This is by far the greatest Charge Blade/AT Velk speed run I’ve ever seen. No tricks or exploits No weird-ass gunlance physics multiplier game plans No unreliable strategies that depend on ridiculous monster ai manipulation Just raw, pure skill. Skill built over hundreds, perhaps even thousands of hours. This is a speed run attainable to the common hunter, because this speed run relies on skill and skill only, something the common hunter can train and sharpen theirselves

@@wallacesousuke1433 Yes it's a glitch. Basically you can trick the game to generate multiple wyrmstake by sticking it to multiple objects and it will deal around 18k dmg
As an unga bunga SAED spam style CB main, it always amazes me to see savage axe players. Something about it just doesn't click in my brain. Add to that my genuine hatred for AT Velkh as a monster, and you have an easy formula for this video being probably my favorite speedrun I've seen in mhw. It's Honestly mesmerizing
Yooo know this is a bit of a late entry! But I'm learning charge blade at the moment what do you recommend for someone whose just beat Velkhana for the first time? Is there a particular all around build that will get me through the rest of ice borne okay?
The absolute necessity for evade window endgame kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Dark souls has only roll i frames for defense because of pvp and bosses, but with only pve, I think capcom should maybe add more moves that give I frames to all weapons so evade window isn’t such a requirement

As someone who did all my at velk runs solo w savage axe cb I can definitely understand why he’s running it, i framing that attack where it puts the frost on the floor and then it explodes is not consistent enough wo it. That was the only thing I’d ever cart to and once I swapped to ew it was like velk on ez mode

It's my favorite weapon in icebourne because it's 3 in one and I can completely change how I feel like handling a hunt instantly.

If I remember correctly, Gold Rathian, Raging Brachy, or Safi CB are useful until you get Fatalis CB.
Raging brachy, or gold rathian if you like poison. Do teostra head, legs, and waist, Garuga legs, and brute tigrex chest

Yup. Just spam up and down with Savage axe like in the vid.
Whenever atv has ice armor she doesn’t take elemental damage so it’s very bad to run element on her

You can dodge every single AT Velkhana move with the regular dodge though. All except perhaps 1.
AT Velkhana is all positioning tho. Even without EW, you can dogde all but 2 attacks, and those are attacks than can be avoided with good positioning
Certainly is not a necessity, it's just purely for comfort
I've never ran more evade window than what would be on my sets by pure happenstance.
