Just got mine yesterday, 6 of them! & I can’t see any but one in a little cave 😂 I did lower the water line & there is a little lip at the top but it is open top because I have a Monstera growing out. 🥺 I looked everywhere on the floor & don’t see any. I built a rock structure on the Monstera side & there’s a ton of hiding places and the sandy substrate. I’m hoping they’re all just hiding & I didn’t lose them already! Those breeding colors are amazing & I hope to see them. Thank you for this video!
I have a Red Neon Stiphodon, i got into Goby's after buying a BumbleBee Goby lol thanks for this info, my quarantine tank will be available in 5 more days for now i have my Red Neon in a 1 Gallon along with an Electric Blue Ram, hopefully they hang in there
Hi. Love the video. Beautiful colors. Wow. Im about to redo my scape with gobies. How do you get them to stop digging under the rocks? All of the big rocks would have disappeared under the sand/substrate in a week. (Iny tank) Any suggestions? Thank you.
Very informative. You don't find much info on these guys. Just how mature does a tank have to be for gobies? I have a 20 gallon (80L) tank that was set up almost two months ago. I seeded it with sand from a cycled aquarium, I have ferns, bacopa, anubias, water lettuce, sagitaria, rocks and mopani wood. The only inhabitants right now are three nerites and one mystery snail. Before the snails went in, I treated the tank with a double dose of fertilizer each week, high light and bacter AE every other day and was successful in growing algae and a visible coating of biofilm all over the glass. If the parameters are good can I go ahead and put three gobies in or should I wait some more? Thanks in advance for your advice. I want to do what's best for them.
Thank you! I would say 3 months to establish good biofilm and algae growth. As long as you see algae growth I think it would be okay to add them as they will have something to graze on!
Atropurpureus will have more of black on the body and especially on the fins when the males are in their breeding colours! I’d say at least in the UK Atropurpureus is rarer than semioni!
Your video content is very helpful and I am having digestive problems in fish, gobby keeps stopping eating, shrinking his stomach to death, can I ask how you solve the digestive problem in gobby? Tks a lot !
@@KrishsAquariums i see u used api general cure, did it good and can i use it directly into my gobby tank ? I can just only buy this product in my place ? Tks
@@KrishsAquariums They seem to be doing ok. Grazing all day on the rocks. They got their color back. They were pale when I got them. Do their bellies get fat like Otto cats ? They seem to stay slim all day. Tnx
They get a little bit of a belly when full. Just keep on eye on them over the next few weeks. Sometimes they get parasites and that can make them very skinny really quickly
Ah I see, i tried one a couple times and they wasted to death quickly. I have given up on them since. Ill have to set up a stream tank sometime and make sure mine are treated before i get them
@@KrishsAquariums would couple month old shrimp ok? I searched up online, and they all say the same thing with your saying. But I already purchased two come way. The thing is, I have couple months old that I already purchased. It’s not the smallest shrimp that just born. More like small to median size. Would that be ok? Or do I need to separate the smaller one to another tank.
Nice informational video, thanks! Video creation tip: for a non English speaker and listener like myself, you are talking way too fast, some bits are hard to follow.
Anyone can keep those fish without any water changes what so ever. It is totally unnecessary to do weakly water changes except if you don't intend to get 50 gobies in a 10 gallon tank(witch is a bad idea on it's own for any fish). Only thing you need is a good substrate layers for perfect cycle, many plants and stones, good water flow and less feedings. My tank is 200 liters, inner filter 1000 liters per hour. I only add water after evaporation. Simple 2 layer substrate.

stiphodon aureofuscus

Can you keep them in brackish water (or is that only for breeding)if so, can you keep them with other fish like pea puffers?
Freshwater only! The fry grow in brackish before moving into salt water! I would not recommend keeping them with pea puffers!
Beauty gobys 👍
Thank you!
Is BacterAE enough food for two Gobys or do I need to get them those gel cubes aswell.
I have never tried BacterAE before I might have to give it a go! I think the gel cubes are the best food to feed them!
@@KrishsAquariums yeah aquatic arts recommends it for these goby's. I'm going to get the soilent green too as plan B.

Could I keep a group of any stiphodon goby species in a 38 litre tank? I have a filter with a turnover rate of 568 liters per hour
You can have a group of different species. I group of 8 would work really well. 568 LPH is a good turnover rate too!
Can I keep a single one in a community tank with nano fish like tetras, rasboras, etc.
Of course! They will be happy as long as the got algae and biofilm to graze on!
There are 4 species native to Australia but they are all heavily protected and therefore unavailable in the trade here.
Nooo that’s so sad! But maybe you can see them in the wild!
Yep, have done and have lots of photos of them in habitat. Really cool fish
What’s all the species of goby’s you have in your video ?
Can you list WHAT you're feeding the gobies? I can't understand or recognize the names of foods you spoke of.
Repeshy Solient Green, Frozen Bloodworms and Algae Waffers!
Thanks that's helpful! @@KrishsAquariums

Would they eat a few days old moly fry ?
I don’t think so, they are mainly bottom dwellers so they should be safe
Ah I see, i tried one a couple times and they wasted to death quickly. I have given up on them since. Ill have to set up a stream tank sometime and make sure mine are treated before i get them
Once I stated treating them, they are super easy to keep. I have some that are 4 years old now! Make sure they have plenty of algae!
What would you say a minimum group size would be?
I wouldn’t say there is minimum group size, a pair is a good!
@@KrishsAquariums Ok thanks!
No problem!
How to breed them? seems like no one ever successfully breed them but idk
The fry need saltwater to survive and mature!
Someone in Germany managed to breed and raise fry
Can they live with shrimp?
They can with adults but I think they may eat very small baby shrimp!

Sure thing!
How can you tell if they're male or female
Males are way more colourful, females are usually white with black horizontal stripes!

Would tiny leaches be safe in their diet?
I wouldn’t recommend this
