Federal legalization should have happened many years ago. The issue is that our country is being run by walking corpses who have been championing anti-weed legislation for their entire careers. They're too old and stubborn to admit they were wrong when it came to cannabis. This country needs to move forward, but it's incredibly difficult when people with outdated ways of thinking are holding back progress.

I am a Republican and have been all of my life. I see absolutely no reason why adults in this country cannot use marijuana legally. I have never seen anyone do anything nearly as bad as what I have seen people do while drinking alcohol. There are so many benefits for sick people also but I think like many things, if you cannot patent it and make billions of dollars off of it and the average person can have a small garden in their back yard, politicians will fight it all the way. Let's move towards freedom instead of needless regulation.

And now all these losers want to make it legal so that they can run away from themselves, reality, life, each other, or how they feel. I've never understood illegal substances and I never will. They have legitimate medicines out there - medicines that are made from plantain substances without "getting high" so that people don't have to deal with how they feel about themselves.

Legalize cannabis federally within each and every state. This way, irrational prohibitionist politicians can't obstruct and prevent legalization against the will of the vast majority of Americans whom support full federal cannabis legalization nationwide. Treat cannabis exactly like we treat far more dangerous and deadly yet perfectly legal alcohol. Legal in all states.

A better way would be to repeal the federal ban on marijuana by descheduling the drug instead of merely moving it to a different, somewhat less illegal category. That reform, which two-thirds of Americans support, would simultaneously address all the other hazards caused by the conflict between federal prohibition and state marijuana laws, including the laws that allow recreational as well as medical use in 23 states. Marijuana then would have the same status as alcohol and tobacco, widely used recreational intoxicants that are not considered "controlled" substances at all.🖖
