I've always been interested in these midi bass plugins, but programming bass seems like such a hassle compared to simply plugging my bass in and recording the part. It would have been cool if you had shown aspects of what it takes to program your parts, or if you found that to be a hinderance at all.
NGL, it's great and the humanize function is a huge plus, but it still sounds like a virtual instrument to me. But it's probably me being a bassist myself, transitioned from guitar. It's probably these little nuances, the immediate note responses, idk. Maybe the composition... but i think its convincing enough that it doesn't really matter tone wise in a full mix. Not that any of us is not using at least a Darkglass Pedal or the Parallax plugin, so... Yeah, good enough
It would have been nice to hear the DI to see how the source sounds, especially in the lower range of notes. I'm looking for a bass instrument that functions more as a DI sample library with solid round robins and a reasonable amount of velocity layers. I'm not too big on presets or the idea of "miX reAdY" samples. That said, if the DI's are solid there's a lot of potential to build some really great tones.
Feel free to hit up support on the Solemn Tones Facebook page with a midi file of yours. I’ll gladly run it through Loki 2’s DI preset for you so you can judge for yourself :)
Is it possible you’re just not into that high mid clank that’s typical for the Dingwall+Darkglass combo? You may be interested in checking out Kraken Hybrid Bass instead then. I’m personally also more into the balance/smoothness that brings.

I also love using the DI into the parallax plugin
Ooooh that’s a good idea!

I really like that man, I struggle to get decent bass tones to thicken up my mixes so I’ll be looking in to this one for sure.
Just wait till you try the're Odin plugin :P
You managed to combine the two wrong forms of their
Is there a trial or demo😀?
Sounds really good actually, impressed. I enjoy playing the real bass though, I'm actually in the search for a new one!

Is this midi only or can you play a real bass through it and use as a vst?
hmmm groovy metal...🤘🎸💗
Can you just play normally a bass through this plugin, just for the tones?
No
Dayum!!
I never got into programming bass, as I think it's harder to do that than actually play bass.
Yes it's better to play bass but if you don't have a real bass & bassist
You need to know how to program articulations
How does this compare to ezBass?
Idk I’ve never tried ezbass I’m not sure what that all entails
Don't need Kontakt = I'm sold.

Fuck that plug-in....
Bro we JUST got a bass player 🤣
Hey fire you’re bass player? I take offense! Good luck trying to fill the low end and play the role of guitar.
🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
@@xanderraymondcharles now it’s confirmed, you guitarists all secretly want to be bassists. I knew it.
If I had this plug-in, I could become and even sh!tt!er bass player!
I fired both bass players many years ago. Not being in a band is the best part of being almost 40
BRUHHH BASSISTS ARE REALLY SAD NOW
All bass sims sound terrible to me. Its the hi end.

It sounds ok… but it sounds nothing like an actual bass guitar.
