Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Beginner's Any% Route Tutorial

- This is my Echoes Any% Beginner's Route tutorial. In this tutorial, I explain how to do the most beginner friendly route. I give alternatives for wallcrawls you don't want to do, and my demonstration run at the end only does 2 wallcrawls.
I apologize for my camera stopping sometimes and not always focusing on my controller. I recently started trying this so this is new for me.
This took a while to make, but I hope this is helpful and informative to someone who's just interested in running the game and wants an easy route to run. The fastest route, which is, possibly like 10 minutes faster, is a lot harder to get into and is way more punishing. I attempt to make it easier by doing this route.
I do not suggest using this route for long; I do think you should add more wallcrawls as you get better. I just think you should not skip Grapple Beam for a while, because Grand Abyss is stupid.
I do not show Sandigger, Quad Skip or Cannon Ball in the demonstration run. If you want to learn about them, go to these timestamps. Bare in mind, these aren't done too well and I will cover them better when I inevitably do an Advanced Route tutorial.

You will also need a USB Loader if you plan to play on a Wii. You can google how to Homebrew your Wii very easily. But for a USB/SD loader, I recommend Nintendont. Bare in mind, loads an innaccurate and you can't run on this:

Hey. I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for making this tutorial I was able to get a 2:13 by doing all of the easy to moderately hard tricks.
I never thought I would ever be able to do even a fraction of the tricks in this video, but the way you explained everything was nice and clear.
My favorite part of your tutorial is how you tell us to take our time and it's ok to screw things up because it's reassuring and makes me want to keep practicing.
The time I got might not be all that great for an Any% run, but I am beyond proud of it as I would casually get like 7+ hours in this game lol.
Sorry for the long text, but I just really wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the hard work that went into making this and how important this video is to speed running this game.

First of all, Thank you for uploading tutorial. I'm sorry, I am Japanese and I couldn't catch what you said. So anyway, I am trying to copy your movement and reading Website.Currently, I am practicing Item Loss Skip. But I can't do Wallcrawl well. In Hive Chamber A, after I fell in bottom of Secret World（invisible box? or Aether?）, I attempted to do Wallcrawl（Aether Jump）. I tried to jump but falling in the middle. What should I be careful about doing Wallcrawl, Aether Jump. I am playing Japanese GameCube Rom in Wii console. I'm sorry that my English is not very good.

A bit of a dumb question but at 1:27:25 when you say to hold down left to get OOB. Do you mean hold "down left" or hold down "left"? I hope this question makes sense cause i'm not sure what exact direction to hold when doing this OOB trick. Thank you in advance.
First of all, thank you very much for such a great guide. I have a question. I'm having troubles with the quadraxis wallcrawl, i'm trying to copy your steps, literally but everytime i try to aproach to land to the door to make the transition to the giant room with quadraxis on it i fall. The same happened to me every time i tried to warp to the room for fighting quadraxisand it also happened that to everytime i tried to do the gyro skip wallcrawl. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the fact that i'm playing on a wii using nintendont.
First of all, yes, Nintendont will affect your load speeds (rooms will load faster) so some of these wallcrawls will either be a lot harder or just impossible (I don't think you can do Gyro Skip, for instance, with faster loads). This is likely what's happening to you, as when you approach the door for Quadraxis' room, it should not be loaded until about 3 seconds after you land on it. In the case of Quad's room, I suggest staying back a bit and aether jumping to the door instead.
Additionally, if you fall down to the bottom of Quad's room and wish to fight him anyway, just continue walking forward from the bottom of the room and you'll trigger the fight if you'd like to do it like that.

I feel like I am quite late to this. But when you get to the Amber translator you have two transmissions. I only have one of them that spawns. I did pick up a key rather stupidly, but I haven’t got the dark suit. I don’t know what the problem is. Is it a PAL and NTSC difference?? I am playing PAL, thanks.
A friend of mine actually ran into this recently and I had no idea this was a thing until now, but getting the Aron keys screws you or of Amber translator. I did not know this at the time of making this video though.

How did you add the screwattack at the beginning of the game?
But, if we decide to go for the Echo visor, we would also have to go for the keys that take us to Quadraxis, right? which would delay us
You can do a bsj into screw attack to skip the hive keys. Its very easy with how the room and camera is set up
Watching the demo run, I reminded that method of skipping the key, but thanks anyway
Can someone plz tell me how to mod my gamecube I've been trying to figure it out for years and it hurts that I'm not able to 😭

Gamecube dosent have many mods the best you could do is make it so it boots a region free game example let's say the gamecube can boot USA and Europe discs only region free let's you boot Japanese region games if you're trying to cheat action replay is the way to go

@@adamshameler3680 not trying to start anything here even tho he is using a gamecube controller with the way hes loading stuff I would say hes on an emulator with the gamecube controller input I'm just trying to go off of logic cause out of the many years i've tried to mod the gamecube and out of all the posts and community's I've been I have never seen this on just a gamecube
He's playing on the wii with something called Nintendont and with that he used an iso of prime 2 with the mod on it
Could you explain the inputs on the underwater space jumps in hydrodynamo station, because I can't get them to work, as in i can't get those types of jumps at all; I'm holding L while jumping and pressing b at the same time, but I just get a normal jump as far as i can tell
You need to hold L, but while holding it you need to press B and R (and continue to hold R) at the same time.
