Another tip for brown eyed girlies : instead of using black eyeliner, you can use navy blue/purple eyeshadow as your liner. It really complements the eye color so well.. this is also the makeup tip used by the Miss universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach when she's doing her makeup for joining pageants

@mollymalone2838 yeah she was saying brown and I thought Dakota doesn't look brown and nor does she , only Emily's eyes look brown the way I know. I mean I know chocolate or honey brown too but they aren't common in Indian subcontinent nor is it in South East Asia or East Asia, Afghanistan has a lot of light eyes so their neighboring countries too get some. Our brown is close to black. Brown shades look good, golden too looks great, in more vibrant colors go for emerald green, looks good on dark brown (I am from India and we have those dark brown almost black ones), also we have generally warm tone so I think due to that too usually blue doesn't go that well. The sunset/siren eye makeup looked good when done with orange and yellow if you want a dramatic eye makeup, it looks like fire and suits brown eyes. Also purple looks great if you have a lil darker skin tone. It looks good on lighter too but better on darker.

have you tried apricot/peach lids with deep green eyeshadow liner or pinkybrown/rose lids with deep navy eyeshadow liner both guaranteed excellant alternatives to the brown based look above for brown eyes ....I have used them on myself and my daughter and we've had loads of great comments.

Thing is, I don't go that dark because I have deep set and droopy eyes, in addition to big dark circles.. but it's definitely worth a try. Looks beautiful!
This has been my go to makeup for the last 20 years haha. Heavy brown shadow, cat liner, mascara on top and bottom lashes. It might not be the most trendy makeup right now but imo it is a classic and really does compliment brown eyed ladies so much.

Love it!! But what if we have hooded dark brown eyes ? I think instead of going on the water line , if we put black liner on the lower lash line that works better for us hooded girlies but my shadow never shows up on the lids
Same! I have hooded eyes and I too think lower lash line is the way instead of waterline.

I have brown eyes. I use grey/ blue subtle eyeshadow everyday.. I barely use any makeup but just the eyeshadow and black eyeliner and some lipgloss.

I have dark brown eyes, but I have super pale olive skin. Browns always pull red on me, even if its a so-called "cool" brown, so I end up looking like a vampire (which is fine sometimes lol). Anyone else have this issue?? I end up using greys and taupes, but love this warmer look.

I think pink shades make brown pop, the reason why this looks good is the eye liner but it doesn't enhance the brown color.
I would love to try this look, but I noticed I look better with natural eyeshadow look rather than ‘heavy’ eye makeup. Or maybe my skills aren’t that great. Or maybe my Asian features look better with the natural makeup look.
Asian faces tend to be lower in contrast, this look fits better if you have a high contrast face. Noticed it doesn't look quite as good on devon aoki as the others. You can get the same effect if you lighten the browns and use brown eyeliner instead of black.
Omg same,not Asian but I have very hooded eyes, and all the eyeshadow gets sucked up into my eye hood and it’s NOTT the look

just use the first three shades: light brown, dark brown and black. Don't do the water line or undereyes like she did. I find this to be a softer version, and if you are using korean makeup it's going to be even softer :)
@@danimiller2865 omg twins! something that works well for me when I want to put eyeshadow on is eyelid crease tape from a Korean/japanese mart, so the hood doesn’t suck up all the makeup lol! it helps so much 🙏🏻
I used to wear a ton of make up, too, back when I was your age and didn’t need any at all. But it was a lot of fun. I still don’t know why I wore foundation though, because my skin was perfect. As yours is.

Seasonal color analysis would be important for choosing the colors. I'm guessing something like Kibbe body types could also help determine if a heavier makeup like this would work well for an individual. You mentioned that the women from your few examples had various bone structures and you liked the way it looked on them. That still doesn't cover every facial structure and if you love this makeup look then that could also bias your opinion on how it looks on them. Beyond good sleep, hydration, and hygiene, you're really going to be hard pressed to find something that's truly universal in makeup and fashion. People can probably still learn a lot from your tutorials if they find something that does work for them or that they know how to modify to work well for them!

Darkening the waterline of the eyes makes them look smaller, IMO.
No, it's not universal for ALL brown eyes. Will probably work for smaller/medium almond shaped brown eyes but it's definitely not for larger rounder brown eyes like mine. I have tried to make this look work for me for years without success only to have given it up because it does not flatter my big but rather rounded eyes.
Have been doing it for years but no wet eyeliner over the black eyeshadow. It looks better in my opinion along with brown eyeshadows. It is the only look I do when I want to do some more makeup. Completely given up on other colors.

Honestly the best my eyes have ever looked is when I had black eyeshadow on. It made the brown look almost red. But I almost never wear a black Smokey eye. It’s so bold I’d feel awkward

Lavender will pop brown eyes out of your head. Perhaps a lavender with the brown?
@@BrainhoneywalkerLavender is my go to. Some people like red or orangey browns too, especially if they have an amber tint to their brown. Purple is my go to because mine are almost black. Lavender for a light look, more of a Royal purple or like an eggplant purple for a night out.

I think the look before you added the shadow and mascara to your bottom lashes gave such a gorgeous lifted cat eye look that I would have personally stopped there.
Honestly, it's not a brown eye thing. It's a high visual weight thing. Heavy eye makeup never suited me, especially any kind of black eyeliner/ eyeshadow
This eye look would look good on any eye color. Like what? Neutral dark smokey eye. Looks good on everyone per the right occasion.
