If you want to connect your desktop pc to your laptop and use its display as a monitor for PC, then this is the video for you.

To all those wondering how to download on cpu if they DON'T HAVE A MONITOR:
Download server on laptop and copy it to a pendrive. Then put that pendrive in cpu and turn on narrator. Narrator will read what file you are selecting at the moment.connect your earphones to hear what narrator reads out. Use keyboard to select stuff and not mouse.
but how exactly am i going to turn on narrator in my monitorless pc?
Just press windows key and type narrator. Hit enter
No. This needs to be done before you connect to laptop. Narrator is just for installing spacedesk software on pc.

For those wondering how to install the server software on the primary machine... just plug you PC to a TV screen over HDMI it's much better than using narrator ! hope it helped and thank's for the tutorial btw !

Thank you very much! Completed the process last night and it works flawlessly! I have an old PC which runs on Win7 64 bit and the laptop runs on Win 8. For the PC, I downloaded the Win 8.1 software and it is compatible with Win 7, however, the website warns you to use it at your own risk. Very grateful to you for uploading this video.

This doesn't work with VGA or HDMI. Hdmi on your laptops are hdmi output and cannot be used to act as input to the laptop screen.

Use narrator on the cpu. Press windows key and type narrator, hit enter. It will read everything that is displayed through the cpu.
Best way to avoid much hassle is to download server on laptop and then copy to a pendrive and using narrator install on cpu

Turn on the cpu. Wait for some time and type your password. Then try narrator. It's a guessing game. Basically, you need to be sure of how long each operation takes on your system without even looking at the screen. No other way. I had to guess and install too

Man you did an amazing job. It is so helpful. My question is about the much heavier games like call of duty ww2, battlefield V. Would this method help me to play these games without issues or is this method only for light games
This will work as long as your cpu can play those games. Say you cpu gives 65fps for cod ww2, it will be capped to 30fps on laptop. It's not because of the limitations of laptop, but due to the refresh rate limit to ethernet cable.

No bro. Your laptop has only HDMI output unlike commercial monitors which have hdmi Inputs. It would be lovely to use that but unfortunately it's not possible.
This is gold, particularly when we are short of desk space for an extra monitor.

2). no you use config of your cpu
Downside is. U need Beefy CPU, More Rams, A GPU, and a lan card for connection if you want to run AAA Graphics games...
But if your using it only for Office, Watching Video, Monitoring Social Network, Server(dbms types) this is Good to use.
also if your buying a lan wire, I suggest using cat 6 or 7 since they are more built for large bandwidth exchange.

Umm, i never really faced such an issue. Try updating your GPU drivers and check once.

Yeah I don't think it would work on new PC since you have to install it on the PC as well. But once you start it up then you should be good to go.
Setup try using TV as monitor. Then follow the method...also if you want no lag, try using another video that tells about couch gaming
