- Finishing up some "needs" on this here truck before it hits the road. For the record, this is going to be one of those projects that will never end. There is always going to be something to fix but I am so ready to be working off a welding bed again. Thanks for watching everyone!!

For your AC, First put a gauge on it. If it us low on R134a, the compressor will not kick on do to the LOW pressure switch. You can jump the switch to see if it kicks in but you should check pressure first. Usually if you get a can with the gauge you can take a reading and then if low start putting some in until the clutch kicks on/off with engine running & AC on.
I guess i should have led with some backstory, when I originally got the truck the compressor would not kick on and it looked like it had seen better days (was also weeping a bit out the bottom) so I assumed that the system was empty and so I got a new compressor and put in it but when I took the old out it has some charge left to it. It may not have been enough to start it in the first place so I guess I should hook up my gauges and test it out, I didn’t realize that there had to be a charge to kick it on.
@@j_moffitt oh ok. Yeah, it needs a minimum low pressure charge to atleast kick in and short cycle. The LOW pressure switch controls that.
Great way to start the morning 😎 The bumper looks much better 👍👍
You need to charge the AC system first and for most. Go to the auto parts store and pickup 3 or 4 cans and some oil to lube the system and a gauge. Start with the oil and then 2 cans and see where the pressure is and it should start kicking the AC clutch in and out and then add the 3rd can and if need be the 4th don't over charge the system it will act the same way as a undercharged system. Good luck and love your videos 🤙🤙🤙
Smoke grey bed liner wold look good and do a good video
Nice and simple. The 6-8" works for me every time
Looks great, I dig the drawer areas. Yes welder makes nice stuff too. I have their 205ds and it runs awesome. Love to have me that 65 plasma torch!
Just to add on to Country Miles comment as i was about to reply same thing as him....also have a spray bottle handy with soapy water spray down around your condenser all plumbing connections and both high and low side fill ports pay close attention to Schrader valves they tend to leak from dirt debris and age....on final note make sure your condenser fins are clean if clogged with debris cooling affect between high and low side will not take place
Looking good, keep up great work
Nice work! 🤓👍
That would make my work setup complete, I can put my hack saw away if I win it 😆 lol I would even pay the shipping lol
I like the bumper. Add some lights n cooling vent holes.
I'm with you on the electrical, I'd just make things worse. The bed is killer but I'm really liking the bumper how it's coming along. I'll be waiting for the next video. Great work and inspiration.
Great video great work ethic
Dude u r getting it man. It looks killer papa
That’s a nice box. I’ve been wanting to build one similar for my flatbed welding rig. Havnt done it yet, I’d like to buy a leaf or finger brake to do all the bends.
Looks good 👍,
Nice job
Try jumping the low pressure switch, if clutch comes on its low on freon
What's a clevis?
Could be ether low pressure switch or high pressure switch. They will keep power from going to ac compressor.
If I pop the connectors off, there should be power coming to one side of either switch correct?
When I got the truck the compressor would not work, I assumed that there was no charge left to it because the compressor was not in great shape from the get go so I got a new one to swap it out but it did actually have some left in it, so I’m wondering if there just wasn’t enough or if there is in fact another issue. What sensor tells the computer (or what have you) that there is no charge?
Ok cool, yeah I was not aware that it had to have a charged system for it to operate, I’ve got ac gauges and I will make sure that it will hold vacuum and there isn’t any other leaks before I try and charge it up, thanks for the help!
Are you going to make the oxy hose reels a kit to buy? If so how much?
Not sure yet, will have to do some figuring….
@@j_moffitt ok let me know looks pretty cool
I’m looking to buying this truck rite now guy wants 5k it’s a 4x4 53 block how reliable are these trucks
53 blocks are notorious for their bad castings
I would sale that thing asap….
It is not possible…
You be too hot with no AC mr Jesse you need to stay cool
I hear ya
