    I subbed you for one main reason: you put the PARTS LINK in the description! That shows that you're a true mechanic and you've been in a position where you need to know actual part numbers versus just a video showing how to install something! I support that!

      @@AutomotiveAuthority I bought belts yesterday and only needed to do the front one. The AC belt was brand new (I just got the truck 3 months ago). Makes no sense as to why they put a brand new REAR belt on but the front belt was missing a whole rib! People are so backwards/lazy.
      I can take the rear belt back today, but now I've got the process from you on how to get it done in a couple of years.
      People are so cheap. WHY even do the rear and put the OLD front back on? LOL! I scratch my head at people, man.

    This is a real “how it’s done” video for sure. Thanks for not trying to make it look too simple.

    This belt change is a LOT easier done if you do it when you change the spark plugs. Remove plugs, do the A/C belt while plugs are out, easier to turn crankshaft. The A/C belt change is not one of Ford's better ideas.

    • @elitem3
      @elitem3 2 роки тому

      it might be coming from the valve cover gasket or valve seals dripping down from the top

    How’d you get the ac belt back onto the ac itself I watched it slip off. Mines same way following this.

    I had my belts replaced about 7 months ago and I am getting a squeal when I start up and it goes away after the engine is warm. It is worse on damp or rainy days. Does this sound like a belt is bad already? I would think that if it was a bearing or pulley that it wouldn't go away after the engine was warm.

    • @AutomotiveAuthority
      @AutomotiveAuthority  2 місяці тому

      It could be several things causing a squeal and its hard to say exactly what it is. The belt could need to be replaced or the tensoiner could be starting to wear out would be my top guesses. You could also try a belt conditioner spray from a local auto parts store that could also remedy the noise without having to guess and throw parts at it.
