i feel like a braided cable would normally move more smoothly than a rubber cable. Its just the way that logitech braided the original g502 that makes it really rigid, because they had durability rather than flexibility in mind. Other gaming mice tend to have a more flexible and malleable braided cable.
i actually prefer the rubber wire, i had a diff logitech mouse with braided cable and it used to move around too much, the rubber one seems to stay more in place for me which in return doesnt affect my skills.
i changed the DPI buttons to volume UP and DOWN. no point changing DPI on the fly if you prefer consistency. i find myself changing volume levels more than DPI sensitivity anyway.
Great review! Weight was key. I saw a video by an expert gamer reviewing the 502's and it like he said it was like moving a "brick" across the desktop! This weighs 86 grams! Big difference! Also the switches versus the other g502's.I was going to buy the Hero but in my research found the "double clicking" was inevitable so I will try the hybrid "Light force" switches. Still waiting for the delivery and next time I will order via your links. I hope G-hub software works with this mouse! Thanks again.
@@nerdemoji3257 The only problem I see is that the Logitech g502 X costs the same as the original g502 when it came out, but is lacking any RGB. hello, What you mean? What problem ? I just get a g 502x (before i was with g 502 hero) and im surpised about de bad feeling of the scrollwheel and the lack of precision when you go up than you go down, i can see all the scroll wheel block moving for 0.5mm when i want scroll up so its make so much sound at each step.
I currently own a G502 hero. When not in free spinning mode, the weight of the scroll wheel makes the scroll wheel scroll for another second after letting go. (When scrolling with a lot of force.) Does the G502 X still do that?
Can some one answer me some questions: 1) Which models have removable sniper button ? 2) Can wireless models be used wired ? 3) Any of the models to have also bluetooth connectivity?
I own the G502 hero, thinkning of paying someone to upgrading it like new grip, plastic scroll wheel, new switches, paracord, fresh paint for around like 60 USD, should i just get this model?
I have a G502 hero. I think it's better, save for the switches. I don't like how plain the new G502x is. From RGB (not that it matters, but still a feature), to even how you can change mouse feel. All of those features make the 502 hero better IMO. That said? Will I upgrade? Maybe. IF the switches are as good, maybe when my current one dies
Do not buy this 502X. I switched to this after my OG 502 Spectrum died and I am totally horrified by this new mouse both in build quality and control software they use for this mouse. My OG 502 software cannot detect this new 502 X at all !! I had to download a new specific software for this 502 X and that software will give you nightmares trying to do what you want it to do. I actually started to get angry at the software and had to read the manual several times just to map the mouse keys.
Sniper or DPI button is very strange at my opinion. G502 you need to hold this button for sniping dpi. G502X you need to press this button and slightly move the mouse and you don't need to hold it. When your sniping is over you simply short press dpi button and your dpi is reset to normal. This is ridiculous. Why simply one click you are activate snipping mode, another click your normal dpi is back again. For me in BF2042 every touch on snipping button lead me to instant death becouse I can't use this feature any more
One annoying thing I've found is I can't bind the middle tilt left/right to anything meaningful, only volume up/down, etc. You can bind tilt left/right to say...G key, but it only seems to work in chat not as a key bind press.
It is NOT an improvement. They took out the DPI lights on the left side which was convenient, now you have to lift the mouse up and look at the color on the nose of the mouse to see what speed the DPI is at. The second shortcoming is that they put the forward button right beneath the downshift DPI button and you end up sometimes clicking that by accident. The previous generation of this mouse never had these problems and in my mind is superior. Also the scroll wheel on the new G502 is not as good as the previous gen.
Is the software necessary to have? Like can you set your settings for the mouse and uninstall the program after? I'm planning on getting this for my work and gaming PC. And are you able to customize the DPI change buttons as well?
The hardware buttons works without programming. I use it at work as well without software and although it's bare bones it works for me. You may want to test it out yourself to see if it works for you without installing software

Hi, did you notice if the hard plastic/ rubber covering the cable sticking out of the mouse actually touches the mat or you desk in this case? it looks likes it facing downwards, because even if it isn't causing much friction i guess could get damaged at some point.
It doesn't cause that much friction for me. Also my cable is loose because the USB port is close to my mouse. If yours was tight, it would definitely fray more.
OP you are right, I just bought this mouse and took a closer look. The cable is actually pointed downwards to the desk and touching the surface. I am using it on a QCK Prism table mousepad so the friction is not as bad as bare table top.
Why couldn't they have given this mouse a more modern, ultralight style mouse cable like a paracord / flex cable that is seen on the wired version of the Basilisk v3, Viper v2, MM710, etc, model O, etc?
That rgb line/inner indentation seems a bit uncomfortable for resting your hand on it (at least for people with OCD like myself lol)...is it really that noticeable of a feeling when you palm grab it?

I doubt you'll feel a big difference with 10g. It depends on what mouse you're used to. If price is not that important, going wireless might be better.
RGB is useless, you're winning on both ends, it costs less than half the amount of money and comes at a lowet weight, wireless is good, but i'll be using this mouse just for productivity, so it'll do just as good.
is the small rgb indicator fully customizable in color. I like to have like 6 profiles I swap between and it's important I have full control of the exact color of that small rgb part. I want to make sure they didn't limit it to like 5 predefined colors or something. my g502 is starting to have lots missclicks and draging and dropping things can sometimes take 8+ tries. This will be the second g502 I've had over the years with this issue. Really hope the optical sensor solves this issue.
Just got one, There is a maximum of 5 dpi settings, which all have colours that you can't change, going white, orange, light blue, yellow and purple. The indicator only turns on while you are changing the dpi, so it won't always have a colour you don't want. The sniper button automatically goes to the lowest dpi, which makes the indicator turn white, and when you let go, it goes back to the dpi and colour it was before the sniper button was pressed. You don't get exact control over it, however it turns off after changing the dpi, so don't worry about the mouse always having a light lit that you can't change the colour of. Hope this helps!
Alright, good to know. I might move on to that after my original G502 RGB dies, as i still use it mostly to avoid using G-Hub. LGS was and still is great
@@prashantranjitkar No, there are literally no lights on this mouse, only one little small light above the mouse scroll which lights up only for a short amount of time when you change the DPI on the mouse.

Using a bungee solves the cable wear
I also love the scroll wheel!
Me too
So the G7 and G8 buttons, can you change them to be actual key bindings instead of a dpi changer?
You can do it with the G502 Hero, so I expect you can do it with the G502 X as well.
RGB is useless, you're winning on both ends, it costs less than half the amount of money and comes at a lowet weight, wireless is good, but i'll be using this mouse just for productivity, so it'll do just as good.
Even if this wired version doesn't have RGB, does it light maybe one colour or blue colour? Or at least the G logo or something?
is the small rgb indicator fully customizable in color.
Just got one,
There is a maximum of 5 dpi settings, which all have colours that you can't change, going white, orange, light blue, yellow and purple.
I think the newest one won't have that problem but who knows. Only time will tell!

@@hendelburgisunavaliable is the cable still good?
Alright, good to know. I might move on to that after my original G502 RGB dies, as i still use it mostly to avoid using G-Hub.
LGS was and still is great
Is this rgb?
No it's not
@@IBKade thx
@@IBKade Even if this wired version doesn't have RGB, does it light maybe one colour or blue colour? Or at least the G logo or something?
great mouse, but possibly the most fragile cable I've ever seen on a mouse. Hopefully won't start getting mangled after 8 months
Ah yes... The wire is a bit thin. But seeing that it does not twist and is pretty loose, it does make the mouse move very easily
@@IBKade Well, it's 8 months later. Any noticeable wear on the cable? (Great review btw!)
@@IBKadeHow the mouse and cable holds after 2 years?
yeah i find the older version better imo.
great review (:
Thank you!
Is for palm grip?
Not quite
The mouse weight is perfect. My aim is soo much better compared to the older one
Very happy to hear this!
great video mate, you sold it
Thank you!
i have the mouse for fps games I do not recommend in my honest opinions
No RGB is a win. They're for kids anyway.
Cring boomer
@@Lorentz_Driver and how old are you by the way? With kids I mean kids, like 10 years old.
RGB for life....I'm 44 now😂

Can we customize the sniper button ?! And put something else instead like ping in fps games ?!
I've just found out that the mouse does NOT have RGB lights when I already bought the mouse, hahaha.
Yes the wired does not.
Even if this wired version doesn't have RGB, does it light maybe one colour or blue colour? Or at least the G logo or something?
@@prashantranjitkar No, there are literally no lights on this mouse, only one little small light above the mouse scroll which lights up only for a short amount of time when you change the DPI on the mouse.
its great isnt it?
Bought one for $70 AUD i have no need for RGB bs i want to look at the game not the mouse
No braided cable, no RGB? Same price as the G502 HERO? This is an outright downgrade from the original G502 and the G502 HERO. Logitech has fallen.
ty
That scrolling wheel is a deal breaker for me it’s just disgusting 👎🏻
I got the wireless n it’s 10/10
Haha glad you like it!
I actually much! prefer no RGB
got my for 60 dollars with the shipping
I want my weights back bruv
I have the razer basilisk v3, do you think this logitech is better?
So I have both right now. And I'm going to post a video soon. Personally using it I prefer the Logitech. But this is from me using it for days and days side by side. It's very similar. But the basilisk v3 looks so much cooler.
@@IBKade thank you, i will wait for your video comparison
I like everything about it ... except the wheel ....
Too smooth?
@@IBKade yeah too smooth and too light ... the OG has some give and feedback, you can feel the wheel spinning and has some addictive vibration that I could not explain ...
Yea I know what you mean. I think they did it to make everything lighter in general
IT`S NOT RUBBER! TPE IS NOT RUBBER!
skimping on the cables
g hub pofram have issius
yeah the new software is shit
Toda la vida
good review. but please prepare a basic script of talking points and show some numbers/graphs, such as for the mass and the size.
10 dollar mice have rgb and a braided cable now 🤣
Плохо,что эта мышка теперь мало весит. Как пустышка
Worse than G502, modern Logitech just suck, back to mx518 & wired gpro
that cable sucks
No.. im stick with G502 Hero..
That still is an excellent mouse!
Do not buy this 502 X if your Hero dies, this is nothing like what you are used to right now. The mouse is crap and the software is a nightmare! I regret switching to this 502 X as my old 502 has died after close to 5 years of FPS and RTS heavy use. Should have gone for the Basilisk V3 instead
Alright blya
You forgot to mention no RGB. 🤣
He literally says it at the end of the video XD
