I want to say thank you all for checking out this video! 200 comment's and I start to lose bandwidth to keep up with all of them. I love this game and hopefully some of you will try it out. Now for some housekeeping... I've seen some people from OCE servers saying they have to play in Asian servers to get into games in their time zone, and that those servers have lots of cheaters. I'm sorry that is happening to you, and I hope embark can come up with a fix so you can enjoy the game. Someone pointed out that the tencent thing is going to only effect those in china, which i guess makes sense, but we'll have to see how that affects others as well. Someone pointed out that you can buy things from the store after they leave through the contestant edit menu, that is SICK! I didn't realize that. Also someone pointed out that if you just want the helmet or jacket from a bundle you can just buy single pieces (also in the contestant edit mode) Lots of "The game isn't dead" and similar comments... I know the game isn't dead, I made the video, and if you watched the whole thing you would see that I said the game is not dead and performed very well. I'm just going to assume these kinds of people are the same people that take headlines as the whole news story and believe every headline they read and feel sorry for them. A few complaints about the thumbnail being clickbait, and to that I can say a couple things: 1. Welcome to youtube 2. You guys chose the thumbnail. I uploaded 3 different ones and youtube picked the one that got the most watch time (not just the most clicks) and since the one that says "DEAD?" got way more watch time that became the thumbnail. I have seen some valid points though about the packaging of the video and will look into it!
@@Jarochito- It’s become a monthly trend to say 'The Finals is dead,' and people are actually believing it. Because of that, they don't want to try or invest in the game. These UA-camrs only care about views these days.
Unfortunately, dumb people can't comprehend that and like to jump on the bandwagon. Games aren't truly dead unless they shut down AND have no playerbase to save them (because server revivals exist)
It’s not even hitting 14k anymore, it’s getting as low as 6k. Additionally it’s likely an equal number on console, not double. Not looking good rn unfortunately
Probably its just too conpetetive. I had so much fun during open beta. You could do everything and still have a chance of winning. Now you either play meta or loose. You have to cooperate with your team and there is no room for experimentation
The Finals is so fucking good. I do not understand why it's not more popular. People bang on about loving Bad Company 2, FPS games, specifically ones with fast movement, as well as destructible environments and yet we can't seem to keep a consistent 20K people playing on Steam. I'm really hoping that Season 4 sees a rise in numbers, I'd love to be able to actually play ranked games in OCE without having to sit in a queue for 20 minutes.
@bluerie I mean understand but the game is still good might not be the best game but I would rather play the finals vs giving company 70$ for a game that probably comes out broken
Thanks! I started this video a few weeks ago, and as I was doing research I started to see a lot of similar videos popping up. But I put too much time in to stop lol. I'll check out yours!
men i LOVE THE FINALS, iv been a gaming since i was 10 and in the last 7 or 8 years there was no game that made me belive in "new good games" SINCE, the finals is truly unique, and i am loving it
@@etherealx3 facts, I put in more hours in finals than Fortnite, any COD bullshit game, and any PC game in general, the finals is always different every match
From my experience with this game, it really reminds me of Hyperscape, but if it wasn’t managed by Ubisoft refusing to accept they made a niche game. It has a healthy player base and good gameplay, but this type of game never really sees super high player counts long term from my experience with games like titanfall and hyperscape. Doesn’t mean it’s not one of my favorite games around right now though, I really like it!
The Hyperscape comparison is one I'm actually so happy you've made. I don't know how to describe it but genuinely both are games I hold dear to my heart. They're both so unique, fluid yet chaotic. The Finals is like the only game I actually feel comfortable supporting financially because the devs CARE too. The community is one I'm so happy to be a part of.
this game is still my favorite game our rn. i don’t understand calling it dead. any game with like 15k players on just 1 platform isn’t dead. people got used to the idea
As someone who quit The Finals, the game is a blast but TTK is way too long. Having to burn through a whole mag to take just one of the small guys down really breaks it for me. If it was about 20% shorter the game would feel much more pleasant to play.
I honestly LOVE The Finals. It’s my main right now. I can’t understand why it’s so hard to get people into it or why its viewership numbers are so low. It’s pure chaotic, fun, adrenaline nonsense that I just can’t get enough of. I love the sarcasm and self-aware humor it presents. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but I wish they’d lean into that a bit more while still trying to take the game’s success seriously. I don’t struggle getting into games either, but I desperately want to see a much more dense player base. This game deserves it in my view.
I played it all through beta, and for a while after it came out. It felt like really the same with my friends kind of fading away from it quicker than I was, and playing it with randoms isn't so great. Also, it may be a skill issue, but it feels to me that it takes me a few games to warm up, and while I'm getting back into it, the games crazy fast pace can feel overwhelming. It also normally takes me a few minutes to get into a lobby which isn't too bad, but just enough where I feel like I end up getting a bit less out of it than other games. In my opinion, it's one of the better games out there, and I love the way it's run, I just don't feel the urge to just boot up the finals the way I feel it for Valorant or something. Great video though I was surprised to see this wasn't bigger, because it was really well done!
Thanks for the comment, I seem to have the opposite problem of warming up. If I take a break from any competitive game, usually I do the best as soon as I get back into it, but fall off over time. I'll take a couple months away from a game, then crush it when I come back, until a month or two later and maybe I just get too confident and start doing stupid stuff.
Kinda surprising that you would rather boot up valorant than the finals, I would never touch valorant even if I was that bored, the finals in the other hand is pretty fun casually to me IMO, i guess your just used to slower paced games
The Finals has it's glaring issues, and I'm someone who's been playing every day since beta and release - but this game is a gem waiting to be seen again. Season 3 has been a horrible season due to the devs taking a long vacation (4 week summer vacation is given to workers in Sweden), but hopefully with all the negative feedback and a full dev team, they can deliver what this game deserves for Season 4. This game deserves to be something huge
I could go on and say all the things i love about this game but a small detail in the shop is one of my favorites. If you want (for example) a cool mask that you saw in a game but dont want to pay for the WHOLE budle you can just buy the ONLY THING that you wanted. I absolutely LOVE THIS!!!! I get why dont other AAA developer teams/companies do this, because if you want a cool gun skin in COD for example you HAVE TO buy the bundle for (most of the times) 20+ dollars, wich is of course more profit. This just shows that big companies just care about the money, but embark doesnt (at least they make it seem like they dont xd)
I consider playing alone as a personal hard mode and extra challenge :D playing no world tour, since I play a lone too but I play it basically daily since release and besides The Finals I don't play any other online FPS - ever.
me and my friends had many laughs and joy filled nights on this game earlier this year, but then kinda just forgot it existed. i've been thinking of gong back and this video reminded me of that. it definitely deserves more attention.
Btw the store isn't actually fomo. All the skins released in the store disappear when a new season starts. But I'd you go in the customization menu you will see all of the skins that have been released up until the moment you logged on. Sometimes it's also sweet cuz they lower the price
It's aesthetically very similiar to apex. So on face value people would've thought "why play this instead of apex?" That and the fact that they didn't market this game enough too.
The aesthetic, destruction, and physics make The Finals so much more fun and dynamic than Apex. I tried Apex with friends and could barely get through 2 or 3 games. It was a snooze fest. I don't understand the appeal
And Apex is bleeding players right, left and centre just now. What are they playing? It isnt The Finals and you’d think it would be the obvious choice. Blows my mind this game isn’t bigger than what it is.
Long live the finals! They should implement a halo 3 fileshare system to "Sponsor" favorite clips/screenshots/custom games/etc. For everyone around the world! A jukebox mode, a forge mode, etc. Would be able to get streamers and casuals to really start just chilling on this game! Btw, all circuits are FULLY OPEN NOW! Grind for the last 23 days! The next teaser slowly starts next week probably! You guys should check out the easter eggs in game! We unlock new stickers, etc. As a community The charms and skins for this game are phenomenal! The new flame skin burns brighter the longer you hold down the button, the tv screen charm activates LIVE when Special events happen IN GAME!
Good game, but not enough content. Got boring fast. Not sure why this is a trend with developers these days releasing multiplayer games with very little content and expecting to retain players. People get bored and move on if there's not enough variety to keep the game fresh.
They have added some content, but I think they should focus on Cashout content. Instead of adding game modes from another game. Devs do it to please investors. It's the same reason it's almost impossible to own software, everyone offers subscriptions instead, for recurring revenue. Why sell consumers a single player game for $70 once? When you could give them a a multiplayer game that they can play with their friends online, and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on over 10+ years? Ultimately I was hoping we were getting past the live service corporate hype train... but now we have concord, and WB wants to buckle down on live service as well, and license out some of their most successful IPs. :(
They think they could be like counter-strike. which if you think about is pretty barebones when you compare it to modern games. Its a 5v5 bomb defusal game, no ADS apart from a handful of guns with a shooting mechanic that's niche. Yet it still has massive numbers, even if half of that are just skin traders, that's still a healthy number playing the same 5 v 5 tactical shooter mode on a handful of maps that's been around since the 90s
I see this a lot and it confuses me. The Finals has a lot to grind for actually, unlocking kits and collecting the mastery skins for guns and abilities, character level progression unlocks(that they are adding more to each season), ranked and world tour rank skin grinds, weekly/seasonal challenges to earn cosmetics and the battle pass doesnt have XP boosters in the paid section so you're not out trying to grind that for free as well. This game has a lot to do for free.
@@Ic3Man_GamingAgreed 100%, people say that and have no idea what content is grindable in many games unless it’s supplied in Fortnite or CoD UI terms lol.
I feel you, i am the only one who still play the game after a while in the group. I am really enjoying The Platform since it's update. Nice video you wrap here !
I was in the same situation. My friends and I struggled to find a game we all could consistently play. I have a friend who likes 3rd person, one who like anything. There are 4 of us and we don't like leaving 1 person out to watch. It was fun for a few nights but my friends didn't feel up to it anymore. So I got tired of constantly asking people to join me. Then we started with Deep Rock Galactic and Helldivers 2, and now currently Space Marine 2. These games seem to facilitate the best casual for fun system for us. The Finals is great, but it's too competitive for my friends to like.
I see your point, I also wish to have more publicity for the game, maybe it is possible to advertise the game more as a community like fireing a meme saying "nice game but.. can you reach the finals?" Idk, would be cool to boost the game more. I really think the finals has to lot of potential just to stay where its currently is.
I do hope Season 4's content brings in new players. I have been playing Black Ops 6 Beta recently and it made me miss the Finals somehow. The Finals seems more casual friendly than the current BO6 beta (the most sweat fest COD I've ever played, but its gameplay is really good and smooth). I'm sorry for your loss. Sending my condolences. Hopefully time heals wounds for your family.
I feel like it’s definitely the marketing. I’ve also never seen ads or seen sponsored content from them. Most friends or mutuals I ask have never heard of the game. It is impressive how big it’s gotten. Without all that. The game is made with so much love and you can just feel it. The devs are pretty active in their discord as well. Makes me very excited for their other game Arc Raiders, which was revealed during the game awards. It’s also how I found out about the studio and The Finals.
my biggest hot take on the finals is the main reason why it didnt catch on personally as much as it shouldve, the beta was absolutely amazing and had so much potential as to be one of the best versus fps's of all time really, and yet, when it was almost released they patched an update that personally killed the game for me, not because of the content of the update necessarily, but because of the "light class meta" that ensued after, it almost felt like a gut punch playing anyone other than light because of the simple reason that light is technically the best if you never get hit and such, and also for a game balanced around being as much fun as possible it sure did change quite a few elements that were in the beta because they were fun and nerfed them in the full release, to seem more competitive and tourney friendly and such, really it isnt a bad game by all means, it just lost its chance really because it seems like they balancing is just too wacky and comp based to really be more fun than games that are out nowadays and such, also the entire AI thing ruined it for alotta people so that can contribute to the playerbase too honestly. like truthfully no shade if you like the game i mean personally i still do really like the game, i am just personally not very hopeful of it surviving the next couple years if something big doesnt happen soon from it and such, its pretty much exactly what happened to rainbow six siege honestly just on a lesser scale, like how ubi sacrified almost all fun of the game to make it comp viable.
Oh man that season two music goes so hard, I really hope we can change the music in season 4 ! I wouldn’t say the games got a small over all player count, mainly on steam. Last month or so the dev team talked abt how they get roughly 300k a month across all platforms which is relieving to say the least.
I play it and have since it launched I got every battle pass so far and have loved every minute of playing it. It's legit my fav game but I wish they didnt nerf the medium grenade launcher i loved that gun. Now I have to play with an AKM , sometimes i play heavy with shields and a lewis gun to be supportive as hell. I only play light on power shift but I loved your video and cant wait to see what comes out next with the team behind the Finals and the other game they're putting out soon.
I’ll tell you what happened because I predicted this within their first season- lack of content mixed with lack of marketing. It was obvious since the beginning that Embark has passion but SOMETHING (probably the higher ups) is getting in the way, I just know it. This game has a _severe_ problem with stagnancy. Players have been talking about this since even 7-9 months ago. Most other live service games in the 2020s are competing by releasing constant updates, roadmaps (which embark said they are not doing because they don’t want to make “empty promises”, which makes this def sound like a higher-up issue), releasing new characters (in hero shooters), etc. The Finals is releasing new skins and dropping new seasons but that’s about it. In fact, the game relies WAY too much on pushing skins every weekend. That is their main form of keeping things ~fresh~ but it’s failing. Players only come back during a new season because that’s when they see anything new. The “events” are all just “play this amount of times to get a 3rd recolor of the same item!”. Even just a tiny bit of effort to change the background login screen more would help, like the s2 one. The UI is a bit too stale. You need artwork, cinematics, new music to keep a player base in this gen of live service games. The constant use of ai in the item inventory/battle pass doesn’t help either and makes it look lazy. Overall, I would say it’s lacking _culture._ I can’t feel it like I can Valorant, Overwatch, Apex, or hell even Deadlock in its alpha. It needs more of a consistent theme. Bring back the game show aspect more, bring in world lore, bring in character stories. It doesn’t know what it wants to be anymore. And yes, to the comments in denial the game IS slowly thinning out player base over time. Four months ago Nexon reported The Finals wasnt hitting its mark and its other titles were "partially offset" by its short-coming. From March-May the average playerbase was 20k, now its dropped to 13-15k this month alone. I know I didn’t go over advertising/marketing, but man that is another beast within itself.
First off there’s absolutely no use of ai in the battle pass or ‘item inventory’ (whatever that means). Second, the finals music is some of the best a live service game has to offer. But I do agree with your other points asides from a dying community, this is explained simply by the ranked changes and season 3 being such a disappointment.
One thing that contributes to the player count feeling low is how split up the player base is. Especially with TA, some ppl just play that cus its ranked, some ppl just grind world tour and some just play casually on powershift and quick cash, and there often isnt much crossover between the game modes playerbases. This is why when you get to emerald in WT you tend to start seeing a lot of the same ppl. Also the skill ceiling in this game is absolutely bonkers, even at top ranks the differences in game sense, aim, movement, etc. is so drastic that casual players can be left in the dust
It has been quite some time since I've had so much fun playing a videogame. If embark studios manage to listen to us and fix these problems and maybe bring some new cool features I feel like this game has the potential to be a top videogame and Im not joking
One thing i didn't see you mention is that the Finals is literally a new game that doesn't resemble other games, the combination of map destruction, the gunplay, the high time to kill etc. is something completely new that the gaming scene hasn't seen yet. It literally didn't have a "interest group" before the game launched (like valorant coming from csgo, xdefiant coming from cod etc.) I have 600 hours in this game and i haven't burned out once. This game isn't dead, it won't die, it just needs more attention.
I heard of The Finals after following Arc Raiders and waiting for that game to get a release date. A friend told me about The Finals and I was like its made by embark the same people who are making Arc Raiders and it got really into its gameplay.
I'm playing the finals ever since last December and it's the funnest game ever embark studio still have lil issues but still fun best ever I'll never stop supporting embark studio dealing with the finals family
My two cents… things I like: - Game engine is super polished and optimized - Linux EAC support 🎉 - Destruction and Fluid Mechanics - Crazy cosmetics fit well in the world - Original idea and gameplay format Things I don’t love: - AI announcer voices (not just ethically, I don’t think they always sound good) - MTX (they’re pretty reasonable relative to other AAA shooters rn, but it’s still a con) - Sniper crosshair does not stay in center of screen, but bullets shot would. Made sniping really benefit from overlays. I don’t know of any others. And even this is just nitpicking… I think the game is just being outclassed by giants… but I hope the playerbase it does have remains consistent!
One of the reasons I quit was it always felt like the heavies were so oppressive. You would use movement to juke their aim and hit the heavies from different angles and they would use a rocket launcher and 1 shot you. Or how they had LMGs with insane DPS output that never required a reload. There are ways to deal with it but it wasn't fun to figure it out so a lot of us quit
I liked the game a lot but there was a couple of annoyances for me. A pretty big one was the single weapon limit for me, it made the choices more impactful but forces you to rely on teammates to cover your weakness based on your weapon choice which is a double edged sword. Me for instance I don’t really have video game friends. So it sucks. They also made a lot of melee weapons which always kiiiiinda rubbed me the wrong way given especially at launch a good third of the options were melee when I wanted more ranged weapons, and I didn’t enjoy getting spammed down by zipping melee users given it’s a shooter. I also didn’t like that destruction abilities was mostly limited to the heavy characters. Another annoyance was sights bouncing off screen center then having the Devs say that a crosshairs overlay wasn’t allowed. The real reason I dropped this game is that I’m kind of kneecapped without friends, and I feel less capable of using my own skill to overcome the difference in this game. Inter teammate skill feels like it’s weighed heavier that individual player skill so until I get friends to play with I’m at a disadvantage. Which isn’t inherently bad imo just less of what I’m looking for. It’s a similar reason to why I gave up on apex. Though with apex a massive contribution was the battle royals factor and I hate battle royals
I recently picked the game back up after cycling out of playing it for a while. I play alone, because none of my friends were/are interested in playing it (then again, I've never asked.) I've had plenty of fun, even with there being only a handfull of maps. I think the gameplay more than makes up for it, no match turns out the same.
I play the game regularly or try to because if just how much I love it but all my friends moved on and it’s just so tough solo with randoms. I’d love to have some folks I could play consistently with ngl
I still thank Skillup every day for exposing me to this gem of a game. And mind you, I've pretty much always been a single player only guy, but this game, man... it's so refreshing and just fun!
You mentioned the store having "slight fomo". I can see how thay would seem that way, but all items in the store are permanent. You can access them through the appearance menu.
The trailers were hyped lol, I played 2 closed beta and the opened one. The problem is balancing honestly. It's still fun but frustrating and I would still recommend it if you haven't played it. Try the push mode or terminal mode they are easier to get into than the og modes. But yeah as a mainly solo gamer, the og modes are much harder, having a 3 stack is a huge advantage. Sorry for your loss man.
Thank you, I primarily do the push mode solo. But when you're the only one on the point and you have 4 light snipers on your team that have 0 objective score at the end.
I have to agree on the Season 1 take, I don't know why but it felt different from the beta, it was enough to make me drop The Finals for the majority of the season but I ended up coming back at the very start of season 2 and ended up falling in love with the game all over again
I've been having fun with the finals since I started playing about 3 months ago on ps5. It's a game I hop on daily if I have the time, I do wish there was a little more to it regardless it's very fun and refreshing from cod like games. I also think they should add more to the personal player rank instead of caping it at 60 and maybe adding like cool stickers or charms for certain ranks to at least have some goal to feel a bit self satisfying. I feel that xp I get after games doesn't really go to anything. But very fun and my favorite game right now. So yeah.
It's the best multiplayer fps game I've ever played. Truly baffling how it isn't one of the biggest games at the moment. It has everything and it is FUN.
It's strange to assume the console player count would be about half of the Steam count, considering the sheer number of more players console has when taking into account average sales of multi-platform games. I know that on PS5, it's been no trouble to get crossplay-off lobbies, which is pretty rare for games nowadays.
Season 4 needs to pop off, they should look into dropping a casual game mode mixtape, drop like tdm, capture the flag, maybe even an infected esq game mode, obviously this isn’t the direction embark probably want to take the game in and they will most likely look to take cash out deep into the competitor scene, but casual gamers build a game
The finals is easily in the top 3 best FPS we had since the last 10 years and we need to support it. Like any other games it has its pros and cons but wich game is perfect ?
you know what it is? it doesnt have noteable characters or story. We underestimate IP, and having ppl feel connected to the characters and the world. People will just play a game if you have interesting characters and a story i guess. It also seems like the game is too "creative", and ppl dont really wanna learn a new game or new mechanics unfortunately.
I enjoyed it since open beta and I love to play sniper with the grapple. Especially Terminal Attack. I never really enjoyed that game mode before on counter strike, but now I truly enjoy it because of movement and destructability.
I saw a video where the guy did the math on how much average players were logging into the game every day. And he said it was 220k plus daily people logging in. So if thats the case thats why they arent too stressed about it.
@@threshious 120 at its best 180 at its worst. it really depends on what server i get. Singapore is the best one. but Taiwan seems to be the most common and the worst by far XD. oh well.
I played through the beta with my friend whom i barely convinced to try this game out and man we were hooked, we had tons of fun the game was very fast, after S1 dropped we grinded the battle pass eneded up convincing more people to play, we had many issues with the game mostly technical me and my friend were complaining that we cant have any other tabs open or else it lags into the oblivion during huge fights ( our rigs are peetty decent ive got an rtx 3060 and im barely pulling 60 to 70fps which is wild but that didnt stop me from playing) other issues were mainly the Chinese cheaters that overflooded ranked and casual at one point, when we started S1 we also believed something was off then we realised that embark nerfed the movement for some reason slowing the game down which took a bit to readjust, my favourite thing about S1 though was when you were able to throw c4s on fire barrles, red and poison and you could send them flying cooking instantly anyone it hit often wiping entire teams it was very fun. Other than that we left the finals after getting burned out i continued playing for a bit and once S2 hit i thought they d fix the optimization which imo was terrible, they didnt, S2 was cool but since i was alone i only got in a few matches before getting bored. Now we got into the finals again in s3 and realised they took out competitive cash out which was annoying the new gamemode sucks for the finals its not the same but still got to gold after that we resorted to playing the old comp cashout in world tour.
I lovingly call The Finals the Super Smash Bros of competitive FPS games. Easy to get into, plenty of depth for hard core gamers, designed for a fun time, not a sweaty time
I will say after 250+ hours since beta, this game still needs lots and lots of work. I myself am taking a break because of the frustrations I have with it. I love the idea of this game, but it is in such an unbalanced state that I can't play anymore. For a while at least
It's a 2 way street. I've played Light and got annihilated by a heavy, and i've also been a heavy that got annihilated by a light. I've also been the light that has wrecked a heavy, and a heavy that has wrecked a light. There are definitely balance issues, but the experience changes game to game.
That is one of the core mechanics of the game that made players like me love the damn game when it was first released in BETA but unfortunately becuase of players like you they nerfed the fuck outta that game & demenished one the things that made the game that popular. Unbalancing gave you unpredictability when it first launched but now it's just like any other game tbh. No fun at all.
I was lately starting to think more about exactly this. It's nowhere near ACTUALLY dead, but it's genuinely surprising how it's so "underrated" or whatever the better word would be, while the game is SO POLISHED. Like, holy hell - graphics are nuts (and don't talk about bad optimization, my 4GB RX570 with whatever Intel CPU from 12 years ago it had could run the thing), a LOAD of customization and genuinely high quality cosmetics, maps are pretty good... Heck, even the trailers are really good, season 2 trailer is genuinely one of most hype trailers ever for me. The only negatives I can easily say rn is definitely crappy match making, big focus on competitiveness and not much for casuals (for ex. FFA mode would be nice), and the gun balancing is fucking awful, but other than that, this game deserves more attention! Genuinely frustrating how dogshit like Warzone, shitty rereleases etc. earn in millions of cash for literally no good reason. Now let's pray Tencent will fuck off soon and doesn't do any shit to "SaTiSfY MiLliOnS Of gamble- I mean cHiNeSe pLaYeRs"
I tried to get my playgroup to try The Finals during that initial open beta, but nobody showed interest. We just played Hunt: Showdown, as we always do. Hunt is so good.
I've played this game and i love it. I found out about it from a steam ad on the store page. I don't think the ai voices are an issue (I didn't even know before thia video). I think the main problem is availability... This comes from it not being available on last gen consoles (yes ik those are very old by now but there is still a huge player base) and the high pc requirements mainly it's very cpu heavy (in my experience). I usually play it on my Steam Deck, where it is playable but bc of the shared 15w APU tdp the cpu uses a lot and the gpu can't get enough power to keep up then i have a laptop with an i5-10210u and an Nvidia mx250, even with that bad gpu it only uses about 50% bc the CPU can't keep up. I think this happens from the dynamic, destroyable environment, so lower settings won't really help. The only option is if they'd optimize the game more. Overall the current player base they have is not that low either considering steam + PS5 and Xbox series x/s.
Well as an adult gamer I played it for fun. Then I played with some kid that was hyperventilating saying our enemies are letting us win. Then some kids compared it to cocaine and that it is that addictive. Then I stopped playing it cause it got boring. It's too team based. Unless you have a team with 3 very good friends, it's a no go game. It's absolutely toxic to you if you attempt playing it with randoms. It's just chaos incarnated. It's your team vs 3 other teams. The game is the definition of getting 3rd partied. P.S. Light have a gun that shoot as fast as you push the trigger - my mouse can push my trigger in 5 ms, hackers use only that gun.
Also someone pointed out that if you just want the helmet or jacket from a bundle you can just buy single pieces (also in the contestant edit mode)
Lots of "The game isn't dead" and similar comments... I know the game isn't dead, I made the video, and if you watched the whole thing you would see that I said the game is not dead and performed very well. I'm just going to assume these kinds of people are the same people that take headlines as the whole news story and believe every headline they read and feel sorry for them.
A few complaints about the thumbnail being clickbait, and to that I can say a couple things:
1. Welcome to youtube
2. You guys chose the thumbnail. I uploaded 3 different ones and youtube picked the one that got the most watch time (not just the most clicks) and since the one that says "DEAD?" got way more watch time that became the thumbnail.
I have seen some valid points though about the packaging of the video and will look into it!
THE FINALS JUST TEASED SEASON 4 IN THE LIVESTREAM AND CASH OUT IS OFFICIALY BACK! WE'RE HEADED BACK TO SEASON 1! PRAY FOR THE FINALS
The Finals is what I imagined games would look like in the future as a child

So true

That's the reason why I play it, cause it's what the future of fps would be when full dive in neurolink was a thing.

14k daily players (only on steam) isn't a "dead game"
Plus prably sameish on consoles each. I have no problem finding games
@@Jarochito- It’s become a monthly trend to say 'The Finals is dead,' and people are actually believing it. Because of that, they don't want to try or invest in the game. These UA-camrs only care about views these days.
Also, vast majority are console players.

Now you either play meta or loose.

Cause people wanna play the same new multiplayer shit every year paying bucks and bucks for it (u know the franchise)
it's such a great gift to the gaming community, I'm from OCE too and I gotta say that I never fail to find a game. people who play love it!!!
Don’t expect anything. I lost hope after s2 failed to revive the game
I can guess multiple reasons people wanting to play the same game ever year and the amount of the finals dead videos
@bluerie I mean understand but the game is still good might not be the best game but I would rather play the finals vs giving company 70$ for a game that probably comes out broken

That thing is so damn hype. From the shots to the music and the sync, god dayum
Exactly, Cash out is such a cool unique game mode, and I have a blast every time I play the finals. We'll let them cook for a bit.
I can agree that TTK is a bit much, especially compared to some other games i've been playing.
3 hammer swings
I think embark has time to find their footing on this. Worst case, they can learn from this and make arc radiers a banger!

Its very fun and I'm in a match in less than 1 minute on NA servers!
I wouldn't call it horrible, just uneventful, though the way it kicked off with the whole TA as ranked thing was pretty bad
This just shows that big companies just care about the money, but embark doesnt (at least they make it seem like they dont xd)
that is a really cool feature! People could learn from this shop setup they have!
This feature was added in S3 only

Sometimes it's also sweet cuz they lower the price
oh, you're right! wish i knew that sooner!
It’s criminal we never got that set in the thumbnail 😂
It's aesthetically very similiar to apex. So on face value people would've thought "why play this instead of apex?" That and the fact that they didn't market this game enough too.
The aesthetic, destruction, and physics make The Finals so much more fun and dynamic than Apex. I tried Apex with friends and could barely get through 2 or 3 games. It was a snooze fest. I don't understand the appeal
@@user-ne9sd4ow1oApex gameplay craps all over the finals any day.
As a community
The charms and skins for this game are phenomenal! The new flame skin burns brighter the longer you hold down the button, the tv screen charm activates LIVE when Special events happen IN GAME!
I never liked charms, but the finals has some really cool ones!
As guy that ONLY plays the finals after work I appreciate the video ❤
It's because they are releasing game modes and not full games.
That's a great meme format!!!
BRO that transition in 13:09 was sick!
THANK YOU! I was hoping someone would notice!
I play this game daily, never gets old
I like the finals but I struggle to find anyone to play with and that really does make a difference in this game
the finals never dies, I wont let it happen >:C
Same, I buy things in the store to support them when I have a few extra dollars
Season 1 sound track gets me hyped!!!! So good! 😊
my biggest hot take on the finals is the main reason why it didnt catch on personally as much as it shouldve, the beta was absolutely amazing and had so much potential as to be one of the best versus fps's of all time really, and yet, when it was almost released they patched an update that personally killed the game for me, not because of the content of the update necessarily, but because of the "light class meta" that ensued after, it almost felt like a gut punch playing anyone other than light because of the simple reason that light is technically the best if you never get hit and such, and also for a game balanced around being as much fun as possible it sure did change quite a few elements that were in the beta because they were fun and nerfed them in the full release, to seem more competitive and tourney friendly and such, really it isnt a bad game by all means, it just lost its chance really because it seems like they balancing is just too wacky and comp based to really be more fun than games that are out nowadays and such, also the entire AI thing ruined it for alotta people so that can contribute to the playerbase too honestly. like truthfully no shade if you like the game i mean personally i still do really like the game, i am just personally not very hopeful of it surviving the next couple years if something big doesnt happen soon from it and such, its pretty much exactly what happened to rainbow six siege honestly just on a lesser scale, like how ubi sacrified almost all fun of the game to make it comp viable.
Really liked the transition from Mirrors edge into The Finals at 13:09
Assuming you don’t know some embark developers did work on Mirror’s edge
I’ve been playing the finals since day 1 and loved it because it’s only game I don’t get annoyed by right now.
Season 2 trailer is goated
Music gave me goosebumps fr it already seems nostalgic hearing it now
Store isn’t fomo you can buy anything you see in the equipment tab which is why I love it
One thing i didn't see you mention is that the Finals is literally a new game that doesn't resemble other games, the combination of map destruction, the gunplay, the high time to kill etc. is something completely new that the gaming scene hasn't seen yet.

@@threshious same but the aesthetics might be worth it😍
I'm playing the finals ever since last December and it's the funnest game ever embark studio still have lil issues but still fun best ever I'll never stop supporting embark studio dealing with the finals family
My two cents… things I like:
- Game engine is super polished and optimized
- Linux EAC support 🎉
- Destruction and Fluid Mechanics
- Crazy cosmetics fit well in the world
- Original idea and gameplay format
Things I don’t love:
- AI announcer voices (not just ethically, I don’t think they always sound good)
- MTX (they’re pretty reasonable relative to other AAA shooters rn, but it’s still a con)
- Sniper crosshair does not stay in center of screen, but bullets shot would. Made sniping really benefit from overlays.
I don’t know of any others. And even this is just nitpicking… I think the game is just being outclassed by giants… but I hope the playerbase it does have remains consistent!
Very underrated, the environment Embark created for this game is very cool and really makes use of next gen graphics
I got over 100 hrs on the finals and don’t plan on stopping
I think the gameplay is too fast pace to try to learn a bunch of maps anyways.

So yeah.
Nice vid! Well made
I love this game, havent really seen a lapse in games found
Had the same problem all my friends played something else
It's the best multiplayer fps game I've ever played. Truly baffling how it isn't one of the biggest games at the moment. It has everything and it is FUN.
The finals has became my bro and It's main game about 500hrs each
Terminal attack only became the ranked mode so that they can make cash out better

My friends either don't play on pc or the ones who did don't play anymore so i have to play solo. Unfortunatly soloing this game really sucks
I lovingly call The Finals the Super Smash Bros of competitive FPS games. Easy to get into, plenty of depth for hard core gamers, designed for a fun time, not a sweaty time
I fuckin love this game.. just hope the player base doesn’t keep declining
We could be Concord. This game is fine.
Concord happened as was in the process of editing, or I would have thrown a comparison in there. RIP that game
I will say after 250+ hours since beta, this game still needs lots and lots of work. I myself am taking a break because of the frustrations I have with it. I love the idea of this game, but it is in such an unbalanced state that I can't play anymore. For a while at least
i genuinely cried at this video i love THE FINALS so so much
The Finals has been my main game to play. Plenty of ppl ive met to run as a team. Its very fun.
It’s not a skill issue. It’s and unbalance issue. 1 class shouldn’t be overpowered
No class is op its just some are annoying to new players and others arent.
It's a 2 way street. I've played Light and got annihilated by a heavy, and i've also been a heavy that got annihilated by a light. I've also been the light that has wrecked a heavy, and a heavy that has wrecked a light. There are definitely balance issues, but the experience changes game to game.
@@threshious that’s true but I do feel like they should add a 2v2 game mode or some sort of tdm. Or like make the terminal attack 3v3 and 2v2 aswell
The finals is the best new shooter I Played in the last 3 year minimum
This game isn’t dead, but it could be better and much bigger.
I didn’t know the steam deck did that! You have some valid points though, there’s a bunch of people the game isn’t available to
I tried it, but the insanely low time to kill feels rough
People are afraid of change, they’ve been playing the same thing for years and can’t give something new and genuinely good a fair try.
Player rise at midnight means "one more game bro"
