Placed my order for an Ultra Red with White/Black interior today; this will be my third M3P, having had my first in 2019, then 2021 and now 2024. There just seems to be no going back once you have your first Tesla 🙂
You clearly haven’t owned a good luxury car then. Because there is nothing luxury about a Tesla. I was in one the other day and whilst fast that’s all they have really. Everything is budget
@@dan.roberts its good that there are luxury alternatives. Well beyond my budget though. Even the taycans which everyone talks about the depreciation, is still too expensive for me in the used market. What would you be considering?
If somebody wanted to take a BMW M3 and improve it in performance, efficiency, infotainment while making it more reliable and lower cost to own. It would become the 2024 Tesla model 3 Performance
It's hilarious how so many people compare their tesla to cars they can't afford. U never see a bmw m3 owner comparing his car or in the comments to a tesla model 3 😂 Cars front looks like some weird chinese fish design. Then it does the typical blog egg design all the way to the rear. The front is sleek then the rest of the car is a blob. Its like two different people made the car. Still has no actual luxury interior and with a dull plain jane cockpit that doesn't even have a gauge cluster screen or a HUD. Model 3 is for people that cant afford a real sports car so they have to get an EV. 😂 it has one thing going for it. That's it. Thing looks like basic traffic
@G82Watts i replaced my Audi RS6 Performance with a Tesla model S Plaid and still have a Z06 for trackdays and weekend fun. M3 is easily attainable for me financially, but has become irrelevant for car enthusiasts. Still relevant for BMW brand enthusiasts. Recommend you check in with Jay Leno and review of Plaid that is his daily and Jason Cammisa review of the new model 3 Performance. Jays garage is pretty extensive and his financial ability pretty strong. Jason less so, but he gets to drive everything as an automotive journalist and petrolhead. @G82Watts i live in Europe and don't do street racing. I did amateur track series in the past. My son grew up with gokarts, won the formula Gulf championship and got to F3... So we are more into trackracing. My RS6 Performance was a 2016 model and I replaced it in December 2022 with a Plaid. Only miss the sound of starting the V8 in the morning. Plaid is superior in everyday use and with trackpack also better on nurburgring where I go on occasion. Street racers can enjoy their cars and culture and thats all cool. The other mega bonus of owning a Tesla is the sentry mode. Whilst away in Nottingham at the weekend my M3 RWD only 2 months old was parked in a car park on the end of a row. A Range Rover Evoque had decided to park next to me not in the car park spaces. As they left due to the limited space they had created, they tried to take my front bumper with them. I was upset to see a large hole in my bumper anfd that it had been pulled away and snapped some mounting. Reviewing the sentry mode, I was able to identify the car and registration mark to give to the police. They could be seen hitting my car then reversing to get clear before driving off, whilst my alarm was active. Great points about your Tesla and I am loving mine, the performance model would be nice but not for me.
The best Model 3 Performance review I’ve seen so far. And I saw them ALL (from US to Malaysia) You totally nailed it! Crystal clear, congrats! Since one week I own the exact same car (also white with black interior) and I couldn’t agree more with your consideration. The only thing I expected something more is the brake feeling, that I find a little too “spongy”. Ciao from Italy
I would definitely go for ultra red with white interior. At last a proper red. The previous red had a tendency to look really drab in UK lighting conditions.
I was looking at getting a 22 plate long range and was staggered to see how expensive insurance was £890 fully comp in comparison to £550 for an Ionic 5 Ultimate!
Before you track it, make sure to go into the service menu and select the “burnish brakes” setting. It will turn off regen, get you to speed and tell you to hit the brakes. Do it ten times and you are good.
I’m about to make my first step into EV moving from a 3 Series Pro Edition. Torn between the LR and Performamce. I’m not too interested in the performance being quicker, the LR is quick enough, it’s the looks of the 3P I really like and it’s more an a par with my current car. Longest journey I do is 210 return every now and then to the in laws, I mostly do city driving. Would it be safe to say range won’t be a problem for me in the 3P?
One feature not often reported on (in my 2024 M3 LR as an example) is the traffic light recognition where the car alerts you to the lights having changed to green. Brilliant feature as we all have been distracted at some stage at traffic lights with the person behind hitting their horn to alert you. This along with the one pedal driving are my two favourite features - with many others closely following. ;-) BTW, my LR is also white for the same reasons you state. As yet I haven't had ANY stone chips after 3500 kilometres but should be fairly easy to touch up when they inevitably happen. Love the red, but at +AUD$2600 - no thanks! and harder to maintain.
I switched my order for a white M3SR to a black one based on how good your black car looked and very happy with it, looks great in black with black interior plus there's loads of white Teslas driving around. Looks fantastic clean but as you say it takes a bit more effort to keep it clean just because it quickly looks dirty.
Yes, definitely a number of positive improvements on the M3P Highland. As for the lack of stalks, apparently, Tesla will supply a set you can retrofit for $400.
Love the ability to charge from excess solar. If (like me) you don't have a Tesla solar system/battery, there's an app (Charge HQ) that supports this type of functionality on a range of non-Tesla solar systems and/or EV chargers.
In white the front bumper would soon be whatever colour is under the paint if you are a B road blaster I live in Wales and dark colours (other than black) are more forgiving. Love the mp3 though. Definitely next after my dual motor highland (which is superb but soggy at triple figures).
Will an rs4 lose £35+k in 3 years though, got to factor that in if you're comparing. I still love my 2020 M3P, I'll get one of these when they've halved in value.
They were invited to the release press day where they were given a car to review for the entire day after a press briefing but they never released a video!🤔
I have had my m3 long range for 4 years and 100thousand miles,I am coming up to change it and I like it very much, BUT I am getting increasingly annoyed fwith Tesla changing things for the worse, no stalks ??? Charging for all. And recently they have messed about with the indicator operation so that it is really annoying coming off a roundabout and the wipers are still pants, I am having second thoughts I fear they have lost their lead.
Makes me proper 'lol' when I hear you or Bjorn mention adding stalks or in his case 's3xy buttons' to get the car to do something it should come with to start with and the more important part is it's a £60k car. There shouldn't be a need to add stalks ffs or s3xy buttons to get something. Unfortunately for me the cost is beyond me. Enjoy it, I can tell you already do 😄👍🏻 I still want one.
