MHW Iceborne | AT Velkhana (SnS) | 4'58"90 (TA Rules)

Got a sub 5 a while ago but I didn't upload until now because I wanted a slightly faster one without booster mod. But I'm really burnt out right now so I just ended up uploading this run in the end. The fight started off fun as I was learning but it slowly became less enjoyable for me. Her AI can be very erratic, she flinches and claggers too much, and this fight feels very awkward to fight when up against a wall, on a slope or near her ice ledges. I did manage to show off an opening that I found and it ended up saving the run in the end.
edit: I sound like I hate this fight in this description but at velk is one of the best fights in the series (lolity lol loler lol lol)

The slinger bursts allow me to go into perfect rush instantly without having to backhop first. It is very good for AT velkhana in particular.

Most impressive, and done with a build that is fairly simple. I do wonder however, how are you getting so much damage out of the perfect rush? Is AT velkhs head just such a good hitzone, or were there some extra steps taken there?

As for my perfect rush damage, Velkhana has a pretty good hitzone of 65 after you break the ice off her head. PR has extremely high motion values, I forget the exact numbers though. Also Frostcraft is very good for the perfect rush playstyle because the gauge depletes slowly and recharges quickly, which allows SnS to keep up the damage multiplier really easily.

@@Paturicko hmm, I need to try that then. I never got any good use out of frostcraft and I have considered it to be pretty mediocre. Maybe it just needs a specific weapon type.
Though I am IG main so I wouldn't know much about it. I needed 900 hours before i switched form glaive to other stuff, too much fun : D.

Yea it's allowed in TA. Pretty useful too because without it you'd usually end up running out of stamina while tenderizing velk's head lol.
