Never realized how important the last scene was in re: to how Matt refers to “Sylvie” when telling Severide how her and the Chaplain just got engaged and in the last exchange when she calls him “Matt.” The first and last names are used so interchangeably on the show that sometimes you forget which is which. But I think the fact that first names are always used when speaking about something personal is interesting. And in this case, Matt says Sylvie instead of Brett to Severide. It was a subtle choice but I think quite a significant one.
That is some keen observation, I also love it when they refer to each other in their first names 🥰 makes it feel much more intimate and deep.
I always notice when they call each other by first names, like huh that was unusual 😄

@@Gcontreras3924 yeah it was the episode where Boden and Donna were inviting Casey to dinner at the Palms because they had won it in an auction. And Boden wasn’t allowed to bring Hermann or Mouch so he invited Casey and a date. Casey was thinking of inviting Brett and when he was trying to ask her out, Hermann and Ritter interrupted them when Hermann encouraged Ritter to insult Brett lol. Casey chickened out afterwards 😂

Brett brings out a different side of Casey, they belong together. it's so beautiful we are literally witnessing Casey fall in love with her before our eyes but he doesn't want to rush it because of everything Brett is going through. ughhh I love them together

Well we should feel better now, because he kinda misunderstood the question and the conversation they had later 🤦 In that moment, all he could say was, "I don't know," but afterwards with Severide, I think he realises that he's moved on from Dawson, and Sylvie is the only one he wants 😄

you can see the anger and disappointment in Casey’s eyes when the chaplain asked Brett to marry him, it broke my heart, I swear if they don’t get together in the next season i’m gonna go cry
Take note of Casey's body language when he's congratulating Brett after the proposal, when he said I'm happy for you all the while he was shaking his head side to side that's what you subconsciously do when you say No, of course you nod your head if your saying yes. So Casey's body language actions do not match his words. That was the first thing I noticed when he was talking to Brett.

Okay, i'm just going to get this off my chest. I know it's been a minute but I am STILL bitter over how Casey and Dawsey ended. I get that she had to be written off the show somehow but do we really think that Gabby would leave the love of her to do relief work??? It's a noble cause but i mean come on!! These two went through SO MUCH just to be together. I really don't like how they made her out to be the bad guy in the end as she was making a lot of selfish decisions. At least Shay had a good memory after being written off - unlike Gabby who is now the woman who broke Matts heart.
ANYWAY. At this point I don't mind Brett & Casey they are cute and have good chemistry but I don't think their love story has the staying power that Dawsey did. Matt & Gabby's romance was so satisfying because it had such a great build to it. All these random ships outta nowhere don't do it for me lol. But hey, Gabby's not coming back so if it has to be Brett - i'll take it. Luv her lol 🙃
@Lizzie Allen Yeah I feel like her character changed a lot after she lost the baby ... both of them actually. The two of them are total opposites Matt's easy going and level headed while Gabby was fiesty and impulsive. Without mutual respect and communication the two of them were bound to grow apart. I do think she truly loved him tho. Anyways I am no longer investing my emotions to any of the couples on this show lol. It's too much 😂
I agree with every single word you wrote; I wouldn't ever imagined to like Brett and Casey so much, they do have a ton of chemistry. Even if dawsey is and will be the main ship of the show, I do believe that if it's written in a good way they could have a lot of potential.

@@kaylascham3137 The problem is with it happening at the end of the season is they could have a time jump from the end of last season taking place back in May and them picking up this season in September. So all that we know they could get married off screen during the summer.

Casey and Gabby are canon. They were the show and were part of why it was so great. At the end, tv shows seem to come full circle so why not have them reunite?

I hope they get together, i think they are right for each other.
I loved Gabby and Matt, i really did, i was cheering for them as most of the fans were. And they were good together, and they worked, but i feel like that has come to an end. I don't think they would work together anymore. They have both changed anf ultimately i don't think they want the same things anymore. Plus Gabby made some pretty important decisions by herself, decisions that include Matt, and that was something she shouldn't have done. After the last episode, i feel like they finally had closure, and i think they are finally going to go their own ways and find happiness.
