Sound, as a soloplayer, really is my greatest asset. My first action is always to collect the surefoot perk, and also i take the perk that prevents wild animals from triggering. Happened soo often that i ran to some random place and suddenly hear crows right next to me, knowing i cant trigger them.
i love the fact that weapon xp and challenges are shared between your team, you can do your weekly challenges in between 30 minutes to 1 hour if you coordinate
I've got 1200 hours in a little over a year. Can I speak to how it was before? No, but compared to the other games on the market, I don't see the reason for the hate. It's a great game at half the asking price of new games that aren't even finished. Good video for a good game!
tl;dr hunt is still in beta hunt is in fact - theoretically - a great game, BUT kill trade window is long, almost neglecting any skill differences - which simply means no matter how good you are, if your opponent shoots you a second after you kill him - he still kills you aswell, maps are bugged, textures are bugged, fps drops are nothing out of the ordinary. The game rewards you for passive playing - basically sitting and not moving is a powerplay and it sucks. Also there are a lot of ping abusers, because hunt responsiveness is highly on the side of your game client and not the server, so when a chinesee man peeks you - you see him and 10ms later you are dead.
The trading thing is annoying. I usually play duo or trio, so it’s not as bad as playing solo and trading. As far as the ping abusing goes, I max out at 4 stars so I just assume everyone is better than me. Especially because I play in almost entirely 5-6 star lobbies with my friend. But I’ve had a few that were really noticeable. This is similar to the finals as well. I still enjoy both games. I think this is a part of non region locked games, and hopefully devs find a way to address it. If someone wants to cheat or ping abuse, I can’t do anything about it but feel sorry for them. I’m definitely not going to let their sad existence keep me from queuing up for the next game tho
@@threshious crytek devs are good at shitting out new skins and releasing the same event under new name over and over again, the problems ive recalled higher are only the tip of hunts problems iceberg. But honestly, hunt's team is low in numbers so all of the above are understandable, it simply hurts that the game design is polluted by its spaghetti code and poor management system that leads to bad decision making.
trades happen a lot less now. like A LOT. maps bugged and textures bugged I dont know what you are talking about or its too minor to take in consideration for a guy not looking to find negatives. passive playing? false. every player that is "good" at this game, NEVER stay still &/or camp, NEVER, you can look it yourself in content creator youtube channels. you have plenty of tools to know if a player is nearby, and then play accoringly. it takes 0.1 second to strafe in and out of a corner/wall/door to trigger a camper potential shot, and then they are exposed af. camping is something I literally never see. the only time I see someone crawling slowly trough the map and standing still are 1-3 stars that are too afraid to play. ping abusers never seen them in my server.
I think first and foremost, this game is hard. A lot of people don’t like that so they complain about things that are out of their control to mask their skill. Things like “ping abuse” that’s not a thing. Crytec doesn’t use Peer to Peer matchmaking. That has been dead in online shooters since 2011. This game also shouldn’t be looked at under the same scope you would look at CoD or Apex. It’s not supposed to be a fast paced, twitch shooter with crazy movement. Each action is supposed to be deliberate.
One of my favourite shooters of all time, especially with friends. I'm nearly at 1000 hours after 4-5 years playing, always been in rotation. New map and guns are exceptional. My only gripes are performance, the UI, and the kill trade window is seemingly getting worse
Funny, aside from a few exceptions, my trad window has been fine. The only trades I've gotten are ones that make sense based on bullet travel time, etc

@@DoctorWhoBlue it’s absolutely gotten worse and I’m not a guy who bitches, moans and nitpicks every flaw. There’s a great video explaining exactly why too. Essentially they wanted to avoid the appearance of ghost bullets so if another player’s game registers you getting hit within 800ms then it will register on the client and can result in you dying long after you have killed the other player. I would rather have the appearance of ghost bullets and a hard reduction on that 800ms window.
14:20 you don’t have to unlock the special ammo, just the variants. Edit: and right after that you talk about shared weapon XP but that was also removed not too long ago (sometime before the new map) you share xp from what you kill (hunters, AI and bosses) but sadly if you are both using a sparks and one of you finish the boss with it, only that person will get weapon progression towards the sparks while the team mates will receive XP normally to hunter.

Only issue i have with hunt is the skill based match making. I had a few decent games in a row, and now im in full MMR lobbies and its not going back down, despite all the losing im doing.
A few good games and for six star?! Dang, great job! I’ve tried played for KDA, I’ve tried playing for objectives. I’ve killed many 5-6 stars playing in high level lobbies with Joshmad… and my MMR hasn’t budged since the update. Hard stuck 3 star. Skill issue I guess lol
@@threshious to be fair my buddy went to 4 star pretty quickly and onto 5 playing with me while I'm hard stuck. It's your lifetime KD that seems to make the biggest difference.
@threshious trust me buddy, I dont belong here one bit. I had a few lucky games, and now it feels like I'm getting paired with the best players in hunt ever since the new map came out. I'm a 3-4 star player at best
I love me some Hunt, got about 500 hours in it, and its WAY better than CoD, but I have heard a fair share of toxic people in voice chat in Hunt as well, spouting off racial slurs and exhibiting the same kind of behavior as the CoD player from your intro there. I will admit that its not NEARLY as often or as prevalent though. Also, absolutely love the "IQ higher than your age line" might steal that one ;p
You do get some occasional toxic players and TKers. The good thing about Hunt is that the audio meta dissuades people from talking so it's far less common. You open your mouth too much, someone will put a shotgun round through the wood wall into it in this game 👌
I have a little over 1k hours into hunt. Balance wise, its in one of if not the worst spot the game has ever been in. Burn speed, hit registration, trade windows, and overtuned weapons/equipment are all really sucking the fun out of the game rn. Imo it would probably be best for new players to wait for some balancing patches before diving in.
Dude I don’t disagree with your critiques but the logic of new players waiting for balance patches makes NO sense. New players are the most likely to adapt to the current meta and accept it and be fine with it. Where they’re jumping in right now would be their baseline and then better balancing would be an improvement from their perspective. They aren’t going to incorporate your retroactive opinion on the game as newcomers and choose to enjoy it less based on the way it used to be balanced.

This game is amazing and does not deserve the review bombs. Sure the UI is not great, but surely people don’t play a game because its UI is the best UI? I honestly don’t spend much time in the UI menus, I just load up get straight into matches as fast as I can so I can squeeze in as many matches as possible, because the gameplay isn’t is so bloody good. The game is not a full price game and the monetisation is there because the company has to make money in order to keep working, you don’t have to buy any of their dlc to play, but it’s there to help the company stay in business.
Oh yeah, all the new players who start the game in its current state will be so upset that it isn’t the way it was back when they weren’t playing it. I DO NOT understand this logic of trying to dissuade new players from trying the game. Yes your criticisms are valid, I share them but new players are not going to be upset about balance degradation or UI downgrade when they don’t have our previous baseline to compare to. That is understandable the “extract” part isn’t based on looting like the division or tarkov. It’s more objective based, getting money from extracting with the bounty. There is some loot in the game, you could come across a nitro, which is a really expensive gun. But you can’t sell the stuff looted in the game like other games.
cringe... this game not having lots of looting is the best part. in tarkov for example you are staring at a dude's backpack while you are "searching and looting"... lmao, 5 minutes per match watching a blank screen going "searching" lmao. you have a mission in this game, to kill a monster, other players are trying to do that too, you can pick other players guns, if its better or you like it more, and extract with it. you can also find envelopes in the map that give you money, exp or trait points. but the biggest rewards is extracting with bounty, that gives you money wich you use to build your character how you like. this game is more "skill" focused, rather than "gear" focused like those other crap extraction games. having good gear and traits gives you an edge, but still, a new hunter with a 10 dollar revolver can 1 tap you. im sorry you can loot an impenetrable helmet.

Acting like a BR or Extraction shooter isn't the same thing over and over again is just cognitive dissonance. Every game is repetitive, and every multiplayer pvp aspect still holds the same variable, human decisions.
Honestly juat seeing the title of this vid made me laught. The best time to play hu t was a few years back before the 800ms trade windows, before the change to client side instead of server side, before crytech prioritised skins over game health and stability, before the poor performence issues witch caused some with really high end rich boy pc's to lower their graphics just to atill experience frame drops and graphical bugs. Honestly i k ow that when you are new to Hunt you don't really notice these things and the game seems really amazing to you. And i agree its a reaaaaly fcking awesome game but its haunted by an uncountable amount of problems and the devs sadly don't seem to fix them. There are bugs in this game that exist till the launch of the game some are funny and some are not. They should sacrifice some time to really heal the game and repair all the damages instead of pushi g out skins and batle pass events who are juat (in some way) reskins of older events. If they actually repair all this i am sure that a lot of players new and olde who left the game will come back.
I wish I could agree with this video, but Hunt is in the worst state it has been for years. Performance, server, hitreg, ping limit, and those are just the superficial issues that have little to do with the core gameplay. Also, I specifically disagree with Hunt not holding any hands. It holds plenty of hands. The hardcore aspects have been massively watered down over the past two years.
Alot of making stuff up 🤣🤣 if you think hunt is "the worst it's been in years", it's because you're extremely exaggerating how long you've played and it's SUPER obvious. Multiple ghost lobbies a day, Multiple crashes a day that kill your hunter, soul survivor not even working. How can you possibly say what we have now is worse than that?? Every game has bad eggs. Hunting no exception. There are just fewer. I’ve had more wholesome VC interactions than a lot of other games

Counterpoint: click on heads. Headshots always kill. Hit registration is the same it's always been. Weapons don't matter of you can aim.

The game shit the bed so hard on the latest update that I, a player since ALPHA, haven't played the game since.
They absolutely ruined a once great game.
