19mm? (1.9 mm is less than 1/10th of an inch)
This has been sold in my country and I've been recommending it for quite some time already and just like I thought, it's a really good case and great value mainly because of the ARGB fans. I can already imagine this getting more popular and sold out now that this review is out.
@makaroner Being a White-colored case is actually a feature a lot of people want and the NR400/600 doesn't provide that and there's also a black version of the TD500 mesh if you didn't know. Your RGB comment is just a personal preference, just because it's flashy for you means it's flashy for other people. TD500 mesh providing 3 ARGB fans saves quite a decent amount of money for people who want RGB on their builds. Though as a complete value perspective disregarding any aesthetic preference, the NR400/600 is better since it's cheaper and you can just add 1 front fan as shown in their testing to have better CPU temps than the TD500 mesh.
I was going to buy the Phanteks P400A ( I was very happy with my last Phanteks case) but two reasons why I didn't. It was out of stock or price was inflated, also it was limited on large air cooler mounting height. So thank you Steve and the gang as I bought the Be Quiet 500DX and I am super happy with it. Great clearance for my Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler. Seems to work great with 140mm x2 front (intake), 140mm top (exhaust) and 120mm rear (Exhaust, My Gpu has a 120mm AIO which exhausts here). One thing I would like to see with the case reviews is if you would mention the air cooler max height with each case. Thanks again, love the videos.

This case does seriously look like Cooler Master at least tried to cater to actual performance, while also having enough RGB bling/aesthetics. I wish all cases could go in this direction.
I agree, if I end up getting this case, I will spray plasti-dip on the logo, either with an accent colour, or same color to just hide it completely. Their logo is a lot cleaner without the name on it like they are branding cattle.
Wow Ive seen lots of case reviews, and Im always astounded by what we get for our money, eg the steel panels. the welding, the screws, the wiring, the box, etc etc. And now I see your clips of the factory that makes the cases! (first time for me) How do they ever get their R&D back and make a profit?
i just got this case to put my current x570 build in, while i use my current phanteks evolv x case for my new build! can't believe how cheap this case is for the quality of it! and to see GN give it a 'good' review is over the top! lol
You mentioned the potential of optical disc drive support in some versions or future builds on this nice case. We have spot welded brackets in the top front but face them to the opening glass side on some so far. Works fine.
I've watched tons of your videos over the past week trying to figure out the best case with the best airflow to cost on a steep budget. This is the one I'm deciding on. Many mahalos!
Got one sitting on the desk in front of me, 1 week old build - Looks nice, got it for good value, runs very cool, lots of aRGB vomit. Now to just sort out this windows kernel power 41 issue.
I have a K500, which seems to be from the same chassis family. My USB front header has popped out a few times in the past. One port is also temperamental. I wish I had more cable management room on the side - it's an issue. One big point that this gets right: buttons are not on top. My cat turned of my old computer when she got on the case multiple times because the HAF 922 had buttons on top. Seriously, case makers should hear things like that. I kept a guitar interface over the button for years. Also, the shroud along the bottom is cool for hiding cabling. Don't get a fancy looking PSU for it - you won't be able to see it, but it helps keep the system looking neat.
Just received my GN Mouse Mat (it takes a while to get from US -> Finland) and it was even signed with #99. Very cool, thanks Steve :) And talking about TD500, I built one machine for a friend in the previous H500P Mesh ARGB, they liked it and the temps and noise were very good. Mesh cases seem to be actually better than "noise dampening" cases with horrible airflow. I need to upgrade at least one of my own machines to mesh case, as Folding@Home at summer is quite noisy...
I have both this case and h500 and they're both great. just a few degrees difference on cpu/gpu tortures are as you said, margin of error territory. I love the huge 20cm fans on h500 and slick design of td500
Great review, dont give up on case reviews, they are a favourite. Dont know if I would get one of these, too many things that dont work for me. I think it was GN that once suggested to drop Fractal a line directly at their website comment page, regarding case design ideas (maybe it was Jay ... hmmm). So I did. I detailed an idea for a better designed meshify style with ++ airflow, options for bigger so called E-ATX boards, proper room for properly mounted front AIO rad or 3x140 fans, custom loupes or large NH15's, scrap the foam dust filter and that weird front filter frame assembly, better cable routes, better multi SSD and HDD option spaces and other minor 'stuff they get wrong' fixes, including having; 1) enough fans or 2) enough RGB fans or 3) no fans at all - purchase options. aand explained how it could be done with a minimum of manufacture assembly line build variables and use mostly 'out of the fractal parts bin' approach. Offered to coordinate to help ... for free (or maybe for 1 case). I heard nothing. Crickets. I shouldn't be surprised (sigh)
I'd really love if all cases came easily available with a barebones "no fans included" option. Even if it only saves a few bucks, I'm set for fans already thanks. If they need to add "additional value" that's reflected in the price (i.e. increased) I'd happily pay the extra to get rid of the cheap looking plastic front panels, when the rest of the build is all metal and glass. Filters, grommets etc. notwithstanding. This case's front panel is mismatched in colour to the rest of the panels for example. It looks cheap in a 'nasty' sense.
@@nimrodery - thought of that. The thing is the Define is a significantly taller box, so a new meshify screen would need designing and manufacturing. Another unticked box on my list is regarding cable routes in the back ... the define has next to none, meshify C has a huge channel, so a marriage of these ideas is needed. There might be something to the basic idea though.
I've been running the TD500 for 2 years, intel z390 9700k with a noctua NH-U12S cpu cooler, and a 120mm exhaust fan behind it, a RTX 3060 and it does in fact stay around 50°C.
If you’re planning on getting this case, DO IT i just got mine about 3 days ago. It’s nice that you can fit a 360mm radiator in the front and and on the top, i replaced all my fans with noctua fans and my 8700K only gets to 22c with a DeepCool Castle 360ex, airflow with this case goes very good. The inly cons i would say is cable management can be a little complicated due to so cramped in the back
I have put together a gaming PC (R5 3600; 16 GB HyperX RGB RAM; GTX 1650 Super which was the only available GPU I could find) for a 13 year-old with this case. And I must say it was a pleasure working with this case. I liked it a lot, and I would buy one for myself. (If only the white one did not cost more than the black one!)
I'm glad to hear this case did well! I have one (in black) sitting next to me that I just bought to build a B550 system in. This will be my first build since 2011, so time to shake off some rust ;-)
I think the grey top filter is a good choice by CM. 1. It matches the grey-white theme. 2. Dust will be less visible. If it was white, it will appear dirty 1 day after you cleaned it.
I bought the Corsair 680X RGB Case and took out the 120mm fan in back and put a 140mm RGB Fan in its place. 2 140mm RGB Fan's on bottom. Cool and Silent!
Tempered Glass is nice looking and luxurious but I would definitely trade a fancy shaped piece of glass for some acrylic panels in the same shape if it meant getting some more user friendly features added to the case.
Like the front mesh idea. Nice case. Not sure why case makers put so much money into the cotton-candy surupy RGB lighting. A case I would not mind and also like the mesh better than my favorite modern case (Corsair 220T).
I can certainly attest to Cooler Master's obsession with the number 500; my PC is built with the MC500P case, which could've simply been named some variation of "MasterCase 5" since that's what it really is!

I bought this case for child PC build at march for school (and gaming :) ). It was hard to get a white case for her that fit her taste and I felt should have a decent cooling. I am not a fan for top mesh as it feels flimsy. But we are both happy with our purchase. BTW she was the main PC builder at 8yo. :)

INS4NITY thank you for thinking! Of course this PC was ment for school stuff, and it was a great help during lockdown. Well, buying games was almost a waste of money, as she likes to play with dolls and go outside. We migh play rocket league together once a week for 30min.

Not really. Look at phanteks p600s. They have good removable front filter but also fabric in front of it which don't block any air but hides how dusty the filter gets. So even if You don't clean it for 2 months, then you take out the front fabric panel and the filter is all dusty. The airflow is Soo good that it takes only 2 or 3 weeks for mine to get all grey. Would hate this to be visible all the time

Dave's Unbranded No front cover is an overshoot, but I sure as hell wish every case had a mesh front panel instead of a plastic/metal/tempered glass slab.
I keep my pc on my desk. No dust. On the floor is a totally different story.

GN getting trolled by CM. It feels like I'm waking up to Saturday morning cartoons.
I just bought this case this month for my 5600x+3060Ti build. It’s been pretty good so far and haven’t had any problems with its thermals. Keeping in mind that I only have the 3 Stock fans for intake and added 1 exhaust fan (from my old PC from 2013-2015???), and using the stock Wraith Cooler that my 5600X came with.
I haven’t touched or adjusted any fan settings and yet it has been able to keep a good cool temp of 45-55C. It would occasionally go to up to 60-65 but only that’s when I’m running multiple apps all at the same time.
I’m planning to add 2 more exhaust fans at the top or an AIO. I’d say it’s a good buy for the money spent.
PS: I have my room AC at 23-24C whenever I’m there using my PC.
That HDD cage is an interesting design. Allows most of the benefits of removal without compromising on the structural integrity of having it support the shroud (and saves money). Good idea for most use cases.
The factory tours you guys took were such a good investment for the channel. Not only was the content great, but it seems to offer a perspective not seen in most other reviews.
Pretty solid case. This wasn't even on my radar when I was case shopping for my new build, I ended up going with the tried and true meshify C which this case looks HEAVILY inspired by, especially the front panel with that angular mesh grill. I agree. I don't really have any regrets as I love the meshify but this is an intriguing case too. Something to keep in mind for the future. I do like what they're calling a "crystalline" tempered glass panel, with the cuts in it. Pretty unique looking.

do you need to install any extra fans or are the 3 preinstalled fans enough?
@@joelss420 i did install one exhaust fan. the ehxhaust is always running very low so i don't have to close off any other ports to keep positive pressure. so far it's running clean and the air is moving stright from the intake to exhaust at the back, very quickly. ive done the vapor flow test, and it runs in and out perfectly.
Glad i pre-ordered 2 of these months ago, after such a positive review theyre gonna be sold out forever.
These cases are always in and out of stock, with fluctuating prices, so it's good to see more options for good cases.

Personally, I like the uniformly faceted mesh more than randomly facets. The randomness of the low-poly look that facets can give can work, but only on a 3D shape, not a 2D sheet with random mountains and valleys put into it. Uniformly faceting a 2D surface gives it a much cleaner look, akin to how jewels are cut, which is important for how the jewel plays with light, which can also be seen with this case's mesh front panel. Even without the RGB fans, the mesh still looks nice.
Also the idea of using pins for mounting could lead to something useful eventually. Imagine a single piece removable and reusable rivet, either metal or higher strength plastic. Simple in and out, and no repetitive screwing, might even be faster to use. If they made it strong enough for water cooling components, I could see the idea being used, a lot, especially between the ease of use and aesthetics of them.
I love the mesh design on the front. Wish the Meshify C had a white/light grey mesh on their white version

I took this case recently and its rly great compared to other ones i used,i prefer it more than the Corsair 220T even tho that one is also good, this one easy to build in, has good room for upgrade almost anything, like any AIO size without compromise, good looking and good airflow, it has much space inside without being huge outside, i love it!

I picked up this case a few months ago. Loving it. Simple and effective. Ryzen 3700x and RTX 3070, CPU temps of 35 and full load of around 75. GPU idle's around 27 and full load around 60. Upgraded fans to the Cooler Master Halo's x 5. 3 intake and two exhaust while using the stock Wraith Prism on the CPU.

Got the Coolermaster MB511 mesh for 53€ (about $60) recently and airflow and temps are fine and it was really nice to build in it. strongly recommend that thing

I find an external drive (a full 5-1/4" mind not the bad quality thin ones) straight-up more convenient.
I can place it in easy reach for sitting at my desk while having my PC positioned much higher.
Just get a USB-SATA cable and you can have a proper solid DVD or Bluray drive conveniently on your desk for whenever you might need it while keeping great airflow to your CPU ;)

@@zig131 Thanks, but I don't want it for a disc drive. You can do way more with 5-1/4" bays than just disc drives. My current computer has a little drawer for flash drives and memory card readers as well as an expansion for front USB C.
Plus one or two bays at the bottom wouldn't prevent great airflow to my CPU. It would prevent great airflow to **checks notes** the part of my power supply where the modular cables plug in. Yeah, don't need airflow there.

I'm an independent system builder as a side job and while business has been both booming and infuriating lately with the combination of stimulus checks and stock issues, I've managed to do 3 client builds in this case so far- specifically for clients who want a white-themed build with lots of RGB, which is a lot more common than said clients seem to realize. The reason I've recommended those clients snipe this case when it was in stock and build around it was the combination of aesthetics, airflow, and value. I simply refuse to build a hotbox, even with someone else's money. Those same clients generally want to populate all fan slots for aesthetics and they want CPU liquid cooling. A TD500 + ML360R accomplishes this with aplomb while still having matching fans and connectors. This means the customer only has to buy a single fan to fill out the fan slots. For ~$270 total for a case, 7 matching ARGB fans, and a pump/rad/tubes combo, this is a great starting point for more flashy value builds. The cable management isn't great, but it's plenty workable, especially if no 3.5" HDD's are being used. Honestly, I think Cooler Master has found a really good sweet spot with this case.
i have this case and i removed the mesh off the front to keep the trim complete and then i filled it up with a x570 tuf gaming wifi mobo, ryzen 5 3600, rtx 3070 tuf, 64gb g.skill trident z rgb ram, samsung 970 250gb m.2, corsair force mp600 500gb m.2, seagate barracuda 2tb hdd, thermaltake toughpower rgb 650w psu, lian-li galahad 240 white. and replaced all front fans and rear fan with white lian-li unifan sl 120's. and dressed with lian-li rgb strimer cables. its absolutely beautiful. one of my favorite builds ive done so far.

I bought this because it had a mesh front and came with 3 fans. Glad the thermals were good. It was an easy build.
I finally received my wireframe mousepad and love it! I live in France so a bit of waiting but worth it :
-the mousepad is sewd and lands flat on the desk (no twist to it)
-sewing looks very neat
-grips well on the desk
-It's thinner than my razer gigantus but more ergonomic, it's good for gaming
Also i love the wireframe design, rather than the previous gn "only logo" mousepad

I've always been happy with my Cooler Master HAF 922 (last two builds). Never realized there was so much involved in some of these cases.

I have the Cooler Master H500 with the two 200MM fans in front, and 3 of their MF120 Halo ARGB fans as rear and top exhaust. I love it, but if the TD500 had been available when I built this back in Jan/Feb 2020, I would have bought it instead solely for the slightly better looks. But seriously, between the H500 and the TD500, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Nice review, guys.

13:27 Regarding Cable Management space behind the motherboard tray; "CoolerMaster lists clearance as 1.9mm" ...that is not a lot of space. Are you sure its not 1.9cm / 19mm? (1.9 mm is less than 1/10th of an inch)
This has been sold in my country and I've been recommending it for quite some time already and just like I thought, it's a really good case and great value mainly because of the ARGB fans. I can already imagine this getting more popular and sold out now that this review is out.
@makaroner Being a White-colored case is actually a feature a lot of people want and the NR400/600 doesn't provide that and there's also a black version of the TD500 mesh if you didn't know.
Your RGB comment is just a personal preference, just because it's flashy for you means it's flashy for other people. TD500 mesh providing 3 ARGB fans saves quite a decent amount of money for people who want RGB on their builds.
Though as a complete value perspective disregarding any aesthetic preference, the NR400/600 is better since it's cheaper and you can just add 1 front fan as shown in their testing to have better CPU temps than the TD500 mesh.
I was going to buy the Phanteks P400A ( I was very happy with my last Phanteks case) but two reasons why I didn't. It was out of stock or price was inflated, also it was limited on large air cooler mounting height. So thank you Steve and the gang as I bought the Be Quiet 500DX and I am super happy with it. Great clearance for my Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler. Seems to work great with 140mm x2 front (intake), 140mm top (exhaust) and 120mm rear (Exhaust, My Gpu has a 120mm AIO which exhausts here). One thing I would like to see with the case reviews is if you would mention the air cooler max height with each case. Thanks again, love the videos.

This case does seriously look like Cooler Master at least tried to cater to actual performance, while also having enough RGB bling/aesthetics. I wish all cases could go in this direction.

I couldn't buy this simply because Cooler Master's logo is so ugly.
I agree, if I end up getting this case, I will spray plasti-dip on the logo, either with an accent colour, or same color to just hide it completely. Their logo is a lot cleaner without the name on it like they are branding cattle.

Got one sitting on the desk in front of me, 1 week old build - Looks nice, got it for good value, runs very cool, lots of aRGB vomit.

I have a K500, which seems to be from the same chassis family. My USB front header has popped out a few times in the past. One port is also temperamental. I wish I had more cable management room on the side - it's an issue.
One big point that this gets right: buttons are not on top. My cat turned of my old computer when she got on the case multiple times because the HAF 922 had buttons on top. Seriously, case makers should hear things like that. I kept a guitar interface over the button for years. Also, the shroud along the bottom is cool for hiding cabling. Don't get a fancy looking PSU for it - you won't be able to see it, but it helps keep the system looking neat.
That thing in black would certainly be among the top contenders for me.

And talking about TD500, I built one machine for a friend in the previous H500P Mesh ARGB, they liked it and the temps and noise were very good. Mesh cases seem to be actually better than "noise dampening" cases with horrible airflow. I need to upgrade at least one of my own machines to mesh case, as Folding@Home at summer is quite noisy...

I have both this case and h500 and they're both great. just a few degrees difference on cpu/gpu tortures are as you said, margin of error territory. I love the huge 20cm fans on h500 and slick design of td500

I think it was GN that once suggested to drop Fractal a line directly at their website comment page, regarding case design ideas (maybe it was Jay ... hmmm).
So I did.
I detailed an idea for a better designed meshify style with ++ airflow, options for bigger so called E-ATX boards, proper room for properly mounted front AIO rad or 3x140 fans, custom loupes or large NH15's, scrap the foam dust filter and that weird front filter frame assembly, better cable routes, better multi SSD and HDD option spaces and other minor 'stuff they get wrong' fixes,
including having; 1) enough fans or 2) enough RGB fans or 3) no fans at all - purchase options.
aand explained how it could be done with a minimum of manufacture assembly line build variables and use mostly 'out of the fractal parts bin' approach.
Offered to coordinate to help ... for free (or maybe for 1 case).
I heard nothing. Crickets. I shouldn't be surprised (sigh)
I'd really love if all cases came easily available with a barebones "no fans included" option. Even if it only saves a few bucks, I'm set for fans already thanks.
If they need to add "additional value" that's reflected in the price (i.e. increased) I'd happily pay the extra to get rid of the cheap looking plastic front panels, when the rest of the build is all metal and glass. Filters, grommets etc. notwithstanding.
This case's front panel is mismatched in colour to the rest of the panels for example. It looks cheap in a 'nasty' sense.
I'm curious how many boxes the Define XL ticks off on your wishlist. Maybe a variation on that design would be better than retooling the Meshify line.
@@nimrodery - thought of that. The thing is the Define is a significantly taller box, so a new meshify screen would need designing and manufacturing. Another unticked box on my list is regarding cable routes in the back ... the define has next to none, meshify C has a huge channel, so a marriage of these ideas is needed. There might be something to the basic idea though.

I've been running the TD500 for 2 years, intel z390 9700k with a noctua NH-U12S cpu cooler, and a 120mm exhaust fan behind it, a RTX 3060 and it does in fact stay around 50°C.

If you’re planning on getting this case, DO IT i just got mine about 3 days ago. It’s nice that you can fit a 360mm radiator in the front and and on the top, i replaced all my fans with noctua fans and my 8700K only gets to 22c with a DeepCool Castle 360ex, airflow with this case goes very good. The inly cons i would say is cable management can be a little complicated due to so cramped in the back

I have put together a gaming PC (R5 3600; 16 GB HyperX RGB RAM; GTX 1650 Super which was the only available GPU I could find) for a 13 year-old with this case. And I must say it was a pleasure working with this case.
I liked it a lot, and I would buy one for myself. (If only the white one did not cost more than the black one!)
I'm glad to hear this case did well! I have one (in black) sitting next to me that I just bought to build a B550 system in. This will be my first build since 2011, so time to shake off some rust ;-)
I think the grey top filter is a good choice by CM.
1. It matches the grey-white theme.
2. Dust will be less visible. If it was white, it will appear dirty 1 day after you cleaned it.
I bought the Corsair 680X RGB Case and took out the 120mm fan in back and put a 140mm RGB Fan in its place. 2 140mm RGB Fan's on bottom. Cool and Silent!
Tempered Glass is nice looking and luxurious but I would definitely trade a fancy shaped piece of glass for some acrylic panels in the same shape if it meant getting some more user friendly features added to the case.

I can certainly attest to Cooler Master's obsession with the number 500; my PC is built with the MC500P case, which could've simply been named some variation of "MasterCase 5" since that's what it really is!
Snagged this case before anyone even started doing reviews for it the week it hit the stores. No regrets.
