michaela leigh last year, it snowed for probably the second time where I live in Texas, and then the next day i wore shorts👌🏻 but those are just within day changes...not the, wake up leaving the house in 30 degree temperatures and come home in the afternoon to 90 degree temperatures
Rick Ghosh Cali is amazing, it’s just so expensive because the wages are high and there are tons of people moving there for jobs, which drives up housing and rent
@Saul Abrego Maybe you're right. But the point is every big city has the same problem. It's not a Austin and Houston specific problem . But compared to Toronto where I live, the livability in Texas cities are much better. The Greater Toronto Area has a population of over 6 million yet we still have only one major highway in the city and it's literally the busiest highway in the world. The infrastructure here is peanuts compared to Texas. That's what I was saying.
when I was in college up at NTSU, I worked with a woman from NY. She and her husband had come to Denton so he could study jazz. She said once that they were going to go to LA over the Memorial Day long weekend. She was depressed when we told her that they could not make it out to LA and back in four days (they were going to take an extra day). At least not and spend any time in LA. We said "the bad news is that you'll drive for a day and not even be out of the state yet; the good news is that at the end of the day, you'll be halfway to LA."
I’m native to San Antonio, TX., born and Raised. We are friendly and welcoming. I know for a fact if people get out of hand. I'm a Black dude, and I have to agree. I was a registered Democrat all my life and I realized people in the blue states are garbage and rude as hell. I thought being rude was normal behavior until I visited Texas, Georgia, Idaho, and Iowa and I LOVED the people there. People in red states are nice, kind, and most importantly Considerate of others. I've never seen this before. I grew up in the Washington DC area and I NEVER made a single friend at all, they accused me of being too nice! I hated it! I see why the Nice red states are afraid of the blue infections. If your state has to remain red in order to maintain your kind charm so be it. I left the democratic party years ago and now I'm a libertarian. Peace and stay kind Texas!
You’ve heard of acting, right? Conservatives are known to be conservative (selfish only). Not everyone likes showing their REAL attitude or how much pain they are in out in the open socially. Texas is still cool, though. I have no issue with it. But people in red states aren’t nicer. Get real.
I'd have to agree. I'm a wildland firefighter who goes all over the country. The nastiest people I've ever dealt with were in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York State, and southern Michigan. The nicest have been in the Carolinas, Montana, Georgia, Tx, Wisconsin and North Michigan (Above the Mackinaw bridge). Oregon, California, and Washington had people just wanting to be left alone, not really nice, not really rude; A different culture, would be the best way to put it. The first places I listed, the people are just generally angry, at everyone and about everything, if they see you, you're treated like you've somehow wronged them, when I lived in CT, I was treated like an absolute piece of garbage just for being there. But the red states, you show up and most of the time, you get treated like an old friend, which was very odd to me but it is a thing! Some folks are kind of hard to get away from sometimes... haha

Lived in Texas for almost a year. There's no way to describe how big a state it is. I enjoyed the colloquial expressions many locals used. People, like anywhere, can be big hearted. the weather went from hot to warm and back to hot again. If you like it on the cool side, it will sap you.

Ice Queen lol that’s what I meant by “shows what you know” I can’t throw a rock without hitting some Ted Cruz supporter. Beto was the best chance of having a Democrat in Texas and even he lost.
Texas, a very welcoming state, living here for 1 1/2 years and loving it every day more and more, the sky at night is so beautiful, you can actually see many starts, the weather unpredictable, summer rain is the best, fresh afternoons, beautiful fall season, barbecue is so yummy, driving and listening to music has become my best hobby, you can add many miles to your car pretty fast though. Texas is adding many more residents every day and we thank this beautiful state for letting us settle here and start a new life!
My son and his wife moved to Houston, TX 6 years ago. They love living there and as for me , If I could, I'd live there too. Best place ever...😍. Go Texans !!!!
Its my dream to move to Texas with my partner and my young son! I am Irish and I would love to move to Texas and become a police officer! Greatest state in the greatest country on earth!
Due to my father's career and my career, I am a TEXAN who has lived in several other states and in several countries. I'm currently living "abroad" on the East Coast in one of those BLUE states. I PROUDLY display a TEXAS-shaped flag decal on the back of my vehicle. You might spot me on the highway, as I frequently drive I-95 on the East Coast. (No, I am not a truck driver.) One day, I hope to return to my beloved TEXAS. Don't Mess with TEXAS, y'all!!!
texas culture and terrain is too vast to sum up the living in one video in all honesty, west texas and central texas couldnt be anymore different. generalization of texas isnt gonna help anything at all.
Lived in Tyler, Tx for a few years. Loved the winter there, although many people from there acted as if they had winter str8 outta the arctic when the temps got in the 50s lol. I loved it though since I am from a state that has real winter, so I could be outside in January without a coat. Nice people in east Texas, pretty area too.
From Brownsville to Amarillo is 786 miles/11-1/2 hrs drive time. Orange to El Paso is 865 miles /13-1/2 hrs drive time. Harris County (Houston) has a population (2017) of 4,652,980 & covers 6,193 sq mi. Houston covers 627 sq mi of which only 22 sq miles is water. The state of Rhode Island is 1,214 sq miles so the entire state would fit in Harris County.👍👍 The largest county in Texas is Brewster Co (west TX) and it covers 9, 232 sq miles 😱
More fun facts: El Paso is closer to Southern California than it is to Eastern Texas. Some cities in the north of Texas are closer to Chicago than to cities in South Texas.
We need an updated version of this! Your recent states unboxing got better and more in details, you could do an 1h-1h30 video where you show us much more
Everything that you showed was before pandemic. I hope you have a whole new series for the latest updates of all the places you’ve gone through. Thank you I enjoy your videos 😅
Moved a couple of years to the east coast due to my job... and I honestly cannot wait to move back to Texas. Lived in Frisco, Addison, Austin, Round Rock. I miss DFW, H-town and ATX. Hell I even miss Lubbock... and I’m a big City Texas guy. I feel like I’m in a whole other world out here...
Not in Texas. You Aggies decided to ruin THE SWC and/or the Big 12. So y'all suffer with your consequences. Nobody likes a whiner. Especially an Aggie whinner. Keep playing were no one watches in Texas unless your are a relative.
@@georgetirebiter6987 Yeah The SWC collapsed because of Major scandals at all of its schools except for Baylor, Rice, and Arkansas. But your attempt to only blame A&M was a nice try And the Longhorn Network and UTs giant ego is what is ruining the Big 12, so again, nice try. Nebraska and Colorado left because of the Favoritism by the conference towards UT and OU and its honestly probably the reason A&M and Missouri left too.
I am a Texan, and I agree with most of what you say. I don't think it's that friendly though. I've only lived outside of Texas for less than two years in the Finger Lakes region of New York (Canandaigua) and we were amazed by how nice and welcoming the people were. It just isn't like that in Texas. I think there are so many people moving in and out of Texas all the time, that having new people is nothing special. No one goes out of their way to show you around or make you feel welcome. You're just another face in the crowd. When we moved to New York , everyone was really excited to see new people especially people from, where I assume they sort of viewed as, exotic, as silly as that sounds. Everyone couldn't wait to show us their town and they really wanted us to love it there. When we moved back to Texas, they gave us a going away party at school and made us scrapbooks, etc. It was kind of unreal. That would never happen where I'm from.
That end bit about us being so diverse having a lot of everything but we all come together if you try to mess wit Texas almost made me shed a tear 😢. Best State to live in Period!
I was raised in Texas (Houston) and am living in South Padre Island. Lived in Ingleside-on-the-Bay, Corpus Christi and other Gulfside areas, and these are quite different than Austin, Houston, Dallas, etc. I have lived and visited other parts of the world, and the people here are so nice! Wouldn't live anywhere else! (I don't even listen to country music...the diversity is great 👍 ❤)
I saw this video and I live in Texas and I thought to myself, let's see if he can describe Texas well, and I gotta say, he did a pretty dam good job. This video is super accurate
am immigrant, moved to US and started looking for the perfect life and i lived in different states with so many people, cultures and races and i liked 'em all but i found myself and my heart with TEXAS♥️. and seriously everything is big in TEXAS🤪. and the most important thing i learned is : Don't mess with TEXAS🤨
I lived in Lubbock Texas for 2 years as a teen, didn’t really like it but I do love Texas as a whole, if I go back it would definitely be in a different city
@@bryfunkenstein that doesn't mean there are more liberals than conservatives. There is probably more conservatives than liberals in the greater houston area because democrats relay on moderates to push them over the edge.
Harris County (Houston) preferred Hillary by 12% in 2016. Yet you plastered Trump's face over the city. In 2018, every Texas city (plus the Border counties) went even more Democratic.
I grew up in Houston 90s and early 2000s and back in those days alarms on cars used to be long and loud and the frequent thunderstorms we get here would get loud enough at times to set off the alarms in some of these cars.
I live in Hollywood Park and suburb of San Antonio, you were pretty spot on. I moved here from California. Once you leave Texas big cities you can see a difference between right and the left.

My dream is to leave germany one day and permanently move to Texas. I simply love it. Texas’ smell of freedom, independence and personal responsibility for your own life is exactly my way of thinking. I also love the combination of conservative values and modern tech companies.
Just make sure it's Central or North Texas. Avoid living inside the big cities. Avoid Democrat controlled areas like South Texas.
And I'm sure Germany's strong social democratic welfare state played no role whatsoever in your self-described high net worth.

Lived in Texas for almost a year. There's no way to describe how big a state it is. I enjoyed the colloquial expressions many locals used. People, like anywhere, can be big hearted. the weather went from hot to warm and back to hot again. If you like it on the cool side, it will sap you.
Movin to Texas this July, coming from Missouri, i think with my country roots I’ll fit in just fine.

*My electric bill was $1600.00 a month in South California with SCE's tiered billing system which max's out at $.37 per KWh. In Texas my electric bill went down to $480.00 per month for the same sized 3400 Sq.Ft home with dual 5 ton central air units. With all the other taxes OR LACK THERE OF I lived on $2500.00 less per month which saved me $27,000 a YEAR! You can live GOOD in Texas manly due to the lack of government micro management! Your property rights in Texas are POWERFUL and saved a family of FIVE $140,000 a year combined!!! We are all living better You see in Texas you can build 5 or 6 homes on your own land if you have a tiny bit of acreage and even make a private street with your name on it and move your whole family into their own homes on ONE piece of land and NO BUILDING PERMITS needed. It's so NICE! I live on the same street as my TWO boys and TWO daughters, SWEET and Cheap saving us a fortune on rent!!!*

Only hate about Texas is driving distance, but its nice to live spread out.

Lived in Tyler, Tx for a few years. Loved the winter there, although many people from there acted as if they had winter str8 outta the arctic when the temps got in the 50s lol.
The state of Rhode Island is 1,214 sq miles so the entire state would fit in Harris County.👍👍
The largest county in Texas is Brewster Co (west TX) and it covers 9, 232 sq miles 😱
More fun facts: El Paso is closer to Southern California than it is to Eastern Texas. Some cities in the north of Texas are closer to Chicago than to cities in South Texas.
You can put 2 1/2 Texas in the state of Alaska.
My entire state is smaller than Brewster county

The SWC collapsed because of Major scandals at all of its schools except for Baylor, Rice, and Arkansas. But your attempt to only blame A&M was a nice try
And the Longhorn Network and UTs giant ego is what is ruining the Big 12, so again, nice try.
Aww cool
That end bit about us being so diverse having a lot of everything but we all come together if you try to mess wit Texas almost made me shed a tear 😢. Best State to live in Period!
