Rest in peace brother ......thanks for all the great insight over the years..... thanks for your service....RIP
wait what? he died in service or something?
Passed with ALS September 2022. You can notice slight elements of his early onset speech degradation in this video.
Great point on living in a world where definitions matter less and less each day!
In a world where millions of people don't know what the fuck THEY are, it's nice to see somebody enforcing definitions. Thank you James
Damn skippy
Last part’s the best part. Thanks.
I regret never coming down to train with you, but your videos are still some of the best out there and I still use them today. Rest in Peace
The main reason I train and practice marksmanship with my Springfield M1A. I get laughed at all the time, but can tote my M1A like everyone else carries their AR15 rifles. Everytime I hand my M1A to anyone they say "that's heavy!". Not to me! I've been carrying it since 1996! On a side note. Have they come any closer to fixing your medical issues or relieving your symptoms? Hope you get well soon!
Great gun. You mentioned training. Who's class(es) have you taken?
I pick up my M1A on Thursday! I ordered it 5 months ago. My dad and I are so excited! He used an M14 in the ARMY in 1964!
@@donaldduck4867 Good gun with plenty of power and range.
it’s beyond me that some people would be offended by these terms.
I find it good to know what you're weapon is. Gives you an idea of what it is meant to do. Knowing the tool you have tells you the job it is for.
"Some of you guys were dicks". That has to be the understatement of the year.
It's amazing to see how we're all suppose to be on the same team, yet how many people from the 2A community treat others like shit.
@@toddk1377 there’s a difference between 2A community and 2A culture; I do NOT count myself as part of the “community” as its full of asshats, fudds and toxic avengers, part of 2A culture, yes. Confusing the two is one of the biggest challenges we face as a culture.
@@johnandrewserranogarcia7223 yes there are; too many enticing a response so they can play their victim card, way, way too wrapped up in a digital world that they feel validates their basement existence.
@Sigkim
I have and that's why I left retail years and years ago. I'll work factory or solo before dealing with the general public again.
@@joshreynolds72
Maybe, but if there was to be this "civil war" everyone keeps talking about, it couldn't happen or wouldn't work, too many gun guys will be arguing over stupid shit and so forth. There are some good folks out there, I've met some of them, the advantage people like that have, is that I'll be there to talk, shoot, help, ect. The others, well they'll get to know what F*ck you is in sign language.
Hello JY, I think you and I are about the same age. We grew up when definitions, honesty, and best behavior were valued. You make a good point about holding the line with correct definitions. I'll throw in the other two items I listed above. These always are three concepts to be aspired to.
Thanks for making this! Now I have a video to refer people to when they argue with me.
Definitions Matter. Words Matter. Actions Matter.
PCC, fighting rifle and bolt action 30/06. I'll have to work on the battle rifle
I'm very happy wielding my Uberti Winchester 1873 lever action. It's an old design, but reliable, quick, and accurate. The speed record is 10 rounds fired on target in 1.57 seconds. It was definitely the assault rifle of the 19th century.
@@johnandrewserranogarcia7223 I wish it were my record. It was Michael Wilcox that made that record. You can find his video here on UA-cam, just search under his name and Winchester 1873. I thought I was quick, but he makes me look slow. 😁
Thanks for the clarification.
Seriously digging the background!
I want to get an AR style rifle, looking at the Springfield Armory Saint Victor .308
Keep looking
I remember when the m14 was brought back out and modernized, I think the m14 and battle rifle concept in general deserved it after being pushed aside in favor of the m16.
Agreed. Thanks James.
There is no requirement for a SAW / LSW to be intermediate caliber, it can be intermediate or full power.
For example, some would consider the Bren to be a SAW / LSW. It used the same .303 cartridge the infantry rifles (Lee Enfield Mk III's and IV's, mostly) were chambered in, was fully automatic and generally ticks all the boxes. .303 is a full power cartridge.
A SAW / LSW is any fully automatic support weapon platform that is chambered in the same cartridges as the main infantry service rifles. The reason you only really see intermediate cartridge examples in modern SAW / LSW's is because.. well, pretty much all service rifles these days are intermediate power.
"some of you guys were dicks, so fuck off" and that is why I'm watching your vids. Thank you Mr Yeager every continued success to you and yours.
I like your closing message.
Great points.. sorry the search bar is hard to find...
Its on the front page of EVERY UA-cam channel.
Good info, James. My battle rifle is a POF P308 7.62x51 AR10
Love my S&W m&p 10. In 308. Not the best. But works for me
YES, thank you. Words matter. Use them correctly.
Nice to see you creeping back up to 100k subscribers, man. Tons of people would have given up after being deleted. I always respect a fighter.
I appreciate that!
Thank you for helping with the definitions that answers all my question
Appreciate the knowledge Brokski
Was definitely subscibed to you some time ago and come back to make sure you were still around and youtube boot me from your channel. No wonder I havent gotten anything from you in a while.
I am also praying for you and hope you're doing alright and are healthy brother!
What if my Battle rifle identifies as something else? I don’t want to hurt it’s feeling by labeling it. LOL
GREAT WORK JAMES!! Thank you for all the great knowledge over the years! 🙏🏼
Damn you! I was just about to say my Assault Rifle identifies as a Battle Rifle and its pronouns are commie killer and pew pew.
Don't be afraid to hurt its feelings. Actually, kick its ass till it knows what it is.
Cleared alot in my head. well done thanks.
This is a great rifle. In my squad, it would be more of a squad support weapon. I'd for sure want one of these if I was manning a checkpoint or conducting an ambush.
Hmm, I feel like I had to be ready for something or other, but I can't quite remember what it was. Unfortunately, no one reminded me.
Flight. Be ready for the flight. Ticket, passport, earplugs, all that.
Always makes me smarter when I watch your videos
Thanks man.
Praying for you brother, i feel your struggle. You did not close with “your responsibility to be ready for the fight?” Whether you want it or not, people look to for more than just gun stuff. Leadership, and Patriotism have been thrust upon you because of your personal integrity. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Your knowledge is much respected Sir. Thank you for these videos.
I like these types of video's breaking down the terms. Thanks James.
If it's possible, another idea for a quick vid, maybe explain what role each platform fills and why pick one over the other, either from military or civillian or both, point of view. Maybe even through in a few cons and pro's for each. Just a suggestion. Hope everything gets better, I just messed up my knee at work the other day, all swollen and can barely walk, so now I feel like a liability, it sucks.
These are guns, not platforms.
Facts!
Exactly correct great video🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have learned alot from your videos thank you so much.
Happy to hear that!
Thanks James. You cleared it up for me. Even if it was because I wasn't paying attention in your first video...
Thank you James, great content as always.
Im sorry but does a .243 AR-10 count as a battle rifle or fighting rifle? .243 has more velocity than a .308 but less knockdown power. It also has a heavy barrel.
It is not on the list.
Thank you james for the video i appreciate it .. Have a good day brother
What would you classify a 6.5 grendel and 6.8 spc?
Glad i picked up an India police smle ishappore in 762x51 for $250 at a gun show few years back.
Words have meaning... Stupid people just dont' know that.
Good explanation . . . as always!
I shall call semi-auto rifles fighting rifles from now on, or maybe civilian rifle.
makes sense
Gee,I don’t know, any thing you can get your hands on ?
So 300blk...would you consider that a battle rifle cartridge?
Intermediate
👍I thought we all new this stuff, until the other day when I said something about my b.r. at the range the other day and got confused looks from everyone.
What's difference between battle rifle and marksman rifle
I call mine response rifles, as I do not plan on assaulting anyone. Not that I wouldn't, I just don't plan on it. Great video James!
So where does the 6.5 Grendel fit in?
This video is about combat rifles.
@@TacticalResponseCrew I thought a 6.5 grendel on a AR lower would be considered a combat rifle
Thanks, James.
Didn’t read the comments from the previous video, but wondering who got but hurt. The assault rifle guys with cartridge envy or the pcc ladies who identify as assault rifles.!???
Damn right well said good sir
Well said
I like showing up at the range with my FN-FAL and hear the poodle shooter's say....fuk......LOL
Good video James.
Now instead of the truth I hear idiots talking like oh that’s YOUR truth or my truth.
Good video, always appreciate
What's the optimal barrel length for a battle rifle. I've been seeing that 20-24 is best for optimal terminal ballistics of 308. But that's alot of steel.
Love you Jen-ny, your my girl. Can't help it every time you say au-to or semi au-to it reminds me of that damn movie. 😂. However thank you for the break down. Awesome video!
I am dealing with a "tongue issue" and over annunciate so it doesn't sound slurred. So I either get called a retard or am accused of being a drunk.
@@TacticalResponseCrew neither sir, came to mind and commented to be jovial only. My appologies if I struck a nerve, sincerely, I meant no harm.
In regards to my oppinion on how you presented your wording, it is my hope that you, The Lion does not concern himself with the thoughts of the sheep.
Sincerly,
A humbled moron
I have asked this question before, but i think it was shadow banned. Is there a criteria that a battle rifle must fall under? As in does it have to be effective from 0-50 yds as well as 50-500yd. Or is the long range good enough to consider it a Battle rifle?
I explained it in this video.
Would you consider owning an Ar10 in 6,5 creedmore? Do you consider a rifle in 6,5 creedmore a battle rile?
6.5 is great for shooting paper.
@@TacticalResponseCrew 6.5 creedmoor is great for game in the plains of Africa. So, If it’s capable of that, then I’m sure it’s plenty capable for whatever means Bryan intends to use it for. I like 308 more, but that’s just my personal preference.
Amen!
So how would you classify something like a 50 beowulf?
Not a fighting caliber.
@@TacticalResponseCrew Why do they use them at vehicle checkpoints?
Mic drop at the end.
Agree 100%
Excellent video. Quick and to the point, while still having plenty of times to tell the dicks to fuck off! Fucking classic
0:18 lol
So does a sniper rifle like the M24 fit into the battle rifle category? Or is "sniper rifle" its own class?
In the current military classification its in its own class.
Howdy y'all 🖖
When it comes to 5,7 is it a pcc or rcp?
It fires a pistol cartridge.
I don’t even own a rifle chambered in anything less than a 308. I wonder if my 336 35rem is a battle rifle 🧐
Then you're missing out on a world of useful and versatile rifle cartridges.
words mean things
My ar-15 identifies as a SAW. Does that make it a SAW?
According to Leftist logic, then yes.
Sadly, that is how Cali politicians think...They say that the AR15 is full auto... Or was it full semi-auto with intermediate cartridges tearing 10 inch holes in paper...I mean I heard of expanding rounds but damn...
@@gunblade7610 I’d love to see that paper with 10” tears in it. lol
Dope Video
Best part of the whole video was the last sentence...
Came here to make the same comment and you beat me to it.
Bingo!
Is 50 Beowulf a battle rifle?
No. it's and entry weapon.
What's the difference between a SAW and an assault rifle?
What is Google?
I think we need better definitions.
Thanks again, James. Every day or two you put out a great video. Today is this one. Wish I were stil able to shoot all this stuff. At least I still have my AK and AR. Wondering when China Joe's thugs will come after them.
It's a rifle you take to battle 😂,,,
Awesome information as always 👍
Wow, someone who know the difference
Definitions don't care about your feelings :-)
Truth bomb 💣
What about a 6.5 wtf ar10
I use .308 because I like to shoot THROUGH things.
@@Paelorian I’m not trolling or picking a fight here, but I don’t think that 6mm grendal and 243 win are very comparable. Whereas the grendal has a marked advantage over 556 in an ar15 platform,(its intended purpose). It falls well short of the 243 down range. So far as energy is concerned I wouldn’t call the 400 ft.lbs. difference close,(rough average between the 2). That being said I love the grendal for what it is. It takes the ar15 platform to a whole new level.
@@Paelorian I get your point, kinda like the 30-06 vs 300 win in a sense
@@Matteo_ agree, love the grendal myself. Fact is it fits into the ar15 platform and 243 requires that you step up to the ar10.
@@TacticalResponseCrew can I get an Amen!
Wtf is the problem? I love how James has to make two videos on any topic. One discuss the topic and another to explain why he is right. Par for the course sure, but how anyone can try to argue against facts is strange.
AK47
Love the videos and fuck the shit talkers I’m hope I g to save to get your AR-10 from Midwest
Can you just name one gun that can function as all above?
No such thing exists.
The classifications differ in the caliber that they fire. It’s impossible to find one gun that will shoot 3 different calibers in the same chambering
@@ryanwalters694 I am thinking one lower and two uppers, 7.5 inches and 18 inches.
@@hanglu1335 well you would need two lowers. One for pistol caliber and one for intermediate and battle rifle. Whether that be 556 and 308 or whatever your caliber of choice may be
@@Matteo_ that would be a lot to keep up with and carry around in a combat setting
Sad that you have to explain the facts to people
Miss ya brother
